Huh. On my 50 inch DLP with HDMI cable it looks gorgeous to me.

I know in NCAA11 it started out in that mode then you could click the right stick to set it to advanced, but that didn't work in the NCAA12 demo.
Just pause it and go to controls. Or press B in the play call screen.

Man, that thread about the grass over in the Madden forum really threw me off. Now all I look at is the damn grass!! It does need to be fixed though. Too many black spots all over the place it looks so weird.

I have to say this is the most impressive demo of ncaa I have played yet. Playing with Oregon is SO much fun on All-American (haven't played Heisman yet and not worried because I think sliders will make this game great). Zone defense is so much better now if you know what you are doing. I'm most excited about the fun I had with Oregon, with suction gone I can pick up those extra yards on the run. This gives me high hopes when the game comes out when I play with Clemson!

Only bad thing about this game, is after 2 games I was already skipping all the "ESPN" (sarcasm) highlights. I'm sorry devs but the unrealistic replays just to show off the grass are awful. They really need to learn from what Madden did this year with their presentation.

But so far I've had fun, but unfortunately I don't think I'll play it too much longer with only 2 match-ups to choose from, was still fun while it lasted!

Right, I'm shocked I didn't hear Herbestreit say "and look at that grass!" while the camera follows the feet of my QB scrambling. I saw that a few times and thought "... really guys?"

Yeh I will say the most impressive line Herbestreit said was when I played an OT game. After FSU (CPU) missed the field goal to open it up, he talked about how he thought starting at the 25 yard line was too close and that we should start from the 35 or 40. Never really thought of that but I think that would be so much better, you should have to earn your field goal. Just thought that was interesting, NCAA listen up! lol

If I heard him say that I would hope I wasnt drinking or eating anything cause I would be choking. That's hilarious.

I hate to say it but getting rid of suction tackles has brought back a problem from last gen that bothered me greatly, rubbing. So many timers in this demo I will go to tackle the ball carrier and rub up agasint them for 5 yards before the tackle begins, and sometimes it doesn't tackle at all. I knwo I am touching them because my controller vibrates the whole time, hopefully this gets fixed.

Heisman is light years ahead of previous versions in terms of fairness/challenge.

I haven't felt "cheated" on much of anything. The CPU RB AI is tremendous. It's almost human like.

Screens have worked. Read option works. HB counter from shotgun works. The CPU overthrows receivers. The Secondary doesn't jump near as many routes automatically. Much more organic feel...and all on Heisman. Very impressive.

Other than the typical Heisman strength boosts such as seeing my Front seven in pancaked in unison....it plays a great game on default.

Heisman with a -10 or so to CPU Run Block, maybe +5 to Human rush defense and I think Heisman is going to be absolutely awesome this year.

If you dont think the field looks like crap then your just blinded by the hype and excitement of the game. NCAA has always been my favorite game and im really bummed at how awful the fields look

I have been asking for dreads since next gen hit. I was ecstatic when the 1st pic dropped and I saw them for the 1st time. Over the past couple of weeks people have really been nit picking about them, I figured they wouldn't bother me because it was better than Madden's tie ups.

BOY WAS I WRONG.

Like seriously what was the art team thinking. That combined w/ them randomizing players w/ long hair is real bothersome mostly because I only play Online Ranked & Online Dynasty games. ex: giving #21 Heisman candidate dreads is absurd.

I loved Ncaa 11 and still played it until the demo dropped Hours ago. Since I play online 90% of the time, most gameplay complaints(which usually deal w/ the CPU) do not affect my enjoyment. I usually buy the better game between Madden and Ncaa. 2 years ago it was Madden 10, last year it was Ncaa 11.

SN: Please don't listen to the "This game is 11.5" ppl. I played well over 550 games of Ncaa 11 and besides the commentary It feels VERY new and 12 to me. Variations in tackles being abundant and the reduction of suction are HUGE.

Thumbs up for the improvements to punt returning. I'm playing all american and I'm able to get at least 5~10 yards per punt because my guys are actually blocking for me. It also looks like punts can be blocked this along with field goals though I haven't seen one yet.

Meh. Color me unimpressed so far. The dreads are way to floaty, the tackling seems like its weightless and everything feels like last year. I just don't feel any weight to the players. I got bored after 20 minutes. Not cool.

On the bright side it looks nicer. The grass and lighting looks nice.

Overall, I feel like its NCAA 11 with 3d grass and better lighting. I'll play it some more and see what I think of it, but so far, this is a pretty big pas for me.

Also, I'm drunk. So take what I say with a grain of salt. Haha.

Just got done playing the demo. It was actually really good. havent played ncaa in a while but im definitely giving it a shot this year.
Pros: 1) the tackling system this year is so much more fluid and WAY better
2) the 3D grass looks amazing along with the HDR lighting
3) the college atmosphere and team intros look amazing
4) zone and man coverage is great this year too

Cons: 1) the commentary could use a little upgrade
2) no jump ball animation in the endzone with wide receivers and corner-backs.

All in all, a good demo, and looks like it will be a great game. definitely a day-one purchase for me.

I just played my second game, this time as Oregon versus Texas on All-American difficulty, and I still found myself sacking their QB almost every time they dropped back to pass, and getting sacked a lot while dropping back to pass. I did see a couple things I did like though.

- I like the new zone awarness by the defense. I found myself actually calling zone defenses and being productive, as opposed to calling man coverage 99% of the time in NCAA 11.

- I really like how the new tackling system looks. It looks WAY MORE realistic, and actually plays out really well.

- On Texas's only score; I beat them 39-7, their player, #2, picked me off, made a nice spin when I went to tackle him, and somehow kept is footing as he was about to fall and housed it on me for a pick six. It was one of the coolest animations I have seen in any NCAA football game!!!

Overall, with some fine tuning and some use of the sliders, I can see myself really enjoying NCAA 12 this year.

They do block better, however I do believe that the coverage teams need to stay in their lanes to get more accurate returns. Right now they just run in the middle of the field in a big blob.
