Madden NFL 25 News Post

VSN has posted a new podcast with Madden NFL 25 Creative Director, Michael Young. There are quite a few interesting presentation nuggets included, some of which we have listed below.
  • The Presentation playbook went away this year, but that doesn't mean the team hasn't been working hard on it.
  • Year 2 with Nance and Simms adds more depth in commentary, especially in career mode, more details on that at a later date.
  • Replays feel more human, varied and specific to the types of plays. Using real cameras, from the real locations in the stadiums (framing, timing, etc.)
  • New animated tickers, banners, feels more like a broadcast.
  • Added more team chants, first down and stadium sounds, since they went to many stadiums with Jim and Phil and grabbed live recordings.
  • More authentic tracks from various stadiums. Redone referee audio.
  • If you move your team, commentators will talk about that.
  • New sideline reporter has been added, will talk about that later.
  • Adam Schefter is still in the virtual news feed, breaking story lines, but he has also been added to the draft commentary.
  • When the draft is running, Trey Wingo is the host and Adam talks about the outlook and expectations of the player.
  • Brand new branching story lines for 30 draft classes and Adam made them sound authentic. Adam has been signed for a couple of years.
  • Can't place players on the PUP list. (Injured reserve IS STILL in the game) - Mike misunderstood the question in podcast.
  • Owners can't bid for Super Bowl hosting.
  • Overhauled Connected Franchise website, much more functional with tutorials.
  • Commissioner tools haven't been locked down, so they couldn't announce any of them.
  • Facial scans were made for most of last year's rookie class (roughly 20 didn't get in) All starting QB's and some QB's that could see some time.
  • Also ran facial scans for coaches, in total close to 100 facial scans made it in.
  • Players get scanned if they are available at events (for example the Pro Bowl) some simply don't want to. Basically EA gets what they can, when they can. It's not as easy as people may think it is.
  • They have tweaked the Zoom camera, didn't mention any other cameras.
  • The rumors are FALSE. There is no PC version of Madden NFL 25.
  • Head coaches, head trainers, head scouts and owners will be featured in story lines, not coordinators.
Remember, these were just some of the nuggets, make sure you listen to the entire podcast here.

Madden's problem isn't the convenient lack of space excuse. It's the constant turnover of the dev team and lack of direction or ability to stay the course.
What settings are you guys playing on to get this 1:01 bug to happen? I played 4 games last week vs the cpu and it never happened. I even called timeouts before the 1:01 mark so I couldn't prevent it from happening somehow by calling a timeout myself, and it still didn't happen for me.

The constant turnover with dev teams is a real problem, definitely, but the lack of space is just as real. Now maybe if they would use the space they are given more on things like gameplay and AI instead of 3d grass or insane levels of detail in all 32 stadiums, uniforms, cleats, gloves, etc... then the space would be used more efficiently. Only problem with that is then people would complain about stadiums, uniforms, cleats, gloves, grass, etc... So in order to make everyone happy, yes they need more space to work with.

Space really isn't the problem man. Look at games like Fifa, Nba 2k, NHL, those games are all miles ahead of Madden. Yes more space means potential to add more, but that doesn't matter if the people making the game are lackluster.

I'm not going to sit here and argue about this, I've talked to the people that know how this all works and you have your opinion and I have mine.

I think he meant the score overlay. I wished they added a ticker. They do it for 123 teams in NCAA, but can't for 32 in NFL? C'mon, man.

Trust me I hope that this years madden saves from jumping on the new consoles day one. As of now it's not looking very likely I'll be sticking with this gen. Granted we have only seen one 5 second clip of gameplay footage and it looks the same as the last two years. Season ticket for this gen will help me decide. If I'm blown away next week, so long madden on this gen and hello ps4.

I think he knows the difference between a score overlay and a ticker though. The score overlay is generally referred to as a scorebug, we'll find out soon enough, but I'm just curious what he means by new tickers.

Or Game Breaks like Studio Updates in NCAA.

This presentation stuff sounds okay, as long as it WORKS. Madden 10 supposed to have stadium sounds, didnt work. Madden 11, fight songs and sounds worked. Madden 12, the audio was all messed up for that title. Madden 13 , completley touted a partnership with NFL films, but, and correct me if Im worng, that game had ZERO content from NFL films save 10 or 12 QB cadences ( and 2 or 3 of them were backups or retired). I love the presentation stuff, and it helps me overlook some bugs if it feels like Im watching a game.

The player chatter and tackle sound effects were from NFL Films, and yes the Qb Cadences that you mentioned.

QB cadences were one of the best presentation features in Madden 13, they bring a level of authenticity to the game that I've never experienced in a Madden game. I'm hoping they added more qb cadences for Madden 25. I'm guessing we will get a presentation trailer or something along those lines, sometime this week or else during E3. I was thinking it would be a blog but Mike said in the podcast Friday that presentation info is probably better when it can be seen or heard and not just read about in a blog.

I only play against the CPU and it happens whenever the CPU has the chance late to tie/take lead and VERY often if they have the ball in the 2-minute drill.

Always at 1:01 as well unless the clock ran past it during the play and then it's whenever the play is over.

I can count on one hand the number of times it DIDN'T happen in the above scenarios. I'm all for clock management, but when it's at or very close to the same game clock each time and no awareness of trying to get O.O.B to save clock/timeouts...

Does this happen to you during a play now,MUT, or CCM game? I was referring to solo challenge games in MUT, where it doesn't happen for me,so I wonder if it's a CCM bug.

Okay. But that is hardly a back of the box feature to roll out. I really just hope the fight songs and stadium stuff work this year. Every stadium should have something unique going on. Madden 11 was somewhat well done in that aspect. But there is no reason to not have E-A-G-L_E-S, or the dog pound barking, or the voltage sound in san diego...

That being said, the mention of the muskett audio in New England is promising....

Madden 12 was the one with all of that stuff working I believe, or maybe both 11 & 12.

I agree with you 100% on this. The cadences, along with the specific throwing styles are a huge thing for me. The thing that dissapointed me was they had "unprecedneted" use of NFL films resources, and they leave out mid to high level guys like Cutler, Cassell ( at the time haha) but leave in JAke Delhomme and Donovan Mcnabb.

Im not that crazy about face scans on rookies, just ad the face scans for star players which are out and I would be happy.

Like Lesean McCoy, Ngata, Hakeem Nicks, Cruz, JPP, Arian Foster, theres a big list.

Well they said they added some at the pro bowl, along with all 32 coaches. They also said that they get who they can when they are at these events, some people will decline to have their faces scanned. Hopefully most of the names if not all, that you mentioned will be in Madden 25. I know I was the one who asked the question about face scans and specifically mentioned Foster as an example.

This was brought up last year in a thread when Madden 13 had this listed under its features. Im still guessing its not the ticker that is in NCAA because NCAA had it last year and Madden didnt. kind of funny though, this description looks very similar to 25\

"Madden NFL 13 delivers world-class presentation with an all-new living front end, dynamic in-game transitions, a live ticker, and drastically improved usability. Every game has the feel of a nationally televised broadcast with CBS Sports commentators Jim Nantz and Phil Simms calling the action from the virtual 3D booth." - http://www.easports.com/madden-nfl/features.

I was just looking around on line and here is what I found about disc space

Gears of War 3 - requires 7.5 GB (post new disc format)

Most other games 6.5 GB (pre new disc format)

Madden 12 - 4.8 GB
Madden 13 - 5.3

Not sure disc space is really the issue.

I'm still kind of lost what is the ticker then?

I figured it was going to be for scores around your dynasty.

It could mean the Real Life Ticker at the Bottom that provides real life stories or the News center Stories Tab.
