The Madden NFL 12 demo is available now. Please play a few games and post your impressions here. For now, just search under "M" in the demos section or games section. It weights in at 1.53 GB.
So playing the Demo I noticed something since I was playing with game flow on Defense I am confused because there are agressive calls and conservative, but the plays that fall into those two seem random. I went to a conservative call to try to hold onto the lead and I come out and its blitzing 7 guys. I have noticed its almost random, so I don't know if this is a glitch or if it will be fixed for the final build just makes gameflow useless on D.
No not duh, rookie or pro is way too easy and all madden is all-cheating...rethink your analysis..
That's what people like to say, but it's the only setting where the game is a challenge and produces somewhat realistic stats. In person I've never seen anyone play below All Madden.
Having played the demo I can't help but be excited for this years game. The revamped presentation is really welcome to delivering a broadcast feel to the game. Couple that with some stunning visuals, improved gameplay & some much needed work on the Franchise Mode & Madden 12 becomes a must buy game this year.
don't understand the hate for seeing the QBs tuck and run. In previous games the CPU NEVER scrambled and now people complain its too much???? Use the QB spy if you're getting burned
I agree i have no problem with the CPU scrambling on me.....Finally!
As for the Human QB like i said if you really wanted to fix it or make it tougher for you to run there are options you can tweak in the game
you can agree or disagree but the fact remains there are options in the game that allows you to modify CPU and Human QB scrambling ability either by ratings, sliders or tendencies.
Anyone complaining about it simply just refuse to take the time to balance out the issue and therefor complaining about it is easier for them
Well after finally getting the game here are my feelings.
Agree running with Qb is too easy. But then again, the game will play very nice when sliders adjusted, need full game to figure those out.
Presentation is very nice and liking already the DPP.
Fumbles on all madden are ridiculous, so thats first slider treatment.
I've lost every game so far, but i aint that great on madden plus its just getting used to the game. Managed to get down to 14-7 loss after losing over 35 points first few games.
If its true this is earlier build then with the improvements to franchise mode and a few tweaks on the old silders i think we are on to a winner.
First let's see if the issue with the QB's running is indeed an issue with the final build.
Honestly, how do the suggestions you made not hinder the rest of the game? If the issue is solely with running QB's, you essentially screw up everything else by tweaking sliders globally.
I want QB's that actually scramble to have the ability to beat me with timely scrambles. What I don't want is to take control of the linebacker that is 5 yards away and actually lose all control of him as he pulls me away from the scrambling QB. It's weird but, it happens.
Also, QB's break more tackles than RB's. For whatever reason their trucking and break tackle ratings seem to be on a different scale than anyone else that carries the ball. I mean Cutler is breaking clean tackle attempts by Clay Matthews. Essentially they need to take demo Aaron Rodgers and make his running ability Mike Vick's and then scale down from there.
On my end I want to be able to scramble when it's appropriate but, the defense has to react better to scrambles. If I screw with reaction time too much it affects my overall running game.
and again my point is there are OPTIONS in the game you can adjust
if you choose to not utilize those options for fear of breaking something else that is your decision
but there are options either by ratings, sliders or DPP you can adjust for human or CPU players to get a better balance of gameplay in this apsect (Human/CPU Running QB's)
i just think it's irrelevant complaining about scrambling QB's in the DEMO especially if you haven't even bothered to find a solution one way or the other.
Glad I'm not the only one that thinks that about ncaa and madden.

It's a matter of preference really. This year Madden is the more difficult and challenging game to play. I prefer the game be difficult more than anything else.

I don't play on All Madden. I don't enjoy uber-cheating CPUs.
how do you guys feel about how the defensive backs cover the deep ball. I have seen a bunch of times a defensive back just standing there and letting the wr make a catch and not playing the ball at all

From the demo, Madden actually feels like a fresh new game and not stale at all such as NCAA still has that stale feeling for years. As everyone has said the presentation has a realistic broadcast feel to it, graphics are superb, player models are realistic looking, and the grass is very realistic as well.
Also, I feel like the animations are MUCH smoother and the players do not move as much like robots like in NCAA. Tackling is a HUGE upgrade, although, as someone has said it feels like every tackle is a huge hit instead of normal wrap up tackle.
Passing is done way better than in NCAA, I actually feel like there is route based passing implemented. For example, I was faced with a heavy rush and I threw an out route to D. Driver before he made the cut. The ball went to where he was suppose to go out towards the sideline instead of where he was at that moment (still running vertical). He made a diving catch towards the sideline and it looked AWESOME. It was a great feeling. However with that said, DBs still have eyes in the back of their head. The trajectory of the ball isn't realistic but still WAY better than NCAA.
Running isn't much different than in NCAA, but that isn't a bad thing I don't think.
All in all, this is a definite day one buy for me. The demo felt more polished than the released version of NCAA. I can't wait!

How do you know whether or not someone has looked for a solution?
Not a complaint just an observation. I never complained. Many others have brought up the issue. I've noticed it as well.
There are many other issues that people have posted that are easily fixed with the available sliders. Obviously in the demo you can't change individual player ratings or attributes.
I know in the NCAA patch they are addressing the way defenders react once the QBs break the line of scrimmage.
I love the fact that QBs scramble and that it is possible to scramble. The Qbs should not be so fast though. And the defense should react better to them.
Okay...maybe I'm slow but I had no idea that changing the difficulty changes the player and computer skill. I've been playing on all madden getting pounded because my players had no clue how to shed blocks, tackle, cover, slow to react you name it. So I went in the settings to see wtf was up and I see that all of my skill levels are set to 25 while CPU. O_o
Duhhhh
Switched the sliders a little bit and put the game speed on slow and now I'm having fun. Aaron rodgers is tolerable and the game is 100x more fun than it already was.
I only played one game on default All Pro as GB. I lost 13-6
The graphics and uniform degradation are simply gorgeous. Best I've seen in a sports game, period.
The passing seems smoother than NCAA. It isn't quite as difficult to get the ball to your outsider receivers either. The entire game seems a bit more polished than NCAA. The only thing that NCAA has on Madden this year in a full online dynasty. I still love NCAA though and the Madden demo was like mouthwash the washed away the bad taste I had in my mouth that was left from the no online franchise improvements.
This is easily a Day One purchase. Thank You EA for the Season Pass!
I don't play on All Madden. I don't enjoy uber-cheating CPUs.
lol, how does the CPU cheat? I mean it's not suppose to be easy. I don't understand how anyone can play on a setting that allows for 200 yards rushing, high scores, etc.

I agree. I used to think All-Madden cheated until I actually tried it on my own. It's not as sooped up as people portray it to be. Especially if you consider that the AI sliders don't have to move for it to be All Madden -- you're simply lowering your sliders which enhanced my experience for M11.
