One postive thing about this development team is its commitment to their product. Anyone who plays nhl11 know that we blink our eyes and we have a tuner update and they listen to the community feedback! The beta product is not bad, actually has fun factor and I believe these guys tune this up sooner rather than later!

2 things that I had problems with is that I saw the dreaded live10 fade away 3!! Please delete that. The other is, one game I had about every shot I threw up blocked, I was swarmed with lack of ai teammate rotation

Well, My impression of NBA Elite 11 was truely HEARTBREAKING. Im really an ANTI 2k dude and a die hard live fan. I have been playing live since 2008 came out and I have been hooked ever since. Before that I never played basketball games because I really couldn't stand 2k and still cant. But anyway, I honestly feel that Elite tried to incorporate 2k's body movements and jump shot with the total control. To me Elite tried to be something that its not. I feel that the game tried to hard to beat something else instead of beating it self, and just being itself.

I do see myself playing elite in the future but I dont see myself actually purchasing the game. Only because I dont believe in what you guys are trying to do with this years product and franchise. It just doesnt feel like a Live video game. For this year I guess Im stuck with just hooping in real life but, I only have so many years of that because people do get old. I hope that you guys fix the problems and concerns of elite in next years product and I will be patiently waiting for that to happen until next year. Good luck elite!

This is by far the worst game ever created for next-generation, it reminds me of NBA Live '97. I find this game embarrassing and insulting!

I was so looking forward to this game, as I thought EA Live was getting better each year, but NBA Elite 11 is a horrible game. The player movement is so very rough and choppy, and the ball physics are bad as well. Like many people said already, it plays like a previous generation game, it's a huge step backwards, and EA may be done if this is what they consider a good basketball game. It plays like an old NBA Jam game, and the players seem small and the player graphics are creepy bad. Not gonna comment on the sound or the controls, as I didn't even finish the game, because I was so disappointed. Passing with the R2 is a bad idea as well. I really don't know how this game is getting released. Very very disappointed, not much more to say.

Trust me they don't listen...

I edit too Play actually influenced ol' Tomba(always give em credit for that)but the game doesn't feel like it can be edited this year which is one reason why i like even playing sports game unless they're soccer ones.

But the impression left on me from this demo is that the developers were GUIDED too strongly by the main guy producing the game and that's Litman(he knows his hockey) but the flow of the game just does not look right. meaning why can't someone just look at the game and say "that doesn't move like NBA ball at all" and then tell them what to fix?

Instead it's "the controls aren't right" "change the controls"? We've been changing controls for ages lets changes the animations the way things look after a player bumps into something etc...lets add depth of vision NOT control

After playing the demo again multiple times last night I can say that I'm still not feeling this years title, I just began to notice to much things that just annoys me, mainly contact animations, it doesn't look realistic at all especially when players engage contact on a layup attempt, one player would seem to be much higher in the air for some reason on the point of contact which just doesn't look right, at times players would run down court and the smallest amount of contact would make your player do a stumble bump animation that takes you out of the play.

Also too many times, I have lost control of my player when there is a loose ball, I do not know if this was intentional or not but I was not feeling that at all, (Note: I am playing Become Legendary mode) it's quite annoying that if the ball is loose and is heading out of bounds your player will still try to chase down the ball and try to pick it up even though the defender poked it loose and it would clearly remain your teams ball, you just loose a control of your player and it feels cpu ran.

I thought that I would like the whole no sprint button, but I think it's really much needed especially on fastbreaks, I had of couple of fastbreaks that I should have been able to capitalize on for easy 2 points but I just didn't seem like my players was even sprinting down court to try and get an easy bucket and the defenders was just able to get back on D with ease.

I really don't like the rebounding game, I have yet to see box outs or even figure out how to box out if at all possible which really annoys me...it just seems like ball off the rim, if your anywhere near it just jump and the rebound is yours and players aren't going to challenge you for a rebound.

I will say one positive though Become Legendary mode is a very addictive, I like how it is constructed I keep finding myself going back to play it just to see if I can improve my draft position and I have gotten as high as 4th overall projection in the draft... now I will say it's kind of easy to get drafted fairly high in the game and I wish it was more difficult to get drafted higher because I have yet to fall farther than 10 overall projection. Wish the CAPs was a much better model but I don't know how the create a player feature is in the retail version but right now it doesn't look changed. Still a good mode far as I can see, just the on court action I'm just not feeling it.

I'm at the point where I am not making too many user errors with my players,..except for the passing!!

I'm not sure if I understand how this R1+L stick is supposed to function..I think I am passing to one guy but the ball goes somewhere else.

I have a hunch that where your pass goes has something to do with the facing who you want to throw the pass to?

If I can figure that out, my enjoyment level will go up another notch

Can any of the Devs comment on this ??

Is this only a "demo" thing for the PS3 ??

Will it be cleaned up for the retail game ???

Sidenote: Why do the players always run after the ball out of bounds ?? I believe that was a problem in live 09 ??? Why has it come back again this season ??

Honestly judging from playing the demo this is pretty sad, hopefully the retail will play much better. Not worth purchasing IMO if going off demo play.

I downloaded the demo and have been playing it on the 360. My impressions are solid with this game so far. The controls with trying to do crossovers and spins are sluggish. I find it difficult to steal the ball but the computer rips it from me everytime. I love the shooting in the demo. I was firing 3's like Reggie Miller tearing up the Knicks! I played the Legendary mode and had a hard time playing with either a forward or center but whooped up as a guard. The 5 v 5 is a little sluggish but after playing the game I think I will get used to it. I love the new controls & of course it is going to take a little getting used to. My favorite is the shooting and after playing a few times I was able to light up the Celtics with Kobe either guarded or unguarded. I am glad that EA kept the direct passin with the analog stick and being able to use players off ball to get open. I would say that I am excited to create a player and get in on the Basketball League action when the game drops. I have always loved basketball games from double dribble to jordan vs bird to playin Live 95 to present day. I used to play 2K till 2K9 which turned me to NBA Live 09 and team play got me addicted. I rented both 2010 versions and hated the Live 10 demo but ended up buying the game. 2K has got better visuals and commentating but EA has got better controls and for me thats what makes a game.

Peace ya'll from Tenn.

So, IMO, Elite has potential to be a solid title. I was playing the demo this morning and while in the Become Legendary Mode my created character was locked in a battle with John Wall at the pg position. With the new controls i felt like i was really going head to head with this guy! the more i took it to him the more he brought it to me! It was great! i really saw what it was the dev team was tryna pull off and i enjoyed it. as for the graphics in the play now portion of the demo, i think it was dummied down a bit to put more focus on the 5on5 controls because the Jordan Showcase looked awesome. Definitely gonna grab this on day1. gettin 2k11 too(jordan!!)

I give the demo a dry run last night. I really like the practice mode in the beginning. Really shows the user how the game is played. I don't know about the all out skill factor with the analog. Might not be too nice for a casual user. Especially with someone who loves buttons. But the pracitce mode was really part together nicely.

Now my problem with the game once I got into a game. I didn't know how to make passes. I blame not knowing the controller scheme. The pro-hop step button got me in trouble too many times lol.

I know its only the demo.. But the player models look really bad. The way the players stood they. It just looked arkward...

I need more time. I'll get back to you.

I'm pretty much convinced that there are a good chunk of posters on this thread who have not played the demo, and are youtube acolytes.

Be that as it may, It looks like "Crack Head Point Guard" has returned, in late game situations.

He's been in the detox clinic since '08, but he must have fallen off the wagon this year.

Overtime situation, and for the last 50 seconds of the game, Rondo turns into A.I. keyed up on smack.

Inbound play he immediately catches and chucks up a 22 footer.

There was still enough time on the shot clock to pass to someone coming off of the screen: Pierce or Allen perhaps, for a better shot.

He then proceeds to just jack up shots, for the next 3 trips down the floor.

Horrible, off the dribble, contested 18 foot J's.

The C's were playing well as a team up to that point, but the guy single handily, nuked the game inside of 50 seconds...it was really bizarre to witness.

Tried it again w/ a clear mind. With one player in the practice gym, you can see the potential this has, but that potential isn't even closed to being realized on the court IMO....took a game that was due for a lot of animations to represent scenarios properly and a Franchise mode upgrade to.........Elite. Who needs those two things and everything else it downgraded smh.

Although in my opinion, Live10 jumpshots momentum was the best ever. It felt very natural and had a nice flow.

Something I'm noticing is that unless I call a play, I'm pretty much playing one on one vs the pointguard at times. I guess I need to call more plays.(Not sure if this is because DNA has not been implemented in the demo).

On the graphics subject, aside from the 'way too shiny' Live10 models, I was hoping for something similar to it.

The commentary is well done.

The crowd waving the towels simultaneously does't look well. I think I see that during freethrow cutscenes.

Would have also liked a turbo button, but overall the game can be fun.
As Courtvision was saying, the better you get, the worse the game looks and feels (AI issues galore), so I'm guessing the game will feel less rewarding as you advance as a CONTROL GENIUS. How long that takes, who knows? Couple days or a month. then what? Controls can only get you so far.

The ultimate suggestion may be to follow Playmakers 'advice',and blast some loud music, kick back, and forget everything youve ever learned about the sport of basketball, and be immersed that way. It's happened to me. It reminded me of my childhood just playing SNES Nba live 97 with no care in the world.

It has that sort of pre NEXT GEN gaming feel to it. We knew Nba live 2001 was a video game. Games have been trying to get closer and closer to reality over the years..

For a change, Elite 11 appears to be going back in time, making it okay to feel and act like a video game.

It's just not fluid at all, and maybe it's me on this one, but there's a lack of fast breaks, I want to push the ball down the court when I want to and make plays...the more I play it, the more I see that this is not an authentic basketball game. I really do wish EA brings back NBA Street, especially like the way it was on PS2...Games like that they really specialize in.
Just as I suspected -no fastbreaks. These new controls notwithstanding you can't release a "sim" game with a braindead AI.

I did notice some slow down when players get close together for a dunk or during a rebound. its much harder to hit a shot than live 2010 too. I had to switch the camera angle to broadcast as well, but I was pleasantly surprised.

i used the live 2010 controls, as I dont like change.

Live 10 was the perfect game to build off of and they went in an entirely different direction. Elite is in no way a representation of sim basketball. Slight improvements to Live 10 and a solid list of features and the Live series would have been fine. Now I think the death of this franchise is inevitable and I don't even believe NBA Jam can save it.
Agreed. All they needed to do to Live 10 was add more animations, continue to improve the AI, add more attributes to differentiate the players, allow more than 50 CAPS and fix the fastbreaks -heck I would have just settled for fixing the fastbreaks.
