Even though Kobe got the most looks the CPU Lakers' offense didn't look too realistic, most of the time I saw Kobe bringing the ball up court and setting up the offense instead of Nash and Dwight and Nash didn't touch the ball near enough. (BTW the first play of the game when Dwight went up for a mid-range shot didn't look right, I would expect Dwight to post up down low and go for a hook shot instead of a mid-range J)
I know i'm niptucking here but is it me or does Lebron's headband looks extra large and misplaced? I know in real life Lebron uses a thick headband but he sports it higher on his forehead to cover up his reclining hairline, in the video it looks like it's just placed normally and looks unrealistic.
Also they haven't addressed the overhead soccer/lob passes that no one uses in real life, if they can completely eliminate that animation it would ad so much realism.
What I did like was that CPU Kobe was taking alot of mid-range pull up jumpers and the walking up the ball with the arm movement animation was pretty realistic.
Hopefully this was on Rookie/Pro Casual and an earlier built and not the final product of the game!

I can sort of understand why the Lakers offense looks disjointed with the AI running it. You're bringing in two more superstar level players into the starting 5 and I doubt 2k knows exactly what they'll be running next year. Modified Princeton Offense can mean a lot of things.
I have a feeling if the user was LA you would have seen Miami doing more "Heat-like" things. I like how Chalmers adjusted to where the ball was and was consistently trying to find open spots on the perimeter to spot up. Unfortunately the user had tunnel vision with LeBron and Wade.

I just want people to remember what got 2k to switch to a animation heavy game and take away user control...a lot of it was because people were complaining about things not looking realistic enough and "skating" complaints. Ive waited like 4 or 5 years for them to come back around to where we could control almost every aspect of ball handling and defense and this is the first year where it looks like we have it back...I would really hate for the developers to start back tracking because of some of the complaints I'm reading (before even playing the game I might add).
I hope they DO know how much we appreciate giving us control back..even if it means some skating or things not looking as realistic as a long animation sequence would look. PLEASE 2K DO NOT GO BACKWARDS IN REGARDS TO CONTROL.
I wish I could call the whole staff to make sure it tattoos in their memory bank lol. The game looks amazing in comparison to previous 2k's in my opinion and I think people are not realizing because they are too engulfed with pinpointing all the negatives harshly. Just remember the complaints from previous versions and realize what we have now. Canimations...defense..contact animations..passing...off ball movement...double teaming..off ball defense were ALL problems with previous versions and all of that looks to be fixed...APPRECIATE IT...or else we might not have it next time. Sometimes feedback can be interpreted the wrong way and developers will change things thinking that will resolve the problem. Just be careful.

A lot of great animations all around. Great walk up play calling animations and players seem a lot like themselves.
Seems like there's even more sliding on offense this year. Maybe it's because movement is separated from dribbling but there's a bit of sliding even with simple dribbles that I don't remember from past games. I wonder if the animation glitches in the new control stick system is making hesitations look like carries.
Also a ton of brute forcing with Wade and Lebron and sliding past multiple defenders. Didn't like that much at all. Felt like Wade should have lost the ball when he was brute force crossing over the defender's foot back and forth.
That spin move to the hoop by Lebron was great though.

Man, I was so hyped for 2k, until i saw that video..
..I hope that's a pre-alpha build...
. If not, I'm buying Live for 20 bucks...
. there's no way im giving 2k my 60 bucks...
. Not for a recylced 2k12 game..... Live will offer me more bang for my buck....

The hand gestures when coming up the court really makes the game that much more authentic. They should have never took that out. Game is looking VERY good though.
I saw Howard run away from the paint on penetration from a guard, I really hope this isn't an issue like the past few years. It seems like they make bigs leave the paint during penetration to keep floor spacing, which makes no sense (especially bigs with no jumper).
They should take one step out of the paint and have their hands ready for any last second passes or wrap around passes -- then one step and dunk it or lay it in. This common PG move have been pretty non existent in the game for too long, I hope its been corrected this year.
It was so frustrating playing PG in My Player or player lock in association, and make a great move to get into the paint, draw the shot blocking help defender and then pass to his open man for the flush...but no, he just ran to the corner three like Ray Allen -- except he is Kendrick Perkins and would get benched if he ever did that in a game. very frustrating for us PG's in NBA2k..

The animations look really good. The overall gameplay looks a little better than 2k12. I don't like the CPU spacing in this video though. Also, the slow passing animations and unrealistic speed seem to still be present from watching this video. It seems a little better, but not where it needs to be. Hopefully when I get the retail version these things play out better or sliders can fix it. Hopefully we can get sliders in My Player as well.
Other than that, the game play looks really good and the contact and bumping look to be vastly improved. I really can't wait to get this game.

After watching the vid three more times I can say that, if this was a low difficulty level (hopefully rookie), this game is gonna be amazing...
Looking forward to the demo. ;-)

I like all the improvements I see although the game appears to be an early build. There are things missing that were present in the Kinect Insight. The only thing that really bothers me is something that I hated from 2K12. At 06:41 Wade gets sucked to the left and pinned behind Gasol so that Kobe could get a wide open jumper. And at 09:33, when the user clicks on Wade, he is sucked back again so Kobe can get another wide open jumper. Maybe the user was pushing in the opposite direction when he selected Wade, but I hope the issue is fixed. Sometimes it felt like defensive assistance was on and sabotaging the game in 2K12. *fingers crossed*

I was a little confused on why Kobe was always bringing the ball down court rather than Nash. Is that what the RL Lakers plan to do?
The awkward put back by Howard at 1:05 bothered me. He should have dunked that.
I didn't like how the commentary was talking about what a great half it was when it was only the first quarter. Save that for the second quarter.
Other than that, I was very impressed. The Nash bounce pass to Kobe was sick.
