Not even sure it's worth one.

At least a Big Mac is satisfying.

This game doesn't deserve an 80+ page thread. As the Undertaker would say, time to rest... in... peace...

They have; it's just not to people's desires.

Everyone wants video. We aren't getting that. But to say EA hasn't done any damage control is a lie. This thread is filled with people arguing over EA's attempt to do damage control.

You may not like how they're handling it, but it's there.

Lol. Reading through this thread is funny. As usual with the internet, it's a huge overreaction. I went on Youtube just to see what the fuss was about. Honestly, it's not that bad. Does it look great? Not really. But I saw a lot of things I liked. I think some of you just like to hate on EA Sports whenever possible so a pre-alpha video is like adding fuel to your fire. I mean comon, why even dissect and discuss so heavily a PRE-ALPHA video. PRE-ALPHA! Lol. Wake me up when they release some videos of the recent build, then we can criticize.

But just for the sake of argument...let's dissect this video a little more. For one, the person using the Heat didn't really know what they were doing, so it looked ugly on that side of the ball. The Thunder looked a lot better, but that's not saying much. Kevin Durant's shot selection was very questionable but again, I attribute that to it being a PRE-ALPHA build. All the under the hood stuff probably wasn't fully implemented.

The court spacing for the most part was fantastic. A few times it got bunched up but not every play will be perfect. Overall it was nice.

There were also a lot of very natural pick and rolls happening. Not like other games where you have to press the Pick and roll button, wait for a big guy to run out and set one, etc. No, this footage had pick and rolls happening very naturally and fluidly, like in the real NBA. So that I liked. There was definitely some movement with a purpose.

The rim physics, as in the ball hitting the rim and bouncing off, was very nice. It made for some long rebounds at times, which other games lack. Rebounding overall looked very nice.

The presentation was solid. I like Van Gundy and Breen a lot, so that automatically wins points with me. I also watched the video a few times on mute just to pay more attention to the gameplay and not the presentation.

So yeah, not that bad. Got me interested to see some recent build footage though, for sure.

I'm pretty sure work ethic isn't the issue. That's just a slap in the face to the those guys. If you'd like someone to blame, blame the suits for not allowing the creative freedom that 2k obviously extends to their team.

the build that you seen wasn't pre-alpha, thats the whole issue here.... EA says it is, but guys who seen it at E3 said that its better than that build, so this a pre-alpha build at all, go and do some research in nba elite 11, and you will see that the same thing happened there is happening all over again, they said the same thing about elite 11 being a pre-alpha stage, but it was just like retail version..... so believe that if you like, but most of us here isn't buying what EA is saying, all EA has to do is drop a snippet of a video to show or proves us wrong, but their nowhere in sight,

Amen on the work ethic thing. Respect the effort these folks put in. Criticism is fine where it's warranted. CONSTRUCTIVE. But calling folks lazy is wrong.

There's a LOT of crazy in your post man, in my opinion. I'll just say that. But if it's how you really feel, I can respect that.

This might be the base skeltons of the system without the addition of physics and modeling, but if all they are adding are those two key aspects **** that. Another 2k year it is sign me up.

Sorry, I can't. He's exactly the reason why there's a trail of battered bodies (Live 06-09) and a dead one buried in a building's foundation somewhere (E-Lite). Guys like him looking at stuff they know ain't right about a so called simulation basketball title and making up excuses for it get no respect whatsoever cause they aren't helping the community at all with that nonsense. It's exactly why EA feels it's okay to not say a word about this game since E3 and as soon as the curtain gets yanked back on them again exposing their crap they pop up to keep the masses in check with a new buzzword and disappear like Batman into the night again.

Can't we just move on?

It's obvious the majority of us are not buying this game. Let the people buy it if they want. If they want to pay for trash, let them. Either way, EA won't make a profit on this game.

I just don't understand why we're arguing about this game still. It's like arguing about, wait, this is the worst sports game on the market. It's like arguing about which WNBA team is going to win the title, or whatever they call it.

Edit: I'm not saying arguing is wrong, it's just pointless, seeing how bad this game is and how EA has treated us.

It's time to stop being EA or NBA Live fanboys and stat tellng them the truth about how bad their basketball series is. There is no way in the world you can look at the NBA2k13 dev insights and Gamescom videos, then look at the leaked NBA Live footage and say what you saw from the so called early build of Live "wasn't that bad". You dudes need to wake up and realize that the NBA Live series is at the end of it's life and can no longer compete with NBA2K.

Oh, the drama.....you'd swear it was a soap opera up in this joint.

All I know is the footage I viewed (multiple times) wasn't as bad as people are making it out to be. I'll wait for a demo and reserve judgment. Good day.

EWWW It looks awful. The only good thing are the faces lol

Brotha.. when a game looks worse than NBA 09, it is that bad.

I have nothing more to say... Check for yourself and see

# 780 fluent2332 @ 08/24/12 02:08 PM
I watched the footage numerous times and paid close attention. It didn't look like a terrible game from what I saw. It was rough around the edges but again, PRE-ALPHA. And yes I believe them when they say it was pre-alpha. You guys are just rushing to judgment (like usual on the internet). No offense but that's my opinion.

Boilerbuzz, if you say there's a lot of crazy in my post, why not address it and point out what you disagree with? Are you saying it's crazy to say the court spacing was good, or the rim physics were solid, or the presentation was nice? If so, address it and we can discuss it. Actually, scratch that, I have no real desire anymore to discuss PRE-ALPHA footage. Like I said, wake me up when EA releases some recent build footage or a demo. Then we can talk.
