good to hear...just wanted to make sure...usually we hear from him by now, either on the forums or through an insight...haven't seen him write anything anywhere in ages, so i was getting a bit worried.
next week you will see Mike Wang and its gonna be good
I hope there is positive reinforcement for running plays correctly even if we don't get the ball at the end of it-similar to statements like "good box out", "good shot", etc.. This could help in getting better grades. I made a 3pt specialist (Scotty Thurman) and was asked to run off screens but rarely got the ball at the end or any acknowledgement. Good insight though.

Ha, Scotty Thurman. Awesome. Maybe I'll give Dugan Fife or Carmelo Travieso a run in my 2K12 My Player.
its cool in all but if im a 99 after the 1st season again then it wont even matter.
The skill points are much more expensive while your skill point (I assume) will be earned at the same rate of last year. If so, that should significantly cut down on the progession rate.

Correct
I think it will progress in game the same as last year. But it was said that, Attribute caps and ratings will be more expensive. So, it should take time to progress. With Teammate grade being harder to ace, it will not be easy to get A. As long as you got a A, you will get at least 1K XP for a bad game. With the ability to pay for XP and off-court rating, it adds depth. But you dont get much money till you are good.
I like that they made it harder to build up your stats with specific skills within a skill, like crossover, face up, spin, etc., but it won't matter unless there are stricter caps. Eventually, everybody is going to be the same all around player. They need to make it so that everybody is a unique player with a go to move or two, especially for online play. I know that being a role player isn't "sexy", but imagine if you really had a defined role on your team based on what path you chose in My Player? As it is now, you always become the equivalent of Oscar Robinson, just getting close to triple doubles in everything and doing it all for your team, offline. And that just translates to a boring team concept in crew as well and supports the "Who's gonna to stand at the top of the key and iso motion this play?" mentality.
That being said, I love all of the improvements. 2k really works hard on their games and it is really appreciated.
only certain abilities should be capped according to position and height
I applaud you and the team for the MY Player mode. It's the only mode I even play anymore, not b/c the Franchise or on-line aren't well done, but b/c this mode is just getting to be down right ****. My hats off for what you and the team have done and for what you look like you're about to do!

I am in the same boat. It is not like the other modes arent to my liking, but it is one of the best(if not best) BAP/MP mode in a sports game. And with the changes now it looks like I will play it more, especially if teammates play better. My Player has a great blend of having not only in-game features, but out of-game features. I dont think there is another game that does it. With Endorsements, Donations, Hanging with Teammates, HOF, Billboards, Interviews, it is more than just about playing games. Most of the other BAP/MP, just focus about games only.
NBA My Player looks to hold to the crown and has to be compared to MP
Sweet news for my favorite mode! I stopped playing MP in 2k11 because I was almost 90 OVR after one season (6'3'' 190 lb PG), I got tired of having to get 40, 10 and 10 every game just to have a CHANCE of winning, and I got tired of the ridiculous amount of bumping and suction into defenders who try to deny you movement and the ball. I hope they really mean it when they say teammate AI is better. Now that we get to call plays, I hope we can call plays in positions other than PG cuz i'm thinking about either a SG or SF for 2k12.

Why even have different types then? All around, athletic, 3 point specialist, defensive, etc., mean nothing, because the caps are laughable. As it is now, everybody just picks athletic for pretty much every position, because they can build up a money 3, become a great defender, pass the rock like Steve Nash, iso motion like Allen Iverson. Nobody in unique. You can't decide, "All right, I'm going to become Reggie Miller and everybody in crew is going to want me as their shooting guard because of it," because everybody and their Mom is going to be able to drain threes like it's nothing while being able to do everything else at an elite level, too. At its core My Player is an RPG..where everybody becomes the same class in the end.
