Well went ahead a played my first tourney on Tour and finished at -7 and tied for 41st place. 71-70-69-71. My golfer is a level 92 and for me to struggle like I did was a good sign for me that it won't be an easy ride on the Tour

Course conditions were very mild so it was a nice 1st tourney to break the ice.

Only issue I have after spending a whole week with the game is the lighting at times were to dark to even read the greens. Matter of fact it's almost impossible on a cloudy day. That's the only time I had issues with reading the greens

I might add I made $29,020.

The winner was at -16, the course was Sheshan. The course played easy even the pin placements for the most part were easy to get to. Barely any wind

BTW did you run into any other issues with the AI scoring?
None that I noticed. Everything played out well from what I could tell

I'm having a pretty damn good time with this game right now. I'm playing on all sim settings except I had to knock down the swing difficulty a level because quite frankly, I couldn't hit a decent shot with it on the highest level. I'm on the Web.com tour and have yet to shoot E or under par and that's through 4 tournaments. I'm extremely pleased with that. I'm finding the game very challenging and that is the best thing so far. Past Tiger games the biggest problem was the lack of difficulty after a while.

The only complaint I really have so far is the lighting. I won't lie, I don't think they do this very well. The visuals are terrific, but when you combine it with actually having to play the game it's really bad. There are times where I'm putting and I cannot see where the hole is at all. I mean I understand the fact they want to show the difference between time and weather, but I think it's overdone a little bit too much.

Obviously there are other issues with the game but it seems that most of those are going to be in the patch. I'm extremely happy they are switching the putting cam. Overall though I'm definitely having a good time with this game.

Got the game on Saturday and like it a lot. I played the demo a lot. I know my limitations and so, I don't play on sim difficulty. I bumped it down to Tournament and I'm liking the results. In the few rounds I've played I've finished anywhere from +2 to -4. I don't think I'll be shooting the consistent low scores from last year.

The thing I like about this year's version the most is the ability to mess up a shot. I don't hit every shot where I want it. Even if I set everything up pre-shot, I still have to execute that diagonal swing and sometimes I can mess it up royally...and I like that.

Being from Hawaii I'm obviously saddened by the loss of Waialae, but I'll live... I can see this game having a lot of play time this year.

Just had what was both one of the most maddening and one of the coolest moments I've had in this series. We were playing The Els Club and on the hole 4 par 3 I hit what looked like an absolutely perfect shot at the pin (FWIW my golfer is a power fade lefty with a high trajectory).

Suddenly as the ball comes down, it takes off dramatically with what looked like a mid-air super bounce into the sand behind the hole. I'm pissed at first thinking the game glitched or something as it seemed to take off out of nowhere. Upon hitting the replay, it turns out the ball was so on the line that it seemed to have hit the top of the pin and ricocheted off of the back edge, which is what caused it to fly so drastically off the green. What was easily my most accurate tee shot ever led to a bogey...lol.

Well, after playing the game on Tournament the last week and shooting scores easily under par I decided it would be more fun and challenging to try Simulation. All I can say is I have the zoom to aim on and the green grid with no beads on, everything else Simulation default, and this is the best and toughest golf game I've ever played! And I've been playing golf games since Atari and Intellivision! I have yet to shoot better than +4 and my putting is atrocious, after I complained about it being too easy with the meter on!!

Which brings me to a question.....how far do you estimate the putt at full power if your aiming 6 feet? With a smooth, perfect swing, do you figure 10 feet? What about aimed at 18 feet? Do you figure 20 feet with a perfect stroke? I know a lot of my issue is I have no feel yet and am overswinging most putts and blowing it by and turning 3-4 birdie putts a round into 3 putt bogeys and it's KILLING my score! So I need some advice on your putting methods, please!

I downloaded about 7 courses and with the Historic Edition I think I have 33 courses now. Between career mode and the Legends of the Majors, I could easily see this as being one of the most played sports games I've ever owned! With the patch, I think this will be the perfect golf game and the Tiger most of us have been waiting on since the original TW!

Thanks in advance for any putting tips and advice as I don't think Keegan Bradley (think it was him) will be as willing to give me any like he did Tiger a few weeks ago

My golfer just reached level 75 and i still haven't shot an under par round yet. I was 2 under today through 12 holes on my web.com event in the UK and proceeded to finish +5. That was with 2 par 5's in the final 6 holes too!

I'm loving this game. It's the most immersive TW game i can recall in years. I have the game on sim mode, no green grid, no beads and normal AI. I think tonight i'll finally get my first under par round, but usually i would be knocking down 12 and 14 under par rounds by now.

Once EA Sports releases a patch to fix some of the problems, this is going to be the best TW game ever IMO.

How are you guys putting with no green grid? I feel like it's just hit and hope.

It's tough but it's worth it. It just adds that more of a challenge when putting. You just really have to think about your putt. Look at it from the lie camera angle and from the normal putting camera. I've guessed wrong on the break numerous times but I chalk it up as to my error. To me that's how it should be.

What are you guys choosing for weather? I swear every single tournament I play it rains 2 out of 4 days. Absolutely annoying. I haven't had a blue sky day in forever.

Alright then I'm switching to that once I can chose that option again. I'm on pre-determined right now thinking that depending on the region you're in the weather will be similar.

Been thinking weather options too, if I play all 4 rounds of a tournament in couple of hours wouldn't live weather then be somewhat same for all rounds? I'm propably going to choose random weather.

I believe you can change this at the end of each tournament, possibly even at the end of each round in the CM Settings menu.....will try to confirm this.

You're correct because I just did it. I remember when I borrowed TW 13 from a friend last year, the game didn't allow you to do it until you started a new season or moved to the PGA Tour or something.

Just noticed that there is a bug in scoring. I thought this happened before but brushed it off. On a Par 3 my tee shot went into the water so I took a drop, landed on the green and the announcer mentions I'm putting for bogey. I make the putt but it gives me a par. I didn't want to believe it when it happened a few days ago but its there

Just rented it last week so I haven't got around to creating my golfer but have had a chance to play 5 or so rounds with the various pros.

Started off playing on a modified simulation setting with everything on default expect zoom to aim and wind on and changed the strike meter to analog instead of analog fade. Was shooting pretty consistently under par with my best being -8 with Rickie Fowler at TPC Louisiana w/tournament conditions.

So I tried playing with the true simulation settings and had a great time. Shot 3 under (5 birdies, 2 bogeys) with Luke Donald at Spyglass and played really well.

Not having zoom to aim seemed foolish at first, but flybys really helped on shots into the greens and my lines off the tee. I also like the idea that the more you play the course the better your course knowledge becomes which can be a nice advantage. For example, they're were some tee shots that I had no idea what club to pull. I took hybrid instead of 3 wood off of a shortish dogleg right par 4 but left my self behind a tree since I didn't hit far enough down the fairway. Had 228 left in and had to play a huge cut around if I wanted to reach the green so I had to layup. I understand that all pros have that sort of info to avoid those situations but if you play from the perspective of an everyday golfer that might not have a yardage book handy, you can look past that. Only wish you still had the ability to look behind the hole while putting as you do with zoom to aim on.

Arrow only wind is fine. You can get a feel for it by how fast the arrow in moving and the swaying of the trees and bushes on the course. And while I still think playing with the analog fade strike meter is unrealistic, it does give you some anxiety when hitting out of the rough which is nice.

I played a TON of 13... is this game enough of an upgrade? I think I'm finally going to skip a year. Last year's game was great, though.

The putting camera bug sounds terrible. How could they mess that up? And, is there still a career mode scoring glitch or did EA fix it?

This not the year to skip my friend. Especially if your in for a very challenging/rewarding sim difficulty. I personally haven't been affected by scoring bug (other than our CC 4 round tourneys are goofy) but that's being addressed. The putt camera is hardly a bug...it's really not that bad and after a few rounds you don't even notice it.
