Same with Madden
Yeah Im not going to put too much stock into this because it looked like for whatever reason the crowd audio wasn't syncing up right

In future vids though I want to see them add large/loud crowd swells during Nantz an Simms intro.....They need to avoid what NCAA has with all that Dead Time in their intros

To me, it's a bad sign when EA, or any developer, play up improvements to commentary and presentation. It's freaking gameplay we care about most. Yes, presentation, sound, graphics are hugely important when it comes to the overall experience, but i'd be happy with no commentary and average graphics if gameplay was awesome. For what it's worth, i found the commentary in this clip awful, no emotion, robotic and plain dull. As an aside, why do the players look like they are weightless!

"Well you got a lead, now your able to go out there and drive down the field and score a touchdown? This changes how the other team is gonna handle the game from here on out"

Repetitive
in this video, just hope its not that way in game.

The QB cadences sound great. Hopefully in the retail the crowd goes NUTS when scoring a touchdown or getting a turnover - just like Sunday.

This is an old build gameplay wise and the fact that they are saving the big gameplay reveal for E3 speaks volumes to the potential improvements awaiting seeing as that's when the most eye will be on the product.

Umm...That looked and sounded horrible.

Not impressed.

The dumervil sack was a joke and Line play seemed as bad as ever. No "riding" The DE around the QB at all, means no pocket.

Same crappy Audible animations, defense players look like statues Pre Snap.

Same "Instant Stop" celebrations by teammates, everyone does there own thing, no one "Crowds" the dude the made the play like in real life.

Just bad IMO.
Yeah im not imprssed, Lets just hope this build is minus the " New" Revolutionary gameplay addition.

Not once did I hear Jim Nantz or Phil Simms say a players name during gameplay. Thats kind of a let down. I was hoping to hear them say players name is in for the touch down instead of just he is in for the touch down.

O well.

Appreciate the footage, but that did nothing for me.

i still don't understand why they still have the same lackluster audible system. when im playing another user on the same xbox/ps3 i have to tell them to look down....what happen to Up on the right stick was deep pass, Down was run, right was play action and left was quick pass.. i hate i cant disguise my audibles
Actually you can. If you hold the A button on the play you want it will select it and you can scroll to the other plays. Only when you release the A button will it call that play, even if you have a new play highlighted. It works the same way in the play call screen. I still agree that the old system was 100x better.

Wow... it still sounds poorly edited together and super generic.

Sorry, I expected more.

Wow. The looked and sounded great. Just those two in the booth makes everything sound and feel so much more authentic.

Really excited to see more.

Good - Smooth intros with Sims. QB cadence sounds awesome. Just knowing that actually Brady and Rodgers was cool. The INT actually looked organic. Johnson didn't warp into the path, he took proper steps and leaned for the pick while looking for the ball. WR seperation looks easier to identify because of the improved interactions.

Bad - seemed like the commentary lacked excitement. Maybe it was lack of crowd notice when it was a big play. Sims repeated the same line twice in a sample segment that should have been showing variety. Some delay in commentary reaction.

Hopefully the sack on the screen play gets fixed. So tired of the QB not passing the ball soon enough.

I was left unimpressed after watching the video. It says big plays but the commentary sound lifeless. Also, the timing seemed delayed.

CD guys can you comment on the commentary you heard last week. Does it sound better or is it more or less the same.

I hope to hear more team/player specific lines as footage comes out of E3.
I did like that Nantz was on time with the interception call though in the SD/KC game. "He's looking to - that's an interception." That speaks to the new tech they're using, and how it allows them interrupt lines when big plays happen.

# 37 TheTruth437 @ 05/14/12 09:37 PM
The commentary seems to be too generic. The line play looks very similar to last year. The read and react system looked pretty good, though. Overall, I'm unimpressed.

same ol madden lol, why cant they say the players name or team's name on the intros, ints, tds?

# 39 msdm27 @ 05/14/12 09:41 PM
Specific detail:
Whoever has ever been to or watched a game on tv on Qualcomm stadium can attest to the fact that the field is hardly ever in top condition. In this video it looks like a pool table, it actually looks to me like something out of PS1, like an all-green carpet.

I really hope the field degradation is good and all stadium turf/grass don't look like a green wall.

Watch the livestream. They had a couple of nice intros where they did mention the teams and players.
