Hope that's the case. I'll give it some more time.
Really odd considering I've always felt in control in the past. You know this obviously from playing me.
You'll get it down Pared...I have faith in you...lol. I am surprised that you were essentially the only one to bring the heavy momentum issue to the to table. IMO, 2K has got to tone down the momentum, as it really gives off a stiff feeling that will alienate the casuals that aren't patient enough to master intracacies of the movement engine in correlation with the isomotion. We are all for realistic momentum and foot planting but it needs to be toned down for sure because it affects the fluidity of the game. And this is coming from an unabashed 2K fanboy.
game looks great, but they seriously need to look at there crowd graphics. There pretty ps2 if you ask me. Crowd cut scenes look bad also. Nice presentation and everything, just not clean looking.
You REALLY should go take a look at PS2 crowds for any game. Really.

Yeah, it was glaring to me. I noticed it immediately. It's not just in movement as well; The momentum shots REALLY take you further than I would expect.
Try taking Kobe and going from one side of the paint to the next, or towards the baseline.
I think from a video game aspect it works well to prevent the defense from contesting you and getting you a "clear" shot. But the amount of court they cover on a simple move is just... more than I would expect.
I like the players falling down from the mo' however. Just feels like it could be >tighter< and I'm hoping the final does this.
I did notice (and as someone pointed out to me) shooting is much, much more realistic. The ball doesn't magically warp to your hands. I like this change. What I find odd is no one mentioned it aside from the mo' shots.
actually some of those animations you feel you have to "wait out", you can brak out of...
THIS well said 24th. Its just a bad habit. Took me awhile to even get my brain around the fact that I could do something there and then longer to think what to do .... LOL
And centers get dunked on a lot. What's your point? It's not like Gasol is built like Shaq or DHoward. If I recall, Allen had a dunk with Howard on his back just last year. So, what's the beef?
On his back is entirely different, he beat Howard and got around him. To go over-top and through a 7 footer that's directly in front of you, for a guy like Ray Allen isn't realistic. I don't think we can really argue that. This is a sim community right? I think that's a legit complaint if so. So my beef is that the main issue that has plagued NBA 2k MIGHT still be present. My beef is that the play in the paint should be more realistic and more physical. Hopefully the sim sliders stop those sort of things from occurring.
On a positive note the mid range game is finally back! So when playing against other sim players unrealistic post play is tolerable so long as the mid range game is properly replicated. But, the big issue ever since they changed the online lobbies and rating system is actually finding other sim players to go against. Again to compare it to 2k8, it was easy to exploit the paint back then as well, but at least I could jump in the lobby and easily find someone who wouldn't cheese. So the fact that the post play was bad wasn't a big issue for me. If I can't have a real lobby w/feedback then that does nothing but magnify the problem since I can no longer avoid the cheesers.
I remeber a past 2k game had a similar feeling of heavy momentum, and there was a game slider that help reduced it. I forget the name of it, i will pop in 2k8/2k9 to firgure out what it was.
I don't know if this was posted yet but I am really impressed with Pierce's 3 point shot, looks just like him. So does KG's turnaround shot. Kobe is magnifecent. But I still really want to see Ray Allen come of a screen and pop an open 3. Great job 2K!
Please use the feathering of the stick to avoid the heavy shifts in momentum. Remember the slightest defensive movements can get you open... YOu don't HAVE to cross someone if a simple change of direction will do.
I was so heavy handed coming from 2k10 that I know that has to effect more of you guys also. Try it out on both offense and defense. On d try to use the least amount of pressure that will keep you in front of your man.
Interesting! I hope that is the case! Back to the demo I go! Thanks!
i agree Pared the momentum is heavy...what ive always wanted to do is a standing cross whenever you press it lightly to get the ball to the other hand the player kinda MOVES to position...i hate that..
anyway i finally got a HUGE block...KG was doing one of his fancy little post up moves when i just came out of no where and sent the ball to the stands...best part was the crowd went bananas!! bad part was that the players didnt seem to care...i was hoping some YEAH GASOL YOU SENT THAT ISH FLYING!
Are the controls more user friendly, do they make sense? Much improved?
Yes just gotta get to use to the momentum of the players and be able to maintain a feathery touch on the stick. You do those two things can you can have some pretty sick plays...
Why do we PS3 users always drive ourselves crazy hoping to get a demo early in the day lol. We all know it's gonna drop late. To think anything else is wishful thinking. Patience my people.

can't really complain to much we got the demo after release last year and the fact that the PNS now updates on Tuesdays I can wait a few more hours.
I GET IT lol. Thanx to everyone breaking down how to be gentle with the stick instead of trying to corner at 60mph, it all makes sense. LOVE the controls now. I actually like the heavy weighted feel that's been mentioned, cause honestly u only seem to feel it when ur trying to run and cut and cross while holding turbo, instead of with the left stick fluidly. It really is like Czar said, and I remember Ron mentioned it a few days back when the lightbulb went on for him about the new control scheme and how much fun he was having once he "got it". Not that I wasn't before, but I am completely sold!
Guys...realize Turbo is the same as Sprint now. U don't Sprint when trying to move laterally in real life or trying to shake a guy. That's your LT now. Once my mind wrapped around RT=Sprint, it was a whole new ball game. BTW...loved that Fisher couldn't catch Rondo om the fastbreak no matter how I Sprinted
