All I can say is WOW...went home and played a couple of games at lunch. Its pretty much EVERYTHING I've wanted in a video BBALL ...If you gamble the pc wont dribble around and wait for you to recover...they will launch the 3 or drive. So many wow moments to comment on...but one in particular had a tip pass end up in Ron Ron's hand cutting to the basket, man oh man did Perk get posterized...and 1
Everybody stand up and clap for 'em.....(2K)
I feel the exact same way man! I'm so excited to play the full game! yes there are going to be flaws in the game but from what i'm seeing right now this game is very close to being the perfect nba simulation
I wonder what made 2k change the movement and controls so drastically after 2k8. It seems like if they would have just fine tuned that system then the controls, momentum, etc would be fine right now.
Also just noticed Ray Allen completely boom on Gasol, despite Gasol having good position, directly in front of him, met him at his peak, and bodied him. It looked like it should have been a block or at the very least killed Allen's momentum. Unfortunately the system didn't recognize that and allowed Allen to score basically an uncontested dunk, essentially pushing through a 7 footer in mid air.
Zwame forum. But very few users there actually posted opinions, but they are very positive.
Do you play on PS3? If so I have to add you, since online in 2k is usually a problem and I better have some friends from the same country to play against...
1 thing that stood out to me, that is probably different depending on the players sig shots but I hope can be changed in the future, is the pump fake. On the demo every time I pump faked everybody brought the ball drastically over there head and didnt really look like they were about to shoot. But thats a small thing. Everything else is spectacular. Live was promoting looks over controls and 2K has the looks, controls, features, and JORDAN, etc. etc.... Live gets blown away this year. Go 2K!
I actually feel the exact opposite . The control feels incredibly responsive to me. The overall movement of the game is just a lot better than last years game, and i liked last years game a lot.
I don't think Pared is really being that much of a "downer". He's right. When you first get into it, think 2K10, you're going to go through an adjustment period. Czar even said this. But once you "get it", you range between acceptance to loving it. Some people get to that point faster than others. So, I think Pared has a MORE than fair gripe as do others. But I also think that the controls are more responsive and FAR more CONSISTENT than 2K10.
I love the demo.. I love the controls and how everyone is different but yet still be effective. Derek Fisher and Steve Blake is even a bigger difference this year. (Just foul out Derek Fisher). Im going to foul out Gasol or Bynum, so i can get some time with Odom. All in all, Im really liking what 2k is bringing to the table this year.
I just have to say the to me personally not including plays was an **** fail. That is a big part of their authentic movement and they have a 10 day feature on it and they drop the dang demo and all the sudden they want me to take it too the playground... I understand it could just be because I have played the full game but this is just bad to me. To exclude one of your best features out of the demo is a FAIL....
So I downloaded the demo and played a few games early and haven't touched it since. MEH... and YES I'm serious.
Please use the feathering of the stick to avoid the heavy shifts in momentum. Remember the slightest defensive movements can get you open... YOu don't HAVE to cross someone if a simple change of direction will do.
I was so heavy handed coming from 2k10 that I know that has to effect more of you guys also. Try it out on both offense and defense. On d try to use the least amount of pressure that will keep you in front of your man.
The issue with the momentum is intrinsically linked to the new controls. Last year, Iso motion was heavily influenced by RT (turbo). You would need a a little running start to commence isomotion.
This year, iso motion has NOTHING to do with turbo (RT), it is almost exclusively linked to the LT. As soon as that clicked for me, the controls and momentum became instantly intuitive, especially when chaining the moves together.
Hope that's the case. I'll give it some more time.
Really odd considering I've always felt in control in the past. You know this obviously from playing me.
very nice demo, the sig moves (kobe's setup dribble) are so sick!!!! I can't wait till Oct. 5th...the money i didn't waste on Madden will be put to good use: NBA2K11!!!
So smooth. Stringing moves together without hitches in animation, momentum giving players a sense of purpose on offense and defense. I like what I'm seeing.
Yah but it's not consistent. I see why because if you could do it everytime it could get abusive, but it seems like I can intentionally foul more consistently.
I just did a good hard foul with Artest though. It looked nice. I want to put Ray Allen the Dunkmaster on his butt.

That's where I'm at. I'm not dogging the game; Guys here know me. I'm just completely underwhelmed while playing.
On the other hand, watching Ray-Ray go through double screens is a sight to be-hold.
Im diggin the controls but there are times when I feel they are a bit restrictive. With a guy like KB, in a one on one situation , there aren't many players who can constrict his options. In some instances it feels like the defender is recovering from being faked out too quickly. In those cases it feels like you're attached to the defender and can't break away. An example being the hip ride animation they have. With KB I should be able to either spin off or go into a fake spin to fadeaway shot. Maybe this is possible and I haven't figured out how to pull it off. Anyone done it?
Nope in those animations you just have to wait it out man. Its supposed to simulate those times when the D has predicted your move and cut you off.
It does look odd at times because there are times when he shouldn't cut you off but he does. You just have to ease off on the iso at those times and look for something else.
I think it'll be less of an issue for me at least when I can play on the 2K cam. I just can't see where I'm going on this cam so when I think I've got a lane I don't. Or there's times where it looks like I've got a player beat but because my perception is off I can't tell how much room I really have to operate.
But if broadcast is your cam really pay attention to angles and where the defender will be going. If you anticipate where he's going you shouldn't be cut off as much.

Yes you have to stop watching the animations and do something when the contact happens you can spin out step away or initate any of your shots... That is just a bad habit those who choose to play this game will have to break... From this camera angle without the absolute controls it may be a tad more difficult than from the 2k cam but you can do it.
Control isn't that great; I expected more. Momentum is very, very heavy.
Audio missing was obviously going to happen. Detracts from the game, but it's a demo. Par for the course.
Can't call plays. Kills a lot of it for me.
I'm not going to state the obvious. There are some amazing things that shows the promise of the final. But all I read about was control... and I expected more.
I've only had a small sample but initial impressions weren't the best IMO.
I agree with everything up above! I did like alot of new stuff though too, but like you said its a demo and probably a bit older build as well but I was dissapointed in controls and heaviness at first too! I am getting used to it but I was expecting more responsiveness. I'm not hatin just calling it as i see it...

And centers get dunked on a lot. What's your point? It's not like Gasol is built like Shaq or DHoward. If I recall, Allen had a dunk with Howard on his back just last year. So, what's the beef?
