Im happy that we have a fantastic game left but it is disappointing that there is literally no choice. Honestly the demos do enough to keep basketball fresh for me. I could try out all the games and genuinely choose which one I liked and would eventually buy.
It's not just basketball. We have essentially 1 game for every sport, and some that have been taken from entirely (NCAA Basketball and Baseball)

The sliding going on is way out of control. You put that with the same set animation where it looks like the defenders are hugging a barrel and hardly moving their arms, and it literally looks like they are being controlled by a mouse.

Look at how they move. it seriously looks like they are being clicked on with a mouse and then dragged and dropped to position. It's actually similar to how the QB sometimes moves in Madden.

I think they have a good base to go with. Graphics look fine to me. The atmosphere is great. Good commentary. Signature shots and the Live control scheme.

Is it improved from live 10?...no not based on that vid and in the end, the final version will probably be on par with 10.. just not a great improvement.
Can we stop making excuses here?

Show me in the video where you saw Signature Shots.

Does anyone remember this:

This was 5 years ago! 5.

What we saw in that Live 13 video was as generic as generic gets. Everyone can do the same move everyone else can do.

When was the last time in your life you saw Shane Battier taking step-back jumpers? He couldn't even do that at Duke!

It's a complete disgrace what has happened to this series. And people scratch their heads as to why some of us are so mad.

WOW! This looks abolutely TERRIBLE! It looks like a game from 4 years ago. The player movement looks like crap and the player models from afar look terrible. Nothing looks smoothe and everything seems like it has a bit of LAG to it. This is so dissapointing

I posted this to contrast the Elite video and here we are years later, still doing the same thing with even less results

Eh in any basketball game anyone can do a fadeaway 3. He was pretty damn good in the finals so I'll give it to him.
You mean Westbrook's arms flailing to the side looking like he's doing a breaststroke? That's sig to you?
Same with KD holding his right arm out?

Come on man.

Westbrook doesn't shoot like that man, its not even close

To be honest, I'm not sure any of those shots are comparable to a NBA players shot...

Either its his shot or its not

Don't call it signature if its not what he does.. its not even as close as those 08 video clips.. Come on man. If you ever want them to do better they need to know you demand better quality for your money, not making excuses for stuff... you sit here and know its not even close to a replica and see it with your own eyes and and still sit in denial... I just cant stand that.

That first sentence confirms you don't know EA very well. They were all set to release NBA Elite 11 until the demo was released, they heard tons of negative feedback, and they cancelled it right before it was supposed to release.

...what has Live done in the past to garner this blind loyalty from some to a game that's been screwing you over going on 8 years now. You love the PS2 versions THAT much to give them a pass for this gen?

Some of y'all defending this need to take a step back and think for a minute. There was absolutely nothing redeemable in the on court gameplay at all.

Agreed 100%. EA needs to follow the NBA Elite 12 business model with this one. That video would be hard for a medical examiner to look at. Straight brutal.

As horrible as this is, I think they should just release it regardless. Just to give gamers one other option. I don't think NBA Live can afford to be cancelled again.

What happened to the different body types?

damage control at its best ...

all we have to do is flip back to page 1 of this thread and press play, at that point we will all realize that what you just wrote is bs. There is no conclusive evidence to prove this is pre-alpha other than the fact it looks like fecal matter in video game form. Otherwise the interface detail, menu options, online connectivity, presentation detail, and the fact that players have accessories down pat all say contrary.

pre-alpha my left butt cheek... and stop insulting Live 10 by saying this albatross will be on par with it.

Didn't the team scrap assets from Live 10 for Live 13? Why is everyone surprised then that it looks like Live 10?

They didn't start from scratch people, no budget for that.

No they scrapped it from Elite 11.....thats why people are complaining it looks like Elite....

They shouldve started with Live 10 as a base, its only logical as it was their best Live to date. Nope, not EA. They wanted a challenge, lets give it to the hockey guy and let the basketball guru (Mike Wang) go....Well turns out Hockey guys doesnt havea clue how basketball is played, lets send it over to the guys who make Madden....and yet we wonder why this looks like dog sh1t

this was taken between jun 7 and jul 7

i think they need to smoothin out the gameplay, fix defending bugs, change player models, and add different jumpshots

Signature JaVale McGee Animations.

Maybe it's JaVale on the cover and that's why they haven't released one yet, because he keeps forgetting to go to the photo shoot.
