First NCAA Football 12 Dynasty Mode Details Revealed

IGN posted a story today detailing some of the additions to Dynasty mode in NCAA Football 12.

The biggest change seems to be the ability to create a coach and move up the coaching ranks. Many folks have been begging for a "coaching carousel" in this series, so this addition seems like it should make a lot of people happy.

	...EA and Tiburon have responded and given players the ability to create their own coaches from scratch. You can modify looks, set ages and even pick an alma mater. Save these changes, and you can share them with the world and every mode in your game. That stuff might sound cosmetic, but it plays into the cool changes in Dynasty mode. When you start, you can choose to go be the head coach of whatever school you like, but the real challenge is taking on one of the new offensive or defensive coordinator slots and working your way up to running an entire team. Yes, this year you can be one of the assistant coaches and manage just one side of the ball for entire games. Do well, and the shot at a head coaching job might pop up.

The story also mentions some details about Online Dynasty mode, including confirmation that you will be able to simulate online dynasty games from your computer.

If you're a more visual person, IGN has also posted a video preview detailing these changes.

On a level beyond the additions themselves, the biggest change this year just seems to be the ability to customize the experience to your liking. The folks at EA Tiburon have been relatively rigid when it comes to customizing players, leagues and so forth, but the shackles seem to be coming off in both football games now.

More details should be released about this mode and the Road to Glory mode in the near future. The embargo for all media as it relates to these modes lifts on May 23.

No, cause I kinda feel the same way. If I had to buy one game only, I'm probably gonna buy NCAA 12. Can't wait to hear about Road to Glory. The game sound really good so far.

No real coaches are not in the game. There are genric names given to all of the head coaches, defensive coordinators, and offensive coordinators in the game. You will be able to edit all coaches and everything about them as well as share them with people just like the rosters. Hopefully someone finds the time to edit all of the head coaches and coordinators, it would suck having to enter them myself.

I disagree, offensive and defensive coordinators recruit both sides of the football. I hope we can recruit both, but I won't be upset if your only allowed to recruit your specific side of the ball

I do not think that will be a problem, editing the coaches, coordinators will be much less work then editing and naming the rosters.

I could probably name the coaches myself, changing their appearance is a whole other beast that I won't touch

Im sure that it doesnt go into THAT much detail in editing the coaches. My guess would be Large, medium, and skinny build. Old, middle aged, and young. glasses or no glasses. Things like that

Any word on if we will be able to fully edit players in dynasty, since they seem to focused on making dynasty customizable?

Will CPU coaches move around as well with the coaching carousal and will those team offenses and defenses change with coaching changes?

Looks like we get options like X- Large, Large, etc. Then shirt typ,e glasses or not, dark or light skinned, hat type or no hat, and from the videos you could choose age, prestige, and a few others slipping my mind right now.

So not too in depth, but definitely not bare.

I just got the biggest boner of my life! That is the best news I've heard ever about a video game. This is a day one purchase no doubt. Hell, I might even buy 2 or 3 copies just to support the game. This looks incredible!

From the video it's either light or dark skin, small medium or large, and a certain number of faces, it says XL-5 but there may be more or less. I may be able to do it if it's generic but if it starts getting in depth I wouldn't have the patience to do it. Otherwise like I said wouldn't be too hard, besides giving some coordinators their prestige.

No sure on your first question, but yes too the second... it showed that in the video.

Will the have coach profiles. For example if you hire the head coach or offensive coordinator from oklahoma state will you now run the spread offense, or if you hire the defensive coordinator or head coach from tcu will you run the 4-2-5?

EDIT:IDK if the post before mines is answering this question because the post he responded too basically asked 2 questions in one sentence
