The games i played last night were very evenly matched stat wise. I was actually out time of possesioned in 2 of the games i played.

Plaed 3 games back to back to back until about 3am last night, i thought it just kept getting better and better.

It is crazy how some love the game, some cant find it within themselves to even buy it.

Most college football game feel i can remember. What do i know, i was entertained by the commentary.

Downloaded the early release, played it for about an hour. Blocking is better, running is different, passing and defense feel almost the same as last year. 2 impressions to make. first, this is the best playing NCAA of this generation. That being said my second impression is, its so ungodly boring its not even funny. The NCAA and Madden teams are definitely making the right moves gameplay wise, but my oh my is this game insufferably boring. And by boring I mean there is almost zero immersion for me. The presentation is so bland, the atmosphere is so untouched from 6-7 years ago its hard for me to get through a game.
Gameplay wise, great steps forward. Presentation and immersion, they really need to step up in this aspect.

I'm just echoing a lot of people at this point, but in my experience:

-QBs are too accurate.
-Defense is terrible all the way around. I wonder if QB Acc is tied to the fact that the pocket is mostly clean. Unless you blitz the QB is hinder free but if you do blitz and don't hit home you are going to give up some yards. Don't bother playing most of the zones.
-The option is finally functional and a blsat to play.
-Presentation is improved. Love the halftime show.

I have a love-hate relationship with this game. It is fun to play, but many things aren't realistic and it seems like having good strategy isn't rewarded. Line play needs a massive overhaul to reflect mismatches. In my experience, the offensive line gets the edge most of the time. I'm going to play more with my season ticket, but I don't know if this will be a purchase. I was leaning yes after the demo, but the defense definitely needs some love, and I don't mean a skills boost. My defensive strategy is limited to man coverage 80% of the time and blitzing selectively. No assignments, etc.
The option is great, but I'd like to mention that in real life the bubble screen is often packaged in with the read option play. The triple option is nice, but it would be nice to see the QB able to throw the bubble screen when the defense runs a scrape exchange. Too bad the casual gamer EA caters to doesn't even understand what I just said....

I've played several more games today. I'm playing on All American with my own custom slider set to fit my skill level, 7:00 quarters. I have to say this is the best I've even been able to tune a football game in quite some time. In the past no matter what I could always find a go to play that would work no matter what, not in this game so far. Every game I've played today has been a close battle where I've had to use my noggin to be successful.

Just played Texas A&M - CPU @ Washington Huskies - Me. I won a very hard fought game 34-27.

Some game stats:
1st downs CPU -18 , Me -16
total offense CPU 469 , Me - 330
rushes-yards-td CPU 29-76-1, Me 28-148-3
Comp-ATT-TD CPU 27-33-2, ME 11-22-1
Passing yards - CPU- 393 , ME-182
3rd down Conv - CPU- 9-13. Me- 6-9
Turnovers - CPU -3, Me-1 all int's
KR yards CPU- 96 . Me- 273 took one back inside the 5
Penalties - CPU 2-20, Me - 0-0 needs adjusting
T.O.P CPU- 17:41, Me- 13:42

All in all my main complaint is the player physics still seem a bit off at times. Sometimes the slightest contact will cause a man to fall. My HB slightly bumped the FB lead blocking and down he went, shouldn't have happened.

I like the game. I wasn't planning on buying it because I just picked up NCAA 2013 last week for $6.00 and I just got started with that game , but I've got a couple games to trade in so I may have to pick this one up also.

Just beat Boise St with Stanford 10-7 in a snow game at metlife stadium. Tough defensive struggle all game.

I started there but found it a bit to "Boosted" for my tastes.

What I find interesting is at right settings I've had QB's not be able to hit the side of a barn.. yet I still see "QB's too accurate" posts. I've also been able to generate sacks with front 4 etc... get decent D battles etc..
Yes I've also had games where nothing went right lol

It's simply a case where so many gamers have many different takes and gameplay styles. That's why there are no end all, be all, perfect slider sets, period.

Might have already been said, but recruiting seems MUCH MORE difficult than last years game. Especially since there are no more promises.

every year with the same BS: ULL gets a 5 star in the first year, and Florida and LSU are ranked lower than ECU in recruits

Im seeing exactly the same. One game me LE had 6 sacks, 5 in the first half. All on 4 man rushes. With the CPU controlling him for 4 of them. I put QB accuracy at 30 i believe and im seeing 60% and less completion percents. Now i am playing with South Alabama vs Low rated teams. But i do like what i see.

Not sure how much I'm actually going to veer from default this year. The only thing I've seen that's caught my eye so far is QBA for the CPU, and I think I've found an answer for it.

Difficulty: Heisman (O)/All-American (D)
Speed: Normal
Threshold: 50

Sliders:

QBA = 5/5
CPU Run Blocking = 60
HUM Rush Defense = 45
KOP = 40/45
FGA = 5/45

Florida (me) vs Toledo

Score: 23-20 (Overtime)
Passing: 20/27, 228 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT's (UF), 23/33, 214 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Running: 40 attempts, 149 yards, 2 TD's, 1 Fumble (UF), 34 attempts, 64 yards, 1 TD, 0 Fumbles

Notes:
  • Easily one of the best games I've ever played. I was down 10-0 at first, but slowly felt the momentum shift back in my favor. I was up 17-10 before Toledo put together a drive with a minute or two to go.
  • Each team had four sacks a piece. Most of theres were via their QB trying to scramble.
  • I was great defensively. A fluky pass at the end of the half for about 60 yards + OT boosted their passing numbers, but I thought I defended it well for the most part.
  • Turnover's almost cost me the game. I gave them the ball twice in my territory, both leading to scores.
  • The last play of the game was awesome. It was a pitch play from the 2 yardline to Kelvin Taylor. He lowered his shoulder and knocked the defender to the ground, and put his hand down and reached for the endzone to score.
  • I'm going to do my best to find a sweetspot for the CPU Offense. It's somewhere between Heisman and AA for me. Heisman is great for the running game, AA is great for the passing game.
  • The game is finally fun again. I found myself worrying about absolutely nothing outside of winning the game. Everything else looked fine.

Not true. Playing a test franchise with auto named rosters as we speak.

Not happening at all in my dynasty. ECU is ranked 87 with 1 4*, 2 3*, and 6 2*. Florida is 15, LSU is 25 (did have a bad year) and ULL has no 5 or 4*s.

so far playing...a few weeks into an offline dynasty

The CPU has only chosen to receive once...which is fine

Also has anyone else noticed that the play of the game...only the ball is shown and everyone is invisible?

Might have been reported before, but i have not caught up with this thread much - only read up to page 18

USA has field turf. We haven't had too many rainy home football games.

Main problem with the game right here, CPU ball carrier falls down way too much from the slightest touch:

I hear ya on the falling down. But you do realize you ran full speed into your linemans *** when you fell down. And on top of that you had a giant hole right next to you on your right. So you really you had no reason to run straight into your lineman at all.

I'm having a lot of fun with this game so far. Of course, there's some issues with the game. I think running the ball might be a little too easy. Nice to see the AI run the ball good this year. The blocking has improved. So far not been able to sack the qb that many times. I've only played 2 games on heisman level. I won and lost the second game. I think the coverage is a little better this year, but needs to be tightened up a little. Overall fun game to play.

If you didnt notice, this is the CPU ball carrier, not him.

GMSS, I think you said you are on 100 CPU RBA but what is your user tackling at?

At 80 RBA CPU and 25 tackling for user I don't see those happen often at all on AA

Changing gears:

I'm observing that slowest is by far the best way to go for coach progression
