Hey guys...we will be putting out more and more videos as we drive to finish the game. Next week's videos will be direct capture, because these videos look a bit fast when just filmed with a camera in front of a TV. We will also have more gameplay that has not been seen yet...like put backs, more in-air collisions, hook shots, etc. As we get different dev guys playing the game, they each have different styles, so each set of videos will be different. We will focus on the CPU next week also. I will say that until you feel this game with your own hands (when you get the downloadable demo), it will be tough to understand how much control you truly have over the outcome of the game."
Best Gameplay video by far! Great job on this one, commentary sound a bit better too....
Hate the Graphics...absolutely hate them.....But other than that, looks good. I just wish the user would stop crossing over so much and just play basketball....he's stick hitting like a mad man....
Just because you time your release doesnt mean its going to go in all of the time.
There's this thing called "ratings".
Looks good. That looks more like the Live 10, that I knew and loved.
You dont get it. Thats why they gave you this whole total control with shooting. Otherwise it wouldnt matter. If you time everything right with your jumpshot, it will go in 100% of the time. Now difficulty of the shot is something that varies.
Really? OK. Thanks. Now if you can explain what that has to do with the point of my statement, I'd be even more informed... Or were you just completely ignoring the context of that statement?

LOL. You say common sense. Talk to the designers. They said it's ALL on the user. If you hit the sweet spot, the ball will go in. So, as long as there IS a sweet spot, and some idiot savaunt can hit it all the time, the shot will go in. Of course, conditions in the game will make it harder or easier to hit that spot, but there are some freakishly talented button mashers out there. Just youtube the fighting game nuts that can time MULTIPLE buttons ON A FRAME of animation.

... and that was the point of me continually pointing out that cheeser at the event.
I saw it as a preview of whats to come and apart of the downside of this stick skills stuff.
You had better believe its going to happen.
Shoot he did an off the backboard dunk right in the face of 2 players that jt had on him on defense in the lane.
Since anyone can do that off the backboard thing, it wont be pretty : )
Feel sorry for you online random lovers who complain about cheesing all of the time
Looks a lot better than the other vids, really like how the iso-motion looks. The alley-ops and rebounds need a ton of work tho; they get too much vert.
both basketball games will have defensive problems but it just the first quarter alot of games i played in nba live 10 both would start hot in the beginning then we would end up shooting around 45% stop overreacting on 1 qtr of play we will see if this game will have defensive issues when the demo comes out
you have not even played any of the games yet let alone know that the other game will have defensive problems, I am not going to compare games so I will end it with that.
Like 23 was saying it looks like there will be holes that people will be able to exploit in this years game, I never agreed with the whole idea that if you hit the sweet spot you will make all your shots, I asked a question to the developers about this but never received an answer as to how if any does defensive pressure affect a shooter ability to make a shoot besides blocking the shoot of course .
While this angle DOES help the game look better, it still "looks" bad to me. Just bland console basketball gaming and that straddle-squat deally is very annoying. Who moves around the court defending like that?? EA needs to go study how real ballers defend. That defensive stance needs to be animated better and no one stays in that stance for that long of a period of time. Focus on defenders' footwork, EA, PLEASE cuz you're annoying the cuff out of me with that ish. This game really does remind me of Sony's former terrible looking and playing b-ball game.
Other than that, I'm waiting on that demo release.

I think I read it correctly, will signifiesfuture tense not past.
i dont know, i have played both games in the past, and i guess 2k doesnt really have the same problems as EA. Everytime i hear the reason behind using real time physics, and getting rid of 2P animations it is simply because EA hasnt figured out how to get away with it. Sure you will see some awkward instances in both games, but i see them occur more times in Live. What i am trying to say is 2P animations are not bad if you can figure out how to implement them in a variation of ways, and to also make sure that they occur in appropriate situations. EA has to either figure that out, or continue on their journey with this RTP engine. I guess its another wait and hope session for Elite supporters.
what kind of BS is that just play offline against the CPU really that is your solution.
bruh now you are the one attacking posters. I was just simply saying some may prefer to play offline and like it better then playing online if what 23 talked about is the case because the cpu wont exploit things that cheesers would.
I dont know how that is bs in the first place. There are alot of people who would just rather play dynasty mode, season mode or other game modes then play online anyway. Online is not for everyone
If a developer is reading this (reanimator or who ever) then Please please please pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssseeeeee improve the ball to rim physics or make some three point shots hit the rim while they go in like last years game and not just swishes everytime. This is a very important factor in the game...makes it feel realistic let alone look great. I like everything else about it so far.

Overreacting? Let me break down the conversation for you since you're having trouble following. Someone mentioned the soft defense. Call him Person A. Person B says, " oh they were playing man. Zone will be better.". I said that if it's a matter of zone/man, then considering the NBA is league where man is the by FAR the dominant defense, then that would be a problem. To which, you come with "it's a video game"...
So tell me where and to what am I overreacting? Did I say the defense is a problem? Don't think I did. What I said was that IF there is a problem, attributing it to man defense doesn't appease or dismiss it. Get it now?

Your defense will change the size of the window to hit the sweet spot.
