After a supposed transfer fail fix happened today, we are still getting constant fails in our OD. We have been at a standstill for the past 2 weeks because we cannot get past Bowl Season in Year 1. It's getting beyond pathetic at this point.

I may not be a part of the cool crowd and lingo lol but I believe when one uses the term "blanket" referring to a "patch" it implies that the issues are so great that just a patch isnt big enough but requires a "blanket".

If there is really a difference in the two terms with regards to patching a game im not sure of an exact difference.

You nailed it.

And I made the photo above a little more apt for this board and the situation we are all dealing with.

Yeah this is really bad. I'm not on twitter, but I wonder if anyone has let them know that their "fix" didn't work at all

The big question is....

Will folks remember this come time for the big NCAA 13 Marketing Splash?

You know, when the community seems to hear/see them alot on the Forums/Twitter/Facebook etc... trying to get people all excited to buy their game.

Will folks be dropping their wishlist as though this never occured and/or ignoring a pattern that's seem to be growing with this developer.

Oh, how quick everything seems to have shifted over to Hockey, Soccer and whatever else during this football season.

Following along the lines of March Madness now.
There's a real season going on, but no video game to play

I think one of the real problems with dynasty in this game have to do with how old some of the code for it is. I know pretty much all generational software is built up on original and sometimes very old code, but I'm pretty sure in this case it dates back to the PS1 days—when the development budget for every aspect of the game was considerably less, and the tools available were far less powerful.

Why do I say PS1 days? Back in NCAA '09 there was a glitch with edited rosters that caused the teams last added to the game's database to disappear. The teams last added to the database that were disappearing were all based on when the joined Div. 1-A chronologically (and what edition of the game they would have joined the database). When EA added WKU, they seemed to exceed some sort of initial team cap for the database and it screwed everything up.

Anyway, it's difficult to explain, so here is a link to an exchange I had with Adam Thompson from the NCAA dev team about it. It should be more clear after reading.

Wyoming was the last team in the database, then in 2001 USF and Troy joined Div 1-A so they would have been added for 2002 on the PS2, then next came FIU and FAU, and then finally WKU, and these are all the teams that disappear if you edit. And then you have Wisconsin's ratings screw up and I believe they are next in the database before Wyoming. Does the team database in this game really stretch back to the PS1 days?

OMT

Right. I don't know about PS1, but back when we started add 1AA teams.

If this is indeed true, then I'm not surprised that a mode as complex as online dynasty—built on a database from PS1 era games—is giving them so much trouble.

I have Madden from Gamefly so I am also waiting for that update. I prefer NCAA overall, I would like to restart my offline dynasty once the patch comes in. Last year it seemed like they cared more they had tuners and patches out in 2-4 weeks of release date. It would be nice if they said what was holding them up. They don't even blog and the real season has started.

If it was big enough to take that long to download on anything faster than two cups + a string, MS wouldn't approve it.

it's a good thing I'm waiting for Sony then

So the consensus is despite EA announcing via twitter that the transfer failed and bowl score changing glitches were fixed..... they were not.

Outstanding.

I have football practice in the morning, i live in California, it's going to be 102 degrees tomorrow. Do you all realize how angry i would be, going to practice at 6:00 A.M in the morning, coming back home at 12 P.M sweaty and hot just to find out that there was no patch released?
