So if you agree tell where they have made real improvements? Outside of reducing suction tackling and minor graphical improvements nothing has changed. I still have my ncaa 09 copy, never played 10 and only played someone else 11. The could have fixed these issues in 10. The game is still suffering from things that hurt those installments. OLINE pancaking dline in unison, player running motions are stiff as wood, easy sacks, they take out things like edit player in dynasty for who knows what. This game could have easily been ncaa 10. The Ps2 was the best era. Ncaa 04 did not feel like ncaa 07 so 12 shouldn't feel like 09 either.
Demo is about average. Decent amount of bugs, but the one that happened the most was easily when I was playing FSU and Manuel would step up past the line of scrimmage on a pass and not run. He wasn't able to pass because he was past the line of scrimmage, so he just sat there holding the ball like he was about to pass and didn't move until I tackled him.

And it doesn't. NCAA 12 feels nothing like 09 at all. I really don't know how you can say it even resembles the same feel. Play the 09 demo and then play 12's demo. Presentation is different, graphics are a lot better, and most importantly, the gameplay is a lot better. Compared to 09 the players in 12 actually look and feel like they have momentum when running. As much as we want, that's debateable, but they definitely have a noticeable amount compared to 09 or even 10.

Are you really arguing with somebody who says 12 and 09 are the same? 10 and 11 are worlds apart when it comes to control and locomotion.

QB Scrambling
Catch Button
New Formations (1-5-5, for example)
Better Zone Coverage
No Suctioning
Improved Blocking
Better Running
Stronger Defense
And So On.
That's before we talk about Graphics and Presentation...
Also, Over the Past 4 Years, the NCAA Rules have changed very little. There is about no way EA can make a completely redone football game because a Football Game in 2009 has the same rules as 2012.

Bottom line Gents and the underlined story is the demo basically plays the same as the previous year and also still has some of the same issues as past years games. Yea, Yea, they corrected the suction stuff, and a few other tweaks, but it is the same. What do you expect. History repeats itself.
Like the gents original review, I am going to buy the game. Love football and it is the only game in town (EA is smiling and their hand is itching). As normal and for years we will have to deal with what they give us. Until a competitor is able to come in, we won't have the knock out blow like NBA 2K did to Live (or whatever the name was changed to in order to attempt to increase sales).
I enjoy it overall, though there are some things that have annoyed me.
A few times I've had the QB scramble and my guys in zone or spying will just stand there even though the QB is past the LOS. They just watch him, at least once they waited for the QB to be behind them before they pursued.
Does the demo not call intentional grounding?
The CPU, multiple times, has called for a fair catch on a punt return and then ran with it, gaining extra yards of course because I'm not expecting them to take off.
The CPU still uses all TO's if you're kicking a game winner. After I made the game winner one of their defensive guys tackled my kicker, nothing was done about it. In 11 if I even touched their kicker it was 15 yards.
Same annoying announcing. One of the guys belittled my QB for "throwing into coverage" saying he can't just blindly throw a ball. The guy was essentially wide open and shortly after catching it he got hit and dropped the ball.
I do like the new tackling system though, you can actually hit someone if they already got touched by another one of your players.
Also catching seems nicer.
The replay feature at the end of the game is nice, though I wish they had full replay available in game to see if they fixed the issue with the PS3 version.
I'm more interested in playing with the Dynasty Mode, now that coaching will be a major point. It got annoying in past games where the coaches would stay at the same place for 50 years and nothing changed, every five years I would randomly switch around coaches... didn't change things much but it was something. Can't wait to work my way up from a low level DC job to head coach at a major program.
Now, on my quest to play as every team I must use the Longhorns (ugh). Is their 3rd string still upper 90s in THP/THA? EDIT: Nevermind, we can't set starters? Not to mention all 3 kickoff returns my player back there decided to try and catch it with their head. Why is that team even on the game? Should have had TCU v Boise State or something. I've also noticed through all the games trying to pass more left/right by using the stick does absolutely nothing. Did they remove that, or is it another gimp of the demo?

Custom Playbooks and Coaching Carasual are not "just tweaks." Overall, including game play, presentation, franchise and RTG looks like enough improvements from 11 to qualify as much better than tweaks, and that is the bottom line. I disagree with your opinion, but to each their own.

I am into real football gameplay. I will let you consider the fluff/icing on the cake as real improvements.
Oh, pancaking my entire D line on the regular basis at the same time, DE not getting up the field, tackling a guy and he slides for five additional yards, warping WR to make a catch, first tackler falls off so the second can make the hit. Everyone else around falls down, I can go on.
- Already commented on poor AI QB logic, but now I see the QB hiking and then immediately throwing the ball sideways out of bounds and into the stands.
- Intentional grounding penalties are NEVER called. The only penalty I have seen is an encroachment penalty when I got the CPU DT to jump offside.
- Wide receivers not looking for the ball--the ball will be very accurate to their position but they won't look up and attempt to catch it. As such the ball just flies by them. Cost me a fake punt--WR was wide open too.
Plenty of graphical bugs:
1. The background over-blurring during a replay--literally nothing behind the player can be made out because of so much blur.
2. Players and/or referees disappearing during a replay.
3. Lack of referee collision detection which creates some weird anomalies.
4. Oregon's yellow helmets become a really dull Notre Dame gold, and even Texas's white helmets dull to an in-between white & gray. Not sure why this happens--either because it is at night or the colors are just wrong in-game. Prior to the game they looked fine (uniform selection).
5. Weird camera cuts where the wrong players will be seen or they will literally disappear after a play.
6. Strange glitch where sections of the stadium start "flashing" black. Hard to explain.
7. The 3D grass looks very strange at times, almost like a water-color painting and/or it twitches.
This is playing on the PS3, and I admit this is a demo so I don't know how many of these issues exist in the full version (hopefully none). Merely pointing out anything strange I spot in case it is useful to the developers.
I have played around 6 games on AA alternating between the teams, so far I think the game is really sick with the improvements but I am encountering a few problems.
-Seems a lot harder to run, a lot of my runs I can't make it to second level because the lineman blocks the end for literally a split second, gives up on the block and all of the sudden the end is in the backfield. I have maybe busted a big run (15-25 yd) once to twice a game tops.
-Superman d-line knocking down passes, same with CB's and OLB's who are out of position magically sliding into position within a split second to knock a pass down
-Also forgot that one play my WR made a catch on the sidelines going out of bounds, play is reviewed and he had an NFL in bounds catch but the call was overturned. Completely wrong.
-Anyone else notice the defender going for an interception button is like delayed...I can't really explain it. Oregon QB threw a last ditch ball into the corner of the end zone and my corner was standing in front of the WR for an easy pick, I switch to the corner and hit Y to intercept the pass and literally the ball goes over his head and the WR catches it and my CB does some gimp *** attempt at a catch 5 seconds after i pushed the button which cost me a game tying touchdown
Overall I am impressed, because I have played AA my whole life and even last year some games were close but most were semi- easy wins for me. Seems this year that AA is going to be a challenge. I don't care if you play heisman my dick is bigger than yours
Pros:
-Game feels much more fluid
-New Tackling system is great
-Presentation is much improved
-Defense is much better
-New Formations and new plays
-Game is more competitive
Cons:
-You don't have as much control with your player as you did on '11
-Shotgun running is only effective when you have a lineman pulling
-Read option is 50/50 even if you make the correct read
-Linebackers still making superman leaps
-Secondary is constantly getting beat deep
-Cannot user catch
-Defense is still psychic
-Jumping the Snap is NOT a good thing
-Don't feel much weight or momentum
-When trying to return a pick, a lineman usually runs my cb down
-Blockers are not blocking defenders when they are right in front of them
-Can only run speed option successfully half of the time
-When you hot route a defensive player they go to the specific zone and just stand there
Overall the demo is much better than NCAA '11, just some things that need tweaking.
I'm really digging the cut-blocking I'm seeing from the receivers and some linemen. Being a GT guy, I appreciate a good cut-block. Bama's and Oregon's WR's have been doing a good job, I really can't wait to see if it's implemented this well within the flex-bone offense. If it is....LOOK OUT FOR ME
ps I think a lot of people are being too harsh on the game/demo. We knew we weren't getting a new engine so you're not gonna see a complete overhaul of our game. Look at NCAA '02-'08 ('05 hurt a little): all good games because they added small things each year to the game we had to make it better. I think they've added some nice little things this year as well; that's all I can really ask for as a 29yr old gamer.
Lol at these dorks that think Coaching Carousel is a real improvement. Its nothing but a fancy way for u to select a new team and will only be utilized by people who aren't hardcore fans of a particular school; and most cfb fans are hardcore fans for one school. Presentation is useless if that dnt upgrade the real gameplay issues. Reducing suction and improving zone are plusses but if that's all u get? They didn't even touch the player animations. Honestly who the hell is watching pregame intros EVERY game. Those things should b the cherry on top not advertised as meat and potato improvements.
