Realistic body contact driving into the paint still doesn't exist.

I feel like 2K might be the victim of being 2nd to the plate in terms of Dunk Contest implementation. I've always had the feel they were looking to make theirs as different from Live's as possible, hence the initial outdoor environment. I can't say I agree with this route, as Live's dunk contest was a great amount of fun, like you said.

Plus, I imagine they didn't want folks to think this new dunk contest was just their old way dressed with a different background, so they probably felt obligated to create a new control system. I just can't see how this would be enjoyable.

Soooooooooo, we waited all night to see 2k12 ver. 1.5 and an arcade style dunk contest.

On top of that, you have to pre-order to get it?

Definitely a big smh as of right now.

I thought the fast break looked much better than previous versions. Glad to see the wing players at least making an attempt to fill their lanes instead of drifting off into space.

Also gameplay looks WAY too fast.

Nice! Ginobili dashes into the paint for an easy layup with 2/3 seconds left on the clock, and everybody still insists on doing constant up and unders. *Sigh*

You should have known that this is what you would get.

i'll give 2k the benefit of the doubt - the game in this video may be using "casual" settings. hopefully on harder settings there is actual contact.

on a positive note - i do see better layup animations...they seem quicker and more contextually appropriate.

Righto. I feel as though that's always been the case. The first release of new 2K information always looks closer to the previous year's game than it does to being something new.

Kinda sick that we see one penetration by the AI and it does a up & under.
A canned up and under

Man, if it was as easy to predict the lottery numbers as it is to predict what 2K would show at E3...

There does seem to be some perimeter bump animations in the gameplay this year. Also, I'm noticing that when the players are using turbo, there's no "acceleration" animation. Taking players off the dribble could possibly be better this year. Derrick Rose is about to be a monster....

Maybe, and maybe not. You don't make an exception to show gameplay when you normally wouldn't, to reveal that. They didn't showcase anything that would help their cause.

Also, I feel like that dunk contest is going to lose it's luster after about 3 games. People will get tired of doing the same redundant button mashing and will ignore it.

that ginobili layup was a bit too easy...but I think it was just the result of the user playing crappy defense.

I'm pretty sure their cause is NOT to show anything yet, but just tell you "We're here".

That's unacceptable at this point. They're better than that.
Teammate AI has always been a problem. I can't say hope anymore they MUST FIX THE AI especially Teammates AI. AI, collisions and speed must be fixed in 2k13.

defensive locomotion looks a bit tighter as well.

I see a lot of things to like in this clip: quicker dribbling, tighter defensive player movement, quicker layups.

i'm not sure why everyone's complaining so much. the clip is not long enough to pick up any major flaws, but I can see some small improvements.
