For the most part im very happy about this. Couple thoughts...
1. I really really really hope AI is improved in this mode-hopefully are teammates are competent and the other team is more realistic (ie no more doing a post fadeaway 15 possessions in a row with players like ben wallace)
2. I am very glad they raised the starting skill level to 60 or so... starting at 40 sucked, at least now ur guy can have some sort of basketball ability
3. I hope online pick up games are still there, that is what motivates me to improve my player
4. I sincerely hope that modded players are done for. That garbage ruined 2k10 and 2k11 for me.
5. I agree with whoever said they want defensive ability improvements-I like making big guys, and I want to swat stuff like D12, Russel, etc.
Just a few things that came to my mind after reading this
2K is doing it big with all the MP news i glad we get all the new features but i still hope the ai on my team wont just come down in jack up 20 3's a game
Ya very good insight! I think the most importing thing that will make my player great this year is the improved A.I. I always hated my centers standing at the 3pt line for no reason! Let's just hope that good shooters will actually make most of their open jumpers this year cuz on 2K11 you could have a teammate who was a great 3pt shooter and they would miss the majority of their shots. It was the worst in crew games as your A.I. teammates would practically miss every 3pt shot.

Agreed! How smart the A.I. is will either make or break My Player's gameplay. Oh ya and hopefully people won't be able to hack and get a 99 OVR my player this year. There would be no point of playing Crew if everyone has a modded 7'5 99 OVR player.
I like that they made it harder to build up your stats with specific skills within a skill, like crossover, face up, spin, etc., but it won't matter unless there are stricter caps. Eventually, everybody is going to be the same all around player. They need to make it so that everybody is a unique player with a go to move or two, especially for online play. I know that being a role player isn't "sexy", but imagine if you really had a defined role on your team based on what path you chose in My Player? As it is now, you always become the equivalent of Oscar Robinson, just getting close to triple doubles in everything and doing it all for your team, offline. And that just translates to a boring team concept in crew as well and supports the "Who's gonna to stand at the top of the key and iso motion this play?" mentality.
That being said, I love all of the improvements. 2k really works hard on their games and it is really appreciated.
they have done great job but one thing i really want to know.can we wear alternate jerseys in my player mode and pick colors of sleeves? if they made that improvement dreams will come true (these are really simple wishes come on)
The only thing that will make this game better is if they had alot more names in the system because they never say your created player's name anymore...im tired of having a nickname but other then that I can't wait for this game to come out
damn 2k WTF how could u not get david stern right...he doesnt have his sig nike DS commissioner IV eyeglasses or his nba logo pendant on his left lapel smh and LMAO....every year i have less sex the 1st and 2nd week of october. i love u 2k
Because I'm an achievement whore I will try ridiculously hard to be a lottery pick, then I will begin my real one after I get the achievement. I want to go to the Nets so I need to play like a bum to be the 27th pick in the draft.
Nets was also one of the 3 teams I wanted to go to as a PG, but with D.Will they are set.
The 2 teams(SAC and Spurs) I want to go to(Magic too, if Dwight stays) are way apart in draft. For SAC(7th pick), I have to ace interviews and have a great game. For Spurs(29th pick), I can have a decent game, but have to be an a**hole in interviews. I might go for Magic. Good pick at 23rd. I dont have to have a bad game, just mess up a couple questions. I want to go to mainly to team with athletic wings and a big. I dont really want to go 3Pt shooting team because 3pt boosts are hard to gain as a Athletic PG and teammates in 2K11 missed tons of open shots. But if teammates make the shot they would make IRL or on the opposing team, than I definitely want to work with Dwight Howard or Cousins.
What? I don't think I saw 92 Nets when he was in his prime and put 40 on Jordan. If that is true that would make my whole year a lot better. Can someone please confirm this? *__*
Jordan vs Petrovic at Olympic games in Spain, Barcelona..
Just one of the classic matchups and one of many MJ vs Drazen..
“
It was a thrill to play against Drazen. Every time we competed, he competed with an aggressive attitude. He wasn't nervous; he came at me as hard as I came at him. So, we've had some great battles in the past and unfortunately, they were short battles.
Question, how does that work you take any player from the game and us him in my player? Because last year you could do that with Jordan but 2k lowered his stats appropriately so they would fit his rookie years realistically.
So how does it work now, does it lower the stats automatically across the board until the player is like 55, or it doesn't lower the stats at all?

I don't think it lowers any stats. It appears (so far) that you pick up a player from last season and play on.
I hated my player mode last year it was so bland and boring. And when I heard that there will be a myplayer insight this week I was all: "Yadda yadda yadda, there goes one week of crap!"
BUT! After reading this I must say that the mode looks fun and engaging and that I will definitively take my alter ego on the court this year!
2K all you need to do now is to create a community to support and comfort the family members of NBA 2k12 users that went M.I.A.
Also since they wanted to eliminate the "boring" I wonder if the NBDL still apart of MP and with that said do you still have to earn your playing time?
I think nothing has changed with earning your play time. I know nothing about NBDL.
I would hope so. I find it weird that no reviewer has mentioned Training Camp as a new Mode or Feature. I would welcome a Control Insight with open arms.
Insight was great.
But, gameplay will decide how long I play in MP. Especially Teammate AI and CPU Low Post.
Yeah, teammate AI was definetly broke last year, I really hope the mechanics have been fixed this year. From the insight, it seems like they have been.
