The NBA 2K12 demo is available now for the 360. Later today for the PS3.

Scroll to the "N" section to find it. It's 1.1 GB.

Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks (Can only play as the Mavs)
Difficulty set to default/casual
No commentary
1 - 4 Minute Quarter
Can't run plays
No sliders, options, camera views, etc.
Free throw bug, after 3 second violation, is demo bug only.

The PSN store is still being updated so all the items are not in place yet.

Don't get me wrong, but this game is sick

The graphics look better, tighter controls, and it just feels smoother and looks more fluid. The problem I have is only one 4 min quarter and you can only play with one team. Haven't we gone past this with this limited demo stuff on sports games. EA has learned there lesson with offering a whole game of 5 min Q's and being able to play with either team. Let us have a chance to get use to the game and the controls so when we do get the retail version in a couple weeks were good to go.

Not gonna lie czar... This lack of physical animations concerns me for competitive play. I relied on those animations to tame turbo mashers last year. So far I'm not confident I can force people to play smart ball to win... I for see frustration in my future. Even if I dis engage and cut off the angle the shot stick pull up is cash. so I feel vulnerable on perimeter .... What am I missing?

I got J.Kidd hot by hitting my first three buckets.
Chandler was cutting the key, Kidd dribbling and Kidd dropped a no look pass to Chandler for the easy lay-in.
Great demo.
So good.

I was freaking out at a off the backboard Smash I left for Chandler off a pass from Caron...it was nasty as hell. Wish I got it on my phone.

That's realistic, though. You have to pick your poison when guarding star players, especially if you're controlling a poor defender. You can either funnel them into the help defense, or let them take the shot from a greater distance. What isn't realistic is being able to use someone like Fisher to bump Derrick Rose all the time.

Waiting for the demo to download. Quick (trivial) question. Does Dirk adjust the side of his jersey (around the collar area) all the time like he does in real life? It's a running joke me and a few friends have -- how many times he'll do it in a game. Just wanted to know if that was something 2k Sports caught and maybe threw in the game.

I haven't even noticed in the game. I've played it through maybe ten times and I'm still so astonished by everything else, I haven't looked into that kinda stuff. It's just amazing. Dirk really feels like Dirk, so I wouldn't doubt it.

Anyone out there looking to download the demo with XBOX Live Silver, plain and simple, create a new account/gamertag and connect it to XBOX Live. They will ask you which XBOX Live Gold membership you want and select: Ask me later. (Or however they phrase it) The next screen will give you a one month trial of XBOX Live Gold. That's what I did, worked like a beauty. (Sorry if this has been said a 100 times already, too busy playing the demo to scroll thru 27 awesome pages of comments

The fast shuffle defense by holding both triggers is a little scary. the defender moves a little too fast. Try it yourself and you can move faster shuffling than than running

Blocks in this game are more spectacular than ever. They get me more pumped up than dunks.

1) Just had a reverse layup dr. j style
2) I definetly see what they mean when the say "live ball physics" Not just a buzz term.
3) No players seemed to play out of their range of ability for me.
4) Caron dunked over bosh, bosh feel backwards, and butler walked over him staring down

5)Better court reflections on PS3 i think.

One problem though, when you guys do the "push ball out and run" animation does it automtically go into the half spin right afterwards or am i doing something wrong?
Also to those who have played both: Do you think there is a big difference between PS3 and 360 graphically wise? Or is it more even than years past?
