Hey guys...we will be putting out more and more videos as we drive to finish the game. Next week's videos will be direct capture, because these videos look a bit fast when just filmed with a camera in front of a TV. We will also have more gameplay that has not been seen yet...like put backs, more in-air collisions, hook shots, etc. As we get different dev guys playing the game, they each have different styles, so each set of videos will be different. We will focus on the CPU next week also. I will say that until you feel this game with your own hands (when you get the downloadable demo), it will be tough to understand how much control you truly have over the outcome of the game."
man 2K is way better .. By looking at this footage the player were ice skating backward when there were tying to bring the ball back out to reset the offense .. this is just another way 4 the Live series to keep there foot in the game .. did any1 noticed that every player had the same shooting form come on son.. i thought we got past that stage.. ill stick with my 2k
As a long time live fan for many years, I am trying to give them a chance but with each video I see it is not cutting it for me. Players are moving too fast all the time, not realistic. The "skating issue" is killing me, and player models....???? Just don't know. Haven't bought live since 06, the same year I started buying 2k, and it seems like this year is no different.
The alleys looks sweet,I didn't really notice the warping ppl are mentioning......but there is a noticeable delay between release and jump/catch/finish but it is worlds better than last yr...
And I totally agree with the skating..its most noticeable when taking off from triple-threat,like from a jab step or a shot fake.I hope they address it.could be a deal breaker.also, the presentation looks great, just like tv judging from this vid...
Lastly, the pivots are great as an idea, but they look suuuuuuuper stale and nonchalant, they need to look intense, like they're going hard.defenders are always trying to knock the ball loose any chance they get,so they need to appear to be protecting the rock as well. The best way to describe the way it looks now is like the defender is just standing there while his man does a piroette(however u spell it) right in front of him...lol watch it again and I bet you'll agree..
please realize that the defender isn't going to just stand there and let you pivot as you please, some if not most will be all in ur grill, and this should be used as a way to create space to get a shot off or drive,or simply see passing lanes...
Not sure if it was mentioned already, but why are the bench players standing up and falling over on the first score of the game? Last I checked that only happened on ridiculous highlight plays or clutch situations.
I liked the video but didn't get a sense of player weights. Big guys should be a bit slower down the court. Also there should be more impact when a guy is backing down. Hard to tell from video though. Offensive moves look nice.
looked way better than the last videos, but still not my type of sim experience. Players no differentiation, i noticed some morphing, alley oops were nice, couple of dribbling sequences were also nice, but it still seems like there is so quick suction, foot planting is bad, i don't think EA physic engine is the proble, Its their ANT system (animation system), i believe that is destrpying the game, at least for me, overall, much better, just not my style of game, won't be a day 1 pick for me, if the other game gets boring or has issues, i might look to this as an alternative, but this game seems like it will get quite dull after couple weeks of playing, but still will base my decision off hands on demo play!
Good video. It looks a lot like Live 10. I still love the controls, although I didn't see much use of the physics in this video. There was one play where Baron spun near the basket for a layup and just sort of "slide-pushed" Paul under the basket. Not cool. All in all, definitely an upgrade from what we've seen before and I look forward to more of the same.
Also, stay on broadcast please. The 2k camera doesn't look nearly as fluid for Elite.
Is this even the same build as in the previous videos? This looks alot better.
Pace seems ok and the animations look better to me than with the horrible north-south cam of the other videos.
The dunk animations look weird and I don't see a difference in shots between the players, but it's definately better than any other Elite video I've seen.
Love the stadium sounds(best in business) and improved presentation. BBall fundamentals are obviously there. Looks like the animations took a serious hit though. Some of them look like they are pulled straight out of Live 2004/2005(specifically the dribbling animations when going backwards). Still waiting on demo but haven't seen much of the physics engine at work in the paint.

A lot of the team that worked on Live 2005 helped develop this game so that could be a reason why...
Even though NBA 2K10 had major problems because of countless glitches and other stuff that wasn't removed even through the third update there won't be one second i'd hesitate saying the 2K series will again beat NBA Elite this year in terms of gameplay, authenticity and realism. EA has to do a lot more to eventually win the battle against 2K.
Talk about the video, without talking about 2k please. Thanks

Thanks Jano. That could explain it. While the control looks solid, the movement looks floaty as if they are elevated off the floor and not grounded at all. Still playing demo...
Ok... this looks a lot better than the other latest vids. Looking forward to the demo again... The post pivot seems to be exhibiting some of that control that they've been promoting. Looks Good!

How do you go back to the same thing your last generation of games where criticized most about? It doesn't make sense. All about control? Control IMO was never a problem in Live. And Live 10 was my game of choice last yr. Enhancements in control and very little improvement in other areas doesnt warrant a $60 purchase as the game wont have much longevity as i will be seeing Live 10 w/ more control and live 09 things added back in.
