Haha yeah I figured I would get the running game going to set up the pass. after about 3 running plays for 5-6 yards they would come with the blitz. 1st pass I threw intercepted by the d linemen and I figured typical Logan Thomas lol. but after throwing 2 more int's I realized route mirroring was still happening with their db's and linebackers jumping my passes everytime.

I think it's funny how half of this thread is saying the presentation sucks, the safety glitch is still there, vertical cheese, and mirror defenders are prevalent on pass plays while the other half say the exact opposite. Just goes to show you how the same game looks and feels completely different to everybody.

every iteration of the game i struggle with the graphical changes in the game. this year is no different. i don't remember how the demo looked last year, but i certainly struggled with the game graphics on release night, and did a bunch of comparison, '13 to '12.

I don't think the game is bad but it's just not really that much different. The slight improvements are things that I feel like should have been improved a long time ago.
i had recently been playing '13 a few times coming up to the demo release. initially i thought the graphics had actually stepped back, i popped '13 in last night again, and played aTm vs oregon at aTm to mirror the game, and certainly '14 outshines it, at least to some extent. the stadium in '14 was very impressive compared, as far as i thought.

i wonder if the new camera angles have something to do with the initial graphical difference.

one thing i was always so impressed with was how, when in a cut scene or close up, the helmets and jerseys always looked so life like. initially, i didn't get that feeling with the demo.

i always say there's an adjustment period when jumping to the next iteration.

loving the IE in this game. i should be able to get some good play time, tonight and for sure tomorrow as the wife has to leave town for business.

i'm stoked about the running game, can't wait to get my power attack built.

i learned i both suck at running an option offense, and i certainly can't seem to stop it.

i think the game will prove, for me, to be a solid challenge.

the game wont really shine for me until i can get my hands on my Husker team. playing with teams i don't care about does absolutely nothing for me.

i wish that we could save our settings on the demo....

Played another 3 Q just now before I head back into work. Saw some really cool animations, especially on a CPU pick in the back of the endzone just before I shut it down.

Still not sure if the DB Glitch is around. If it is, it's much less noticeable than last year, as I can't just complete every single pass down the middle. Seems like if you catch the CPU off guard with, or set them up prior to, a 4 Verts, you have a better shot at completing it down the middle. But I'm not sure if that's just me being awesome or the glitch.

For example: Today I completed one 4 Verts pass, but not for a lot of yardage. Last year I would have completed it for a TD. However, last night I completed maybe 2 out of 12 down the middle as the slot DB just hung onto the slot WR the entire route after I completed 2 straight.

My verdict is still out, but I'm leaning towards the AI realizing that you're doing that same play over and over again and adjusting to it, making it impossible to recreate the glitch pass after pass after pass after pass.

All I know is I enjoy the demo tremendously. Is it perfect? Nope, but what game is? Do some things that have plagued the series still exist? Sure, but the ultimate for me is the fun factor, and the demo provides that.

I didnt have a issue with the crowd, but then again, I do have a Dolby 6.1 Surround system. Will have to listen to the crowd more closely for ebbs and how they react to certain situations.

But they should go nuts on a TD, that for certain. Imma need EA to change that before they release this.

I know people say this too much, but we should have had this quality of a game a couple years ago.

Agreed - I only worry about me and if I like it. You would be better off not going into impression threads on OS -

Agree 100%. Throughout my years on OS I didn't even know have the bugs and glitches that were in some of these games until I started reading the forums and threads. I probably would have enjoyed those game much more without reading the threads. Oh well.

For me, the gameplay improvements outshine the glitches I've found. And the atmosphere improvements help alleviate some of that feeling of staleness that always seems to eventually set in.

But the graphical flaws in the player models really make me cringe (PS3). Then to pop in SSX, TW14, Fifa 13 or Madden 13 and come back to NCAA 14 is too jarring. No other sports this year looks this bad. Yes, more vibrant colors has helped the fields, but the players in motion - ugh. The cutscenes look great as usual. But I just don't understand what happened to this game graphically after NCAA 11.

Ok am I stupid or what... I can't seem to truck with my running backs. On the skills thing it says "click" the RS and that didn't work, so I tried flicking up on the RS to no avail. I swear I'm a veteran NCAA Football player!! Lol😨

Played all three matchups available. 2014 looks better than last year. Multi player collisions seem more realistic. Players seem to be really struggling to gain yards/stop ball carrier. Physics is much better.

After reading through most of this thread,I noticed how alot of folks were saying how much better AA was playing,so I decided to see if I could have the same results.
The first thing I did was ditch the coordinator cam,I found this was ALOT of why the game felt easy for me on default AA....it was simply way to easy to see the holes in the zone, and exploit them.

I went back to the "normal" cam,and it seemed everything fell back into place...well except for a couple of things (actually 3.lol)

1-hum and cpu qb's are just simply to accurate.
2-wr's very rarely drop anything
3-lack of penalties.

So what I ended up trying is this....
hum qb acc-5
hum wr catch-0

cpu qb acc-0
cpu wr-0

So far so good....I don't mean to turn this into a slider thread, but I just wanted to point out my observations during my demo time.

What ultimately led to these changes were what I outlined above, and also...playing as Ohio State,Brax was WAAAAAAAY to accurate, fitting the ball where he had no business fitting it into.

I understand that college has alot of high scoring games, but also looking through this thread,I've seen just some crazy scores, and this is only a 3 min per quarter demo.

Imagine if folks played a full game? good Lord...the scores would constantly be in the 70's or 80's...lol

I have been having the best results (so far) with offense set to human for both, and defenses for both set to Heisman....just trying some different theory's at this point.

I'm wondering the same thing. It says to truck over defenders to press R3 (PS3), but that seems to do nothing. I have had better luck just flicking it up, but it doesn't feel any different than last year.

Just saw something in my game and I'm wondering if it's a glitch. I was UO against TAMU and they kicked it off to me after they scored. I ran it out to the 23 and somehow TAMU got called for Clipping, giving me the option of moving it to the 38.

Can Clipping be called on the kicking team? I've never seen it once in my life.

Yeah, I started using the Zoom cam and then like last year I'd press the button to hot route a WR, then canceled it, leaving the camera at what seems like "wide."

I mention this because it's kind of like having to camera modes on Offense. If you are running you are up close to the action, and if you are passing you are farther back. On D though it stays on zoom, which isn't a big deal to me because if the other team passes I switch players anyway.

I wish there was button so you could cycle through the camera modes depending on what play you are running.

Good:

First I must say that the game play has improved much over the last year. Tackle animations are a lot better, OL/DL interactions are a lot better which makes the run game look great at times, seen some very nice catch animations also which gives a fresh feel to the passing game. CPU AI has gotten a boost and plays a lot better and more like its real life counterpart than years before. Love the training mode that helps fine tune your skills. Colors pop out making the game look more vibrant. The fixed the lights at night so the field doesn’t look dark..

Bad:

Defense feels like it’s been left out again… Defense needs more control and commands..
Still see instances where the pass rush isn’t there although it better containment is still a issue. Can still manipulate the pocket a lil… 4 verticals was still money although I didn’t run it over and over again when I did it was money. Option game seems a tad overpowering at times but I’m hoping adjustments can be made to stop it or slow it down.

Still see some dumb tackle animations and pinball running at times but not much.

Presentation is meh… Like the opening shot of the stadium but the montage is dumb because it features the team you haven’t played yet.. Commentary has some new lines but still dry and stale. Hopefully it gets better in dynasty mode. Crowd is better but still too much dead air between plays. Need more band play and chants but custom sounds should help this area…Still hate the post play animations just looks stale and unnatural.

Graphically the game is good but should alot better at this point. Game still doesn’t look like what I see on Saturday s..The 360 still seems to be a lot sharper with less jaggies. I saw that Ohio State lost its glair on the helmet at night just as last year going from a metallic look to flat grey. Sidelines look bad still, no real interaction between players, coaches, no yard markers etc.. Just some little things missing. The lack of equipment makes the players look dated and kills the realism of the game IMO.

All in all the game is better if you get past the irritating overlooks by EA.. Not a 1st day buy IMO but I’ll eventually pick it up closer to the season…
