The problem i see mostly is ppl seemed to think they would be playing a different game than NBA 2k, even after they quoted Czar millions of times.

Man I hate it when I rebound the ball near the basket and use the shot stick expecting to put it up for a layup or dunk. Instead my controlled player just tries dribbling the ball around like a moron. So when I'm in those situations I have to press the 'X' button. Even then they'll most likely miss the shot.

Oh I forgot a few more things to mention. Seems like the stamina bar was taken out so people might probably abuse the RT a lot, again. Also I'd like to see the players that aren't dressed out in a uniform in at least a suit sitting on the bench. Just another one of those small things but no big deal.

Actually, you can, but not with the "fake pass" button. If you hold the Shot Modifier + RS towards the rim, you might do a fake pass layup which I'm sure you can pass out of. However, I only did it once with Kobe and the rest were eurosteps, so it's kind of inconsistent. Though, if you play with Rondo in the retail his package might allow for more moving ball fakes that way.

Anyone else figure out the "flick flick" up and under moves with bigs in the post faced up? Thing of beauty.

Yup, I've seen this happen to Garnett. He drove, made contact with Gasol and drew a foul. There was a stumbling animation and then he grabbed his hip. He stayed in the game to take the free throws. I noticed he was hobbling up and down the court the rest of the game.

The 360 controls feel too tight while the PS3 controls feel just right. The PS3 graphics are okay, but the 360 graphics does blow it away. The sound is better on the PS3, but it's still good on the 360. I have seen different things on the PS3 that I have yet to see on the 360. From the ball bouncing onto the hoop and over the backboard to players rebounding on each end of the court.

All in all both versions prove to be a great game of basketball. I see very little room this year for being cheesed, with the great defensive A.I., rebounding, and ball deflections, I am pleased. So many times have I thrown the ball right to the defense, but in 2k10, passing was too easy; just didn't make sense. NBA 2k11 is real basketball, that other game won't even have a slim chance at all.

So, run up and get done up real ballers, bring your A game, because with me running DWade, I will be the real shot caller.

Peace!!

What do you think guys?

Still rough before I got a full grip on the controls as you can tell

SICK. Some of those highlights could be mistaken for real life, especially the 2 hand fast break where the colors changed.

Some of the dunks that were done in heavy traffic just didn't feel right. I would of probably went for a layup seeing how Kobe really isn't a banger anymore. The other moves you was pulling off with the jumpers was so smooth. Good vid overall.

First of all, I already stated the improvement made that I liked. Secondly, I would think pointing out what needs to improve and what changes need to be made to bringing in that improvement is adding more "value" than just sitting idly by while praising the game endlessly. But maybe that's just me.

Agreed, that was one of those where someone walking through the room would see it and think it's a game without a 2nd thought -- amazing-looking game this year.

I also just want to say that the momentum in this game is soo great..people are bashing it but if you play real ball you know the way the game is played IRL....over playing someone on defense will get you played alot on the court and I love the fact that if you guess wrong on what the offensive player will do, will get you broke off..lol the RTP in this years game is nice also....I can not wait till this game comes out...!!

Defense will be the difference this year for sure.....again last night Paul Gasol slapped the Sh - - out of Rondo's move to the bucket hard off the board..it was funny as hell...Kobe's moves to the basket are poetry in motion....all I can say is this game is a "DAY ONE PURCHASE"
u gotta use the "flick flick" controls to fake pass & shoot wen u drive...

hold the left trigger or L2 wen driving. no need for turbo

then flick the shot stick like a pump fake or like u goin another direction(still holdin Trigger or L2)

then release the trigger or L2 and move the stick up. down. left. or right to get different shot/layup animations.

the key is timing or else u'll just get a pump fake, a fake pass, or a misdirection with no shot after

but u'll get the hang of it with kobe.

of course its only the demo so we cant use players tht would b great with this like derrick rose, and chris paul but wen u start to get the hang of how the shot modifier/dribble modifier(left trigger or L2 lol) really works its some crazy inovation. the possibility is almost endless...regular layups. up. down. left. right. (w/no turbo) or (w/turbo). or add the (shot modifier) with the trigger and get a completely different variety of layups WITH flare @ ur disposal. not to mention u still need speed to dunk so pressing (turbo w/shot modifier) still gives u dunks AND/OR! layups depending on the player, his position on the court, which way you move the stick AND/OR! the situation.

and this is jus the demo but once u start gettin the hang of knowing wen to execute the moves i thnk u'll enjoy the control u have.

try givin the ball 2 kobe every time down the court and wait for space to clear. give a couple jab steps with the modifier to create space to drive with kobe. and while still holding the trigger with no turbo flick the stick the direction u want to fake except down of course becuz wht sense would a down fake make (lol u can really flick down for a pump fake animation tho) then like i said before finish out the shot animation by letting the modifier go and moving the stick in another direction. i thnk u can use turbo as well but i say lay off the turbo until u can clearly see its time to use it becuz it cause more contact in the paint area. without turbo u'll atempt a layup or shot(the shots out of the fakes with kobe are ridiculous. looks just like him in the demo) with it its like trying to dunk bcuz thts wht the command is telling the system regardless of the situation (2k gives u control) so only use turbo wen u clearly have the advantage to use it other wise its a waste of energy (not sure if u can use the modifier for the fake AND for the finish yet. havnt been able to get that timing down but im sure u can if u let it go.) works every time and i've seen a different animation every time it works. give it a try with kobe tho.

im gonna go try out some more moves. u can still hop step and hop spin on command with trianlge or y i thnk 2 so im gonna see wht those look like. not 2 mention the sig gathers. crazy control

Overall, the defense is really good. But the offense is super stale. What kind of stuff are you guys doing to score( in a non-cheesy drive and dunk way)? I mean, they still haven't created what it feels like to be in control of a player and the interaction between a defender and an offensive player. There is no iso game for the jumper, and even when you do get an iso jumper it doesn't look or feel real. It's just like you wiggled and he moved to the side and then you shot a jumper.

The players look disinterested in the action, they don't move well and they seem unfocused on the ball or anywhere outside if their animation. It's like everyone is in a little bubble... animated perfectly, but since they don't take into account everything outside of the bubble (unless the animations are being affected by the players getting too close) it looks extremely dry.

I can't even get hype for the unrealistic dunks, either. Everything on the offensive side of the ball is extremely weak to me. On defense, I like a lot of the subtle details that they added, but it would be nice to have that sort of control on offense, too.

I'd be very disappointed but I didn't expect it was going to be totally different like people say it will be every year. But I was expecting a better demo.

I still think 2k8 is more responsive and gives a better brand of basketball, by far.

Edit:

My last game was a blowout... 4 to 1... lol.

This is probably the most inaccurate post I've read about the game thus far....

A game in slow motion? This is the first game to capture the real pace of NBA speeds.. all the past 2K's were way too fast.. players ran like they're on steroids and big men were as fast as guards.. this is the first game where you can actually tell how much faster Rondo is than Derek Fisher to the point where Fisher actually "feels" and "looks" old..

Players are disinterested in offense? Every time your player gets doubled your big man or guard make a backdoor cut.. I've executed a wealth of over the head passes to cutters under the basket.. they constantly move around screens and set themselves up in the post.. I don't know how many times Gasol fought inside waiting for me to pass it to him and Bynum would float around the basket depending on where the play was developing while Fisher and Artest would run around to the corners waiting for an open jumper... they also clear out for Gasol in the post several times or for Kobe for him to Iso.. this game captures the Lakers triangle offense perfectly most of the time even with the AI on pro.. the fact that the AI is on pro and is this good both on offense and defense is just scary.. I don't know what you're seeing but it sounds like a completely different game to me. Perhaps you're too focused on your own player on offense (ie Kobe).

The dunks look unrealistic? I've only seen about 5-7 dunks in 10 games played and they were all realistic but that is your opinion.. in fact this whole thing is your opinion but I think it is pretty far off from what everyone else is seeing.. "wiggle side to side and shoot a jumper"? What does this even mean? Are you sure you didn't play NBA Elite 11?

I am not sure about the demo either. Compare this to 2k7 is night and day...i am not feeling like i am in total control of the player. The game is just slow just like any other game since 2k7. When i used Fisher to try to steal the ball, he did a lunge forward animation and i can not stop the animation. I am still feeling like there is .5 sec in delay in control responsiveness. I thought i heard them say that it's more responsive..well, it ain't nothing like 2k7 that's for sure. If i want to move a player, i don't want to drag them ..i want to feel responsive and do what i want the player to do and do it quick.

I might still give this game a try just because they added so many features. But man i have to play by its own rule...which is a slow pace basketball game.
