Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?

It all seemed too good to be true.

Now after this week's bombshells that you cannot edit players in connected careers or play any other games in the mode other than your own, it seems like the Madden team is once again forcing you to play your game their way. To me, this is a huge problem. Others of you? Maybe not so much. But let's hear it: Has the 'closed' nature of Connected Careers turned you away and/or cooled your enthusiasm about Madden NFL 13?

Yes M14 will likely add multiple users in one console or team but Looman has said it needs to be done right.

Even for OS i thought the future of multiplayer wouldnt get heat.

I'll never buy another Madden at Full price as long as EA is forcing me to use Donny Moore's Rosters in MY Franchise.........

Yes I hate his ratings that much

I can't even get past that let alone if the other CPU Logic Shenanigans started up and I couldn't fix it

To me without the features we lost this year, the game might just as well have one mode....offline/Online Play Now and Id still have a hard time justifying full price for that even if I got every single one of my Gameplay Desires added into the game

There's a big difference between an M-rated FPS and an E-rated sports title. Sports titles are perfectly designed to be played locally. These are games that can played by any age group and are often played by people who live together. Now the only way for these people to play together is Play Now mode.

Also I believe in Halo 4 it will still be possible to play the story with a friend through couch co-op. And unless they've changed things since Halo 3 we'll still be able to have guests play online as well. Which is far better than what Madden 13 will be offering.

They are full of themselves saying they cannot add coop in CC. They have it in Play Now so it cannot be that difficult. Coop was the only thing I ever played and have done so for 20 years. That's all they had to have to keep me interested and they couldn't even do that. Probably could add it easily still, but the ignorant dictators won't.

Sorry, they stripped the game completely. Also, imagine being the 49ers and getting a QB with the #16, or the Bears and having a Running Back with #34...That's just wrong. They took away the customization and turned it into their experience without any capability of personalizing it or playing on the same team with a family member.

They F***ed up!!!!!

It crazy I already preordered this game a month or so ago for $45 and I am still thinking about cancelling. Can't play against my neighbor in an offline franchise is just sickening to me. As mentioned before this is 2k5 with updated rosters, graphics, and a couple twitter feeds. RTP great plus then we minus for no couch offline franchise, minus for no customization of rosters (which I can handle for the most part), minus for no draft class NCAA; Need I say more? Can't believe they thought that being unable to play franchise with your own brother at home was a good idea. Just insulting.

When was it ever done wrong?? It was other areas of the game that needed to be fixed and done right..

I've been posting on a couple of forums saying how Im not buying M13. I have been watching NFL top 100, Greatest Games, and my fav Bengals Website has me super excited about the upcoming season. With that being said I find myself getting weak and going back on my word and preparing to stand in line at midnight like I have for the past 6 years to buy Madden13.
UGHHHHHH! Damn you Looman for taking out Player edits and the ability to play any game during (franchise mode) CCMode!!!! I want to show those punks at EA and boycott buying but I HAVE TO HAVE MY yearly MADDEN FIX!!!
I have already sold M12, was sick of the horrible *** commentary and had to play with the sound off and music on and that sucked!! Maybe it wont be so bad not editing my MLB to have a dark visor or giving my rookies play wrist bands and having all my DB's with no socks just leggings. UGHHHH!

Major UI overhaul and CCM make this feature more than simply , RB to change team at anytime. Esp when their is more steps as well as Online/Offline convergence its alot more complicated then previously.

I hear what you saying but this feature should have been included with the new engine they were building. This has been part of the game from the beginning and it's very important to alot of offline gamers who like to play there franchise with family and friends along with having the ability to control all 32 teams.. There's no excuse really but what can you do.. I'll be getting the game like always but losing this feature was a big disappointment for me..

I hear you also, I play 100% offline and always have. I know its been part of the game and it will come back but with a year of pain to that specific 2+ offline segment.
Do we like it of course not, their is a difference between saying what needs to be added (not that they on the whole dont already know) and focusing on just the things missing. If nothing was being changed and we lost features i would rage but when we are effectively getting a much better and bigger game mode its getting to a moot point.

For example you can now do trades, chart etc at maddencarrers.com away from home. You could split the tasks between 2+ people

or if you have two gold accounts on the console play in the same franchise with 2 teams.

So much better immersion.

You are right, most fans buy despite something they like being gone. It's like dating the hott girl that cant cook! What would you rather have the mediocre chic that can cook every meal or the hott girl thats a ten, but cant cook? Madden is the hott chic, that cant cook but she looks great (graphics) has features (CCM,Legends,Infinity engine) Nice rack etc etc.

It's more like Madden is the only girl in town. She looks nice and has some nice features, but if your priorities are completely different how long will you be happy in the relationship?

I'm pretty sure my immersion 'bubble' is going to 'burst' every time I go into the game and see something wrong/missing and can't do a thing about it anymore.
Those little things are like gnat bites one or two are ok but if there's thousands ithey will drive me nuts

I'm not certain how many people have 2 live gold accounts on the same console, but your forgetting that the second account will also need the EA online pass (additional $10 charge). However you spin it, you will need to spend additional monies if your going to do a co-op franchise offline whereas before it wasn't necessary. Also, how is taking away things the user can do more immersive?
