So no one here has an issue with the helium balloon passing?

Alot of them, the way the passes are built into the game they would be easily picked off in real life. There's no zip or speed in alot of them, all of the passes look like they're floating.

I think the controls, contact animations that are unintrusive on the offensive controls, and the better passing are the most important improvements they've made to this game...I'm super excited over those alone. Then of course defense but its you to be seen if you can really play effective on ball defense as far as keeping with the defender...we will see when the demo drops.

Going to be so hard waiting till Oct 2nd..this game really looks smooth, the animations are definitely looking nice but if I may nit pick for a minute...like said earlier I can deal with the sliding since its the first year with the new controls....I have to say that the passing animations bug me a bit. The way the ball is moved around going forward I would like to see improved...maybe just me but the speed of their arms passing the ball and the velocity of the ball can be tweaked. Someone passes and by the motion of the pass it seems like it should be a hard pass but that slow lob pass comes out..maybe this is a slightly older video than the retail version and its been fixed now, but moving forward I would like a lot less of the over hand passing, and the little jump before you pass to someone 3 ft away from you needs to go also. I say this also cause its been like that in 2k bball games for awhile

I wish they would do more like College Hoops 2k8, there were so many different animations for passing. You have the ball in your hands and picked up the dribble? You still have a pivot foot and it was used to step a little to make a pass. In CH2k8 there was also a quick underhand pass to help get the ball around the defender..the chest passes looked pretty good also. Would look so much better if the person passing the ball would at least look like he's trying to pass around the defender...

No, and I hope they don't. That's one of my biggest beefs in the past, they were too slow. No explosiveness. Even bumping the speed up to 65-70, it still wasn't "right". And it messed other thing up. I'm very happy with the speed.

Like the other thread that was locked suggested, there's something wrong with the ball-net physics. The net moves nicely and all that, but something about it seems like it's just a hologram wrapping the ball, and that it doesn't happen in real time.

As if someone shot a video of a ball being shot, then shot a video of the net moving (using a fan?), then combined them together.

Hard to explain, it just doesn't seem real to me.

Spoiler

You're right, the passing is much crisper in CHoops, I don't know why they can't tune it like this in the NBA game, but this is just picking at some nits.

I wish that I hadn't of watched this video though. Just thinking about a CH2K13 with the tech and A.I. of NBA 2K13 is making me

I'm being greedy, but I'd like to see that first step burst be even a little bit more explosive.

Speaking of CH.... Lebron dribbling the ball up the court is just like they did in CH with the little bounce in his step while he dribbles

I love it. Cannot wait to get my hands on this one.

Honestly thyeyve added enough stuff here to make this feel like a brand new game.

I agree with wtf 2k12 feels sluggish where you need to bump up quickness to make it feels better but that explosiveness in movement is just not right

This is looking to be the greatest 2k basketball game ever

Reading through this thread I see a few people complaining about the nets... But I actually like it. In years past the net was like twine and would snap even on shots that were 10 feet or in, which really isnt realistic. This year it seems like the net will only really get that snap if it is a swish from 17+ feet out, which is more realistic.

Since everybody talk about the net...well there are some PC patches for 2k12 that have made the net looks great. To me the net should move a little....and not all the shots are "swishes".

On the console version of the game (PS3/XBOX) the net is too much "floaty". That's another reason to buy the PC version along with the console version ^__^

I didn't like the net movement either. As I recall it was the same thing last year when the gamescom videos came out that the net didn't move very naturally but they fixed it for the release.

2K does have the best ball physics in basketball gaming so th should have the best net movement too. Sometimes missing a shot can be beautiful just because the ball bounces so naturally.

I think there has to be a happy medium. I'll have to go back and look once more, but there's a Dwyane Wade 17 foot fallaway swish somewhere in that video (a true swish, no slight rim contact) and the net more or less sat still.

Edit: It's at the 3:14 mark below:

Still haven't fixed crowd eh? Still cheering at tip off for no reason most if not all the ppl in the crowd should be seated until the home team scores or makes a great play...not cheer recklessly for no reason at all

Wow, I just watched the gameplay again, and I missed a lot of stuff. The play where lebron crosses Metta, Kobe goes up for the block but is knocked back by Lebron. Love it. I saw zero warping, the physics actually seem realistic, the play at 9:50 steve nash is actually too weak to bump dwade, so weight actually matters. I love the missed alley oops, passes seem a little slow, but I have to actually play the game to judge the passing. I'm so hyped right now, I was distracted watching it a couple of times, but now that I finally sat down and watched it I'm excited. October please (craig voice) hurrup

Nitpick: the Lakers jersey colors are off, but their warmups have the right color lol 6:26

Besides 2k8, 2k11 is my favorite 2k to play online because you were rewarded for positioning on defense...and though there were some funky animations, it served its purpose...

More than a few members have mentioned they had a lot of success with teams like the Bucks and other defensive teams...

I feel you on individual players like T Allen though, once again, I'm hoping sig skills helps with this
I get your point and agreed, but what I meant is that players as Donte Greene or Bellinelli were much more useful in 2k11 than players like Tony Allen or Brewer, You could play good defense in 2k11, my point is that you could do it with offensive oriented players as well as with defensive specialists, and that is not realistic at all because you take a lot of value from those players, in my view that was the problem and hopefully it will be ironed out in 2k13 with Signature Skills...

Cheers! ;-)
