I played 2 games earlier and finally won a close gm
16-0 Ala(Me) vs. FSU. I had a long TD run and a Saftey. I was able to establish a running game. I was calling 3 straight run plays in the same formation and called a PA in two drives. I had success on the PA plays because I was able to get the D to fall for it. I went for a TD late when I coulda just Down it
7-3 Texas(Me)
I got shut down the whole time. I moved the ball well and then didnt go for it on a 4th down. Every time Oregon got the ball they was able to move the ball well. Then late fourth Quarter I was able to pull off a 80 TD on a Cross Pattern. I won with few secs left. I was able to get pressure and sacks off Blitzes
I noticed when trying to throw in between the corner and safety in a cover2, the outside linebacker would always jump up and swat the ball away. How it's possible to swat a ball intended for the sidelines from the hashmarks is beyond me. When I have a ten-yard window between the corner and safety and can't get the ball to him because a linebacker (who by the way, is in no position to make a play other than to turn his hips and pursue the ball's path), has an uncharacteristic attribute that renders your correct "read" worthless, it's defeating. This isn't "difficulty", it's garbage. I like a challenge, don't get me wrong. I do understand that there is no way to "perfectly" duplicate football. Recievers are open on plays, but if a linebacker is 5 yards in front of them, you'll never get the ball to them...unless of course you try to lob it into the waiting hands of a safety or corner.
I agree I love playing on Heisman for a challenge.. I'm not too worry about the passing because I think most of it will be fixed. But if the running through the holes stays the same it's game over if i'm using Nevada. Hopefully it's just because it's the demo and maybe it was an older version with no online tuning updates
Tackling is too hard..i like that there is no suction feature but there is so many big runs due to players not making tackles because they arent in the absolute perfect position to do so
played a game on AA. Alabama vs FSU. Seems alot like last year, though I liked the gameplay last year and this year feels a bit better. Nothing struck me as odd and the difficulty feels just right. Stats were pretty realistic as well, as far as I could tell.
We probably wont notice a big difference from last year until the retail version comes out with the new features, etc..

I really like that it's more challenging and that if you take the wrong angle you get burned. It will take some getting used to but once you get really good at it tackling will be so much more rewarding b/c it's you controlling it not the computer. Just my 2 cents
Yeah it's just that sometimes I AM in perfect position to tackle and I'll just kind of rub up against the ball carrier, and nothing will happen. And then if I try and use the tackle button my player just dives away from the ball carrier..it can be frustrating
Like others have stated, I really like the new tackling. I was going to get it regardless but this makes it even easier. Can't wait to do the coaching carousel most of all. Day one purchase for me.

Yea, I honestly never knew how fun and refreshing it'd be to play a game of NCAA Football with a new tackling system. Feels like a real, unique game each time.
Overall though I'm really starting to fall in love with this years version. It's just so well balanced that I can't help but feel like I won/loss a game w/out being cheated. I'm still a little worried about Spread offenses not being able to move the ball on AA & Heisman. But I'll hold off judgment until the retail.
Not sure if this is a Glitch but on a big pass by the cpu while the TE caught the ball, when I tried to stop him and got close a Hint popped up in the middle of the play causing me to get distracted and get burned
Has anyone else noticed when running into blocker the ball carrier actually shortens his strides and tries to push behind him. I know last year they sort of reached out, but now it seems like the player actually are staying behind the blocker and trying to push him forward.
Also, I just had an amazing 7-6 loss as Oregon on Heisman. Both QBs threw 2 picks, which were my first two with Oregon through all the games I have played. I couldn't get the passing game to work for me, so I stuck with the ground game and probably had LMJ and Darron Thomas combine for 100 yards on the ground with the read option and draw plays, but I ended up having to drive late in the game so I had to pass it since I had no time outs.
I ended up getting in a 4th and 3 at the 15 yard line and with no timeouts and 13 seconds on the clock. I hurried to the line, hiked the ball, and ended up getting a completion and a first down with 4 seconds left. The clock stopped and I hurried to the line, picked a play while everyone scrambled to the line, I hiked it as soon as I could and threw the TD pass with 0 seconds remaining. Then UT called a TO and I put some thought into a fake and finally went with it. UT played it correctly, but I scrambled out to the right hoping to buy some time. One defender broke from is zone towards me and I went to lob the pass over his head to he guy behind him and the defender did a reach animation I have never seen before and barely tipped the pass and won the game for Texas. It wasn't a superhuman jump or anything, he just reached as high as he could when he saw my arm moving forward and got enough of the ball to force the in completion.
I hope the full game can deliver games like that on Heisman.

I've had a couple of really close games like this in the demo where my clock management skills have really come into play. I've probably had 4-5 games where I hit a game winning field goal as time expired. Also had a game that went into triple overtime that I ended up losing. I can't remember ever having this much fun playing a demo.
I had a game go into triple overtime too. The CPU went first and got the TD but i sacked the QB when they went for the compulsory 2pt conversion. Then i scored a TD and dived over the defensive line to get my game winning 2pt conversion!!
Also i blocked an extra point, got a cool replay and commentary with it too!
Overall i am amazed by how good a game this is and this is just the demo. I love the new tackling system, seen some monster hits. Also like the fact that you can get some decent returns now, too easy on varsity but just right on all american.
Anyone else notice the lack of crowd noise? I've played as both home teams and it just seems dead in the stadium. I try to pump up crowd and get no response. Maybe just an issue with the demo hopefully.

Hmmm, maybe this is one reason the game feels so boring to me. Could barely finish a drive because I felt so bored.
Really enjoyed the demo. The tackling system is refreshing to see. Glad to see suction blocking pretty much gone. Overall the gameplay feels more smoother than last year's game. I am disappointed in the lack of crowd noise in the demo though. Even playing as Texas and trying to pump up the crowd it doesn't seem to help. Hoping this will be different in the retail version.
All in all I'm happy with the improvements EA made with NCAA this year. I was very satisfied with what they did with NCAA 11 & this year they improved enough for me to justify purchasing this game. Can't wait til the 12th.

Have you seen the new features showcased on the demo? The crowd sounds really loud in that.
Someone else mentioned that the crowd levels are compressed, which would make sense for a demo.
I've played the demo as well and even without surround sound, I know my television speakers do a better job of emitting crowd noise. It sounds muffled and I'm going to attribute that to compression for the time being. As more videos are released, I'm sure we can always have a listen to confirm.
I likely won't be purchasing the game because I simply do not have the time to play a sports game at the moment, but I found this demo really fun. I haven't gotten into whatever issues anyone is having with awareness, blocking, etc. so I can't comment on that. Those things won't concern me at this level of immersion.
