Just downloaded and played my first game..

Impressions:

Love opening scene and cutscenes (Studio Updates)

1st play= suction TFL

I think the graphics are actually improved

Passing system is GREAT

Sliders will greatly improve this...

Great animation picking off a pitch (FOR A TOUCHDOWN!!)

Love the bottom ESPN line.

errrggggggh? feet sink into field?

Ice the Kicker... FTW

Overall Im actually impressed... Yes I know many people are dissapointed with no RTP or Infinity Engine.. but this game has made MANY improvements for this year. Im excited for another year of college football and many people need to look at the positives for this year!

Other notes:

Feels like custom sliders will be a MUST this year
Rosters will need re-rating

Some impressions:

*Took a WR Reverse out of the Wildcat formation about 70 yards on the 2nd play of the game playing as KSU. The hole looked great opening up, but then the WR looked like an idiot running with the ball. The arm holding the football didn't move and he was running at an incredible rate.

*I like how the names/numbers below the players pop out this year. White with black trim. Looks a lot better.

*I don't like the replays/cut scenes. If that's what "Motion Blur" looks like, I'm not a fan. Hopefully it's tightened up for the retail release. Really blurry. I'll chalk it up to "demo".

*Wow, actual punt return blocking!

*Had THREE Studio Updates in the 1st Quarter. Two of them were TCU updates. I don't care what TCU does THAT much.

*SIX Studio Updates in one game. 4 of them were for TCU. 1 per Quarter is enough, thanks.

*Love the passing game. Going to be fun when I actually use a QB that can throw the ball, unlike Klein - who is a beast to run with, however.

*Just had a 9 play, 118 yard drive according to the drive summary. Someone tell me how that is possible. TAKE OUT PENALTY YARDAGE PLEASE.

*The Wildcat formation actually works this year. That's nice to see. Works almost too well, but this is Varsity.

*I'd say I never got a pass rush with KSU, but I'm going to blame that on KSU's defensive line not being very good this year. They lost their 2 best from last year.

I won 28-0. Baylor didn't do anything on offense, but that's, yet again, because this is on Varsity and that's incredibly easy for me.

Felt a lot smoother than NCAA '12. Players actually felt like they had weight to them and the hits felt harder. The passing game is awesome.

I'm having fun with this game, and that's all I can ask for in a video game.

I've had lots of studio updates also but I think it's just because we're playing on 3 minute quarters.

Hopefully in a 5+ minute/qtr game the studio updates will be less frequent and spread apart.

I also feel the studio updates cut in at odd times:
-After a sack on 4th and goal I got one
-After a 55yd TD pass
-Returning a punt for a TD.

I played a game with Lsu vs. ALA. Overally I liked it. It was a close low scoring a game where I shut out Ala. And I played a game with USC vs ORe which was 24-17. I can see myself playing this game. The one thing is that I got 6-7 Ints in 2 games combined.
I also played the RG3 thing because since I play RTG it would tell me how it will play. It sounded like they had his voice in the game. I like that there was commentary hopefully it is in RTG too. Even though this is just a demo, I have a strong feeling(85%) that RTG will be still locked to 5 min quarters. If so, I will be disappointed because it should have been in. But, I was able to get 38 attempts and 14 runs in 5 min quarters. If I can get 20-25+ carries as a HB I will be good. I know the main improvement for RTG will be Reaction time

TCU and WVU are members of the Big 12 conference so that's why that game is focued upon, and while it may be overblown I hope this is due to this being the demo. Hopefully the number of times each game is updated decreases, but the total number of updates do not (2 TCU, 1 OU ISU, 1 UT TTU).

I'm loving it. My only complaint is the motion blur looks terrible. Its over done by a mile in the cut scenes. However, studio updates are kinda annoying to be honest. It was 3 and 1 going into score with 24 seconds left on their 2, I'm down by 6 in the game and then "lets take it back to the studio...". Not good timing. I don't care about other teams as I'm trying to win this game.

The passing is much improved though. I also noticed the QB sneak isn't an automatic fall down anymore. So happy about that.

I wish I had Broadcast Cam, esp on the Special Teams!!!

A must for me to edit Speed/Acceleration down for players so that "Speed/Explosiveness" won't be applied to so many players and to give some more room to a really small field again.

Like that WR's are aggressive on balls in the air.

Loved throwing a deep outside comeback to an "Area" shorter than the route and the WR came back 5 yrds making a diving sideline catch.

Love that there are dropped wide-open passes that occur from time to time.
-hit a WR in the helmet when not looking, was frustrated but funny at the same time.

Love the speed of the pulling linemen and how they block through the levels.
-wish they would level/pancake players though!

Still need more pressure on Block attempts, esp punt block when there's an all-out block on.

Must lower the Tackle ratings to bring more muffed tackle animations out.

**I think it's me wanting to see something that's really not there, but it just seems like there are some different QB throwing motions going on!
-or maybe release times depending on Arm Strength?

Still trying to figure out how a Star Player impacts Off-Gameplay.
-does AI look to get the ball to them?

Wondering what Rating dictates how fast the "Squigglies" will show on a QB at an Away Game?
-Especially since it is said to be Dynamic and is affected by gameplay.

Will stay up and play some more games.

Even in 9 minute quarters, I won't want 6 updates. Once per Quarter is enough. They can put 2-3 games in each time for all I care. Hopefully my game was just on the outskirts of what the norm is. Some people are saying they only got 3. I'll play another few games tomorrow to see if it changes.

Also, I know who is in the Big 12. Look at my avatar. .

Kansas State is really fun to play with. Colin Klein = right handed Tim Tebow

I liked the Studio updates, I found the gave me a nice break every once in awhile. My favorite part was when I was playing the Oregon USC game, at the end he mentioned Oregon played Colorado the week before.

Comeback routes are beautiful.

EA is notorious for overemphasizing their 'key updates'.

Chances are in the retail version, stadium updates will be toned down or not be focused on a single team multiple times.

I have to tear apart my Xbox because the disc tray got knocked loose, so I'll wait for the PS3 version to try it out on that.

ya'll should try hesiman mode I actually like it better playing as RG3. It wasn't as easy compared to regular games since the difficulty level is on easy.

Almost ran a 40+ punt return back b/c they actually block now got to the 2 yard line before I got push out of bounds.

should be better controls for oline play and dplay. especially offensive line trying to set up as a block its hard to get in stance at snap of ball. you should be able to go help out other lineman instead of waiting for your turn to block If you miss b/c your guy stands straight up instead of be in form already you give up negative play.

Just had a play on defense were my DL was 4 quarterbacks, and my entire back 7 was wide receivers. Using UO against USC

Gametrack is still in just not in the demo to save space per Bumble14_ea on twitter. And no I will not link to it.

Yup! I believe one of the captains for Oregon was a white guy with blond hair I've never seen before in NCAA.

Already said, but man was it nice to hear the crowd ramp up when I made a big run or catch.

# 420 JMD @ 06/06/12 07:17 AM
Wow, just threw a long pass, it was tipped by a defender, the ball hit the ground ,a second defender picked it up and started running with it. I made the tackle, their ball. Interesting. The auto replay clearly showed the ball on the ground. I'm sure it's just a demo glitch. Still a bit bothersome.
