Yeah I forgot to mention it looked like field goals might actually be blockable from time to time. This is a great improvement!

OHHH and I noticed, unlike NCAA, there are NO super-linebackers.

This needs to be fixed asap.
See this is what I worry about with people posting impressions about the game being too easy or broken. I have a sense that a lot of you are just those "exploiting" players. Of course you will get 10 sacks a game if you are cheating the game. I got sacks but most if not all were with blitzes.

So I take all these unrealistic situations with a grain of salt. I play sim ball and I have had great hard fought games with the CPU on All-Pro every time. Everything was realistic and I have been a Madden ***** this entire generation.

When the CPU QB ran the ball it was because everyone was in coverage. And the speed was fine to me. I tried to run with Cutler and he was slow as hell. So again I'm enjoying the game which is a shocker for me.

The biggest negative so far for me is the CPU quick snapping.. That has to be patched or changed prior to launch. That is the most annoying thing in the world. I can understand punks online doing it because they suck at football but there is no reason for the CPU to quick snap. It would also give the game a more realistic feel to watch the CPU QB take his time to look over the defense before snapping the ball.

Does anyone know who the new team is behind this years game?

Funny thing was I played 2 games, one as GB and one as CHI.

With CHI I lost 17-10, and with GB I won 17-10.

Yay for consistency?

I might not be used to madden after not buying 11, but man it seemed like everytime I dropped back with Cutler there was pressure from Matthews and one of their lineman. In a game I played last night Matthews had 6 sacks.

Visually this game looks great, I like some of what I am seeing, I already had planned to pick the game up. Listening to the OS radio show, I hope that the guys were right and this is a demo build that was farther behind than the E3 build, because I liked the things that they said were in the E3 build. I'm looking forward to this game once again. Haven't really felt that way since Madden NFL 10 which I thoroughly enjoyed.

It's too easy to run with the QB and when I was playing the bears blocked a field goal and started running it back. I tried to catch them but when i pushed the left stick towards the runner my player ran the opposite way...really confusing.

I don't know -- I kind've feel like they are present. They may not jump exceedingly high, but I have had some passes batted down that I felt shouldn't have been.

In general, I think the whole super LB/passing arch thing is worth a discussion in the near future. We're so quick to point and blame the passing arch -- I wonder if it's as awful as we've made it out to be.

I haven't chimed in and want to give my two cents.

First off, the obvious. The graphics are unbelievable. I was in awe of them, especially combined with the presentation. That really struck me because my problem with past Madden's is they never made me immersed in the game. The presentation never felt true to an NFL broadcast, and it did the game a disservice as we'd never see close-ups of these amazing helmets, faces, jerseys, etc.

I was also impressed with the crowd noise. They got happy at the right moments, angry at the right moments, and loud at the right moments. I think it could be a bit better, but I was certainly impressed.

I didn't see any short replay problems. I'm on the PS3.

Something I didn't like was the stats. Too few and far between. No stats at halftime. Only a stat or two after touchdowns. I feel so not connected with how my players are doing from a statistical standpoint.

The passing needs a revamp. Someone else said it like 50 pages back and it's true. There's not much flexibility when it comes to the passing. I'll see a linebacker in the middle of the field. See a WR five yards behind him, and when I throw it, my intention is to throw it with velocity OVER the LB. You just can't do that in Madden, because the LB with super jump. Plus, I want the ability to be able to place balls in certain areas (back shoulder, low, etc) to avoid a DB, but it feels like when I throw it, the ball doesn't go where I want it to go. It's like there's no grey area with passing--it's either a fast ball or lob, a complete pass or an inaccurate, incomplete pass.

I need more time with the demo, but those were my immediate thoughts.

the juke is really hard to get down, this year its all about timing, you just need to time it right. there have been times where i failed, and a few time where i made the defender slip.

Madden 12 sucks!! Why, do people continue to buy that crappy franchise? I haven't bought the game in 4 years and will be going on 5 years. It looks the same, it plays the same as it did 4 years ago. Why? Madden is banned from my home!! EA needs to get their you know what together.

Played my first game of the demo, All Pro, I used the Packers.

PROS:
-Graphics and presentation are both finally up to par.
-Gameplay seems to be a step in the right direction. There are still the same typical 'Madden' issues, like certain plays almost always being more effective than others (Slants).

CONS:
-Scrambling w/ Rodgers for me was too easy, and I echo those who are worried about Vick cheesers, particularly online. Just seems like QB speed in general should be toned down, b/c I could run at will w/ Rodgers, which is not a good thing. Once or twice is fine, but the CPU should adjust and be able to stop it eventually.

-CPU AI still seems to be bonehead at times. Bears (CPU) down 4 /10 sec left, 1 TO left, 2 & long at their own 40 or so, and they run a draw play and have to use their last TO. And then 3rd and long w/ no TOs and 7 sec left they run a draw again. Don't know what that was all about.

I'm still torn on this game. There are definite improvements but there's still a feeling of 'meh' for me. I did like it better than the NCAA demo, which I didn't like at all. Will wait and see what others think before deciding whether or not to buy.

EA could make a virtually perfect and amazingly fun game and there are guys who absolutely REFUSE to give them credit. Oh well....new Madden, same old complainers.

The OL/DL needs a huge overhaul. The lack of good player interaction is a base/core issue (most of the interaction is 1on1) and it seems the way the game indicates a player is better than another is to simply have him block for a certain amount of time then let the defensive player go. Or whiff entirely. I don't see the benefit to having great OL/DL if the interaction is done on such an elementary level

Anyone try messing with CPU Reaction Sliders?
It made a big difference in gameplay. I tried a game on All-Pro and setting CPU reactions to 0. Was able to exploit the defense easiliy. But didnt see any Super LBs or Physic DB.
I am thinking 25-40 would be a good setting where it is tough but less Super LBs or Physic DBs

Havent played Madden since Madden 10 (didnt even play 11's demo) so i dont know how good/bad madden 11 was but this game is much better than 10.

Tackling is so hard now cause im use to cheat to get tackles since i would be able to morph towards them and get the tackle but now dive tackles have much more risked to them (as it should).

Zone defense is amazing.I swore players didnt play zone in 10 but on here you can actually read the defense now since they actually play their zones now.

Not a fan of the auto turbo/strafe so i turned that off. Also turned speed to slow cause normal was too fast.

Won my first game 21-3 using the packers.I was able to do everything they are able to do in real life (establish a run game, rodgers making good passes, etc.)

more impressions later.

Actually, I'm finding Cullen Jenkins(Packers RE) getting plenty of sacks. This is the first time in Madden I've noticed that.

One play I was controlling Mathews and I blew by Cutler and Pickett was there to finish him off.

I got a penalty for throwing the ball afyer crossing the LOS.

I agree, but even last year Taz, Pickett had all the sacks, while Jenkins laid an egg in my franchise. Just saying it's good to see that change from last year.(3-4)

Well, 4 years ago would be Madden 2008. The tackling system alone debunks this point of view.

I'm really happy with what Madden 12 is, even with this buggy, early build.

Pros - nice graphical improvements as far as colors and scratches on helmets, the offensive line can now run block

Cons - halftime show is terrible, DB's still drop easy INTs, SUPER JUMPING LBs!!!, Can't really feel the Dynamic Player Performance, I did see Cutlers change in the pause menu because I was getting alot of pressure but couldnt notice the difference between scrambling often and him being trigger happy making it a failed and pointless addition, IMHO.

Obviously, this is a demo and not the most recent build. I hope they have cleaned up most of these issues by release.
