Same 2K12 pick and roll/pop animation which is ineffective again since it can be easily be avoided if u go under, bad spacing by cpu teammates, it looks like they are running randomly and clustered when Manu/Parker drives, no help D on the drive to block the path of the ball handler and that Ginobili layup looks awkward/weird, I've never seen that in a real NBA game before...

Not really impressed tbh, even if it's an early built, the fundamentals of basketball should already be implemented...

If it was you would have saw a red and blue ring. I only saw blue.

That's my point.

We know they are here already lol They have been for how many years now?
They don't need to create this big hype machine. They could have easily not shown anything or acted like there were no remarkable updates, and then dropped it on us later. Don't get people all souped like there is going to be some noticeably big changes to reveal that.

I definitely think they hurt themselves more than they helped.

Saw the same lack of defense in the paint, the poor spacing and collision detection from last year. I don't know. I think they would have better served just keeping hush until later when they had some of that ironed out.

I guess im one of the few who seen Harden slide(just enough just like 2k12) so Manu can complete his euro step move. Im just assuming but default gameplay is on pro, which means this would get worst with higher difficulty. Clutch factor doesnt effect this, and sliders can only do so much.

Parker had a open shot for a split second. Cpu still bringing there defenders to the ball handler. Cpu still becoming superman when clock is running down.

I dont expect much from 2k this year. Hopefully revamped association. Better online for the online players. Make sure it releases on PC so we can fix issues.

Ill have to take the word of the console players about graphics. I play on PC, which I will heavily mod.

Cant tell from the video but please dont have that shiny look for sweat. Really dont understand what happen to progressive sweat.

That depends on whether or not CPU defenders can still shuffle their feet at sonic speeds and change direction (slide) without losing any momentum.

The thank you for the fans slogan is just plain corny with the way they implemented the allstar content. As for the dunk contest footage what was 2k thinking. Guitar hero lol implemented to complete the dunk. Im in disbelief. As far as the full court gameplay it looked like i was watching 2k12.

My problem is that his drive to the hoop is just one continuous, smooth animation straight to the hoop. Nothing knocked him off balance or anything.

Teammate AI/logic would be another player coming over to trap him or something which would be nice.

But he was scoring on that play. No doubt about it.

The Westbrook drive was nice because he sort of took a hard step, laid it up and fell because of the contact.

Manu glided to the hoop. I guess it's a combination of bad collision detection, poor foot planting (sliding) and the AI you mentioned.

2K should be nailing things like that at this point. I don't see how they're so far ahead and just resting on their previous success.

Cuts off early but here's partial footage

Watching that tiny gameplay vid I'm trying to determine that if you press turbo do they do that annoying hesitation dribble....

Hmmm...players might be able to fight through screens better instead be stuck to the screener.

I don't get the feeling 2K is resting on their previous success at all. A lot of the stuff the 2K guy threw out in that interview was likely said simply to evoke positive energy. However, there was one thing he mentioned that is no doubt truthful. He said they've never shown at E3 before because they'll very much right in the middle of their production cycle. It's sort of like unveiling a new highway after asphalt has been layed down on part of one lane.

Before people bring up casual setting's just remember casual settings doesn't change the bad spacing or the skating or the bad collision detection.

I'm sorry but if you're showing something like this in June you're going to run into problem with customers after this is released.

Not to mention you just showed some BS dunk contest featuring a mini button-mashup & you want your loyal consumers to pay 5 bucks for it?

I see a NBA 2k14 wish list going 60 pages before next February smh..

  1. Game looks to be running smoother from what I can tell from playing on my 360
  2. That was a new falling layup animation by Westbrook. There was contact after the layup that I don't recall ever seeing before. It looks like they are trying to remove warping so possibly more contact in the paint. Westbrook had no place to land
  3. Player models look to be the same to be honest I guess this is probably the last thing to be updated being that you don't want make a model too early as things can change between now and October.
  4. All Star Slam dunk looks like for the casual fans with the guitar hero button combos lol.
  5. I am not the biggest accesory guy but I did notice they had Durant's last year shoes on not this year.
  6. I saw no out of the ordinary speed boost so hopefully the CPU speed issue is fixed.

Honestly, I rather have the continuous, smooth animation than to drive and my players does some stupid contact animation layup.

I love 2k and to be honest if the new game had real sneakers, better.passing and the fit jerseys I'd be happy. This all star weekend slam dunk contest on the other hand is a HUGE disappointment!! They come up with that??!!! Im speechless on the dunk contest it ruins the immersion with the matrix slowdown and the guitar hero buttons. I hope like hell they smarten up and change this. This may be 2k getting a little too cute with adding things.

# 236 Angel_G @ 06/05/12 12:18 AM
Looks the same just new scoreboard

# 237 ksuttonjr76 @ 06/05/12 12:19 AM
When passing the ball, players are not doing unnecessary movements to catch it. They makes me so mad when I pass the ball they become wide receivers and try to catch the ball behind their head with one head.

My guess is that the layup animation (the stick was moved to shoot) started at the top of the key. Nothing branched off from it.

Maybe it's expectations from seeing all of the other E3 videos. But I just feel like that shouldn't happen at this point with such a good game.

We're not talking for them to bring in something groundbreaking here.

But I saw enough of that (especially from the CPU) in 2K12.

I respectfully dispute the quoted. There's a reason 2K has historically refused to release footage of their "new" game this early in the year. It's because they're right in the middle of production. The bits and pieces we've seen at this time of year in seasons past very frequently look nothing like the eventual game itself.

Also, while I agree the Slam Dunk Contest controls are nothing less than startling, customers will not have to five dollars from it. They're just have to put five dollars down toward their eventual purchase.

I didn't see the presentation, so I have no clue what you guys are talking about. What's up with the dunk contest controls?

I'm trying to figure out the whole Guitar Hero corollary.
