The NBA 2K12 demo is available now for the 360. Later today for the PS3.

Scroll to the "N" section to find it. It's 1.1 GB.

Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks (Can only play as the Mavs)
Difficulty set to default/casual
No commentary
1 - 4 Minute Quarter
Can't run plays
No sliders, options, camera views, etc.
Free throw bug, after 3 second violation, is demo bug only.

Having a great time with the demo, you're really going to have to know how to play defense to stop a good offensive team this year.

I also noticed that the Mavericks are SLOW. Staying in from of Wade and LeBron is a big chore, and if you move over to double team, they will make you pay for it. It seems like Mario Chalmers is the best three point shooter in the NBA after playing this game.

I cannot wait for Oct. 4th, i'm having so much fun with this demo.

I'm sure you may speak like this, but I find it hard to believe that you would type like this unless it was on purpose...

The A.I. is leaps and bounds more intelligent as far as basketball goes, and this is only a 4 minute quarter on casual/default. There are more pump fakes, up fakes, head fakes, and dribble drives from players (mainly Wade and LeBron) than I've ever seen in a video game. They are doing moves that you see guys do in the gym. Bosh is nice down low. As for what we control, Dirk is outrageous, almost unstoppable. I can use Kidd like he does in real life, and post up and overpower Chalmers/House to get easy buckets. As soon as we can use plays, its going to be so much fun.

BTW: I coach 7th grade basketball, and that's where the fundamentals all begin for most kids...so trust me, I know basketball (to touch on your 2nd post).

Ok, let me first say I haven't played a demo this much since that "U R NOT e" demo for the PSX so long ago.

I love the spacing now, you won't see those moments where everyone is all clustered together on offense. The floor spacing looks so realistic.

The pump faking CPU is insane. I love it. You can't tell if you're playing one of your sim friends or the CPU. The CPU's shot selection also seems better. Players are luring in the double team to kick out is cool. Also, I just saw Wade and LBJ do a give n go thing that blew my mind.

If there was any doubt on buying this day one, that's all gone now. Now I just have to decide on keeping 2k11 and M12 lol.

anyone know how to just dribble the ball side to side and between your legs... like you're setting up a play. ((Like what Eric Gordon does at the top of the key in the Momentous Trailer))

Another nugget:

You think can change your shot in midair, even on a fadeaway.

I was posting Haslem just inside the 3-pt line, did a fadeaway with Dirk, but Haslem was ready and had his hand in the path of the ball. I moved the shot stick again and Dirk moved the ball ever so slightly to the left to avoid Haslem's hand and.....

I missed the shot but it looked nice as h***.

just lost myself with the shimmy shots
i read all the controls tutorial but when i try shimmy, all he does is fake
how can i perform single and double shimmy? ( if it's about live dribble and hold ball please explain me how to go to hold ball from live dribble, mean how to stop dribble)

Instead of manually posting up, give the ball to a perimeter player and let the AI set up Dirk and Chandler with proper post position. That way its not in live dribble.

Then when you pass it to them in the post you have to flick the right stick from left to right(or right to left) real quick

i tried to do what you said
i passed the ball from kidd to dirk about the low post area, then press y to post up
after i hit right stick real quick left n right but still all he did is perform fake
what did i do wrong?

when u go left to right i think u have to hold it to the right.im not sure tho

It's possible to dribble the ball onto a teammate's legs and lose it that way.
