And at the other poster:
Also EA said they were aiming at a release at the end of August, obviously those words ended up biting Haumiller in his ***.

It's a new generation, hell there was a time when Demos was a way to get a game out, now your lucky to see a demo for games anymore. Sports games and occasionally other games. Hell they are releasing demos now, months after a game is released (Reach and Fable). it sucks but it is true, with all the enhancements, it's not worth them putting a lot of money into quality assurance as it is to push in that extra feature. Patches gave them that ability. It's a double sided sword in that sense.

Er...no, I don't. I remember a lot of sucking it up and dealing with problems that had no way of getting fixed. I also remember becoming a primarily PC sports gamer during the PS1/early PS2 era due solely to the fact that patches could actually be released for those games. With the later PS2 games I started getting back into console because companies (mostly EA) were losing focus on PC sports games.

I'm doing a 3rd run on Mass Effect 2 on PS3. Sports games annoy me quickly because they come out every year with bugs that can't be addressed either properly or promptly or both, or they ship with bugs that the devs have no intention of fixing. I'm not tripping out too much though. I'm patiently waiting to see what the patch does.

On another note we need to realize what we are dealing with. These annual sports games will be like this every year and nothing will ever change. The devs just can't implement new and innovative ideas while at the same time improving on existing features without the game being messed up in some way. They just don't have enough time to do this without the game shipping with lots of flaws. We see it every year with NCAA whether it's broken fatigue, gray sleeves, broken progression, or whatever, but this year it just happened to be a nasty game freeze bug. That's why the heat is turned up so high.

It's made by Bioware and published by EA, huge difference.

Dead Space and Dead Space 2 were likewise pretty awesome.

Don't want to be a pain or anything, but can anyone tell me or point out a link where it shows everything the patch is going to do/fix? I've tried searching, but I suck at stuff like that and couldn't find anything other than fixing online dynasty..

The lack of a patch is horrible, but what is even worse is that EA tweeted that they fixed the transfer fail issue today....and its not fixed!

I'm hoping somebody can help me here. We had some nasty storms last weekend & my personal internet was knocked out. The only internet access I have is the free stuff in my apartment complex. It isn't good enough to connect my xbox to live when I wire it in. I noticed there are sites that you can download the title updates from. The new NCAA update isn't uploaded yet. I have no idea what you need to do to get the update online or even if it's legal, but if anyone knows how & is willing to help me by uploading it onto a site like xbuc.com I'd really appreciate it. Otherwise I have to wait until next week. Thanks.

We're all waiting until next week... because they haven't released the patch yet.

What? I was under the impression it was out in the last day or two. Don't I feel stupid.

No reason to feel stupid. We're all in the same boat... just sad that we're all on the Titanic.

the sickening thing is DR is the only excuse thrown out when it comes to piling on about the player tendencies.

I've had Andrew Luck try and run over and over against me and I've had Darron Thomas sit back and try and bomb it against me in my Wazzu dynasty. I've had Denard Robinson carry the ball 3 times against me in my Purdue OD, and Minnesota's QB sit in the pocket and do nothing when there are gigantic holes.

That's four examples from my experiences, so please don't say something is "utterly false" just because it hasn't happened to you.

I'd also like to point out I had Danny O'Brien try running on me over 10 times in one half.

For once, I'm happy with Madden out of the box. There are a few workouts for some bugs in franchise mode, but I'm still having lots of fun.

EA owns BioWare, just like they own Tiburon.

no, I don't actually. there were many buggy games on consoles that I wished had the ability to get patches(NCAA '05 on Xbox for example).

As a long time PC gamer, I'm so used to patches it doesn't bother me at all. It's just a part of the life cycle of video games.

I agree but I just cant get over how long its taking for this first patch to come out. I know its beating a dead horse but its been 2 months, and this patch is really only a blanket.
