"Via David Littman.

Hey guys...we will be putting out more and more videos as we drive to finish the game. Next week's videos will be direct capture, because these videos look a bit fast when just filmed with a camera in front of a TV. We will also have more gameplay that has not been seen yet...like put backs, more in-air collisions, hook shots, etc. As we get different dev guys playing the game, they each have different styles, so each set of videos will be different. We will focus on the CPU next week also. I will say that until you feel this game with your own hands (when you get the downloadable demo), it will be tough to understand how much control you truly have over the outcome of the game."

It'll depend on what difficulty they set online at. If online is set to Superstar the shooting should be tough enough. One of the first things I want to do in the demo is see the size variance for shot success on different difficulties.

But from what I understand once you master the release of your shot it will go in 100% of the time. In all the videos we've seen from the devs there has been very few misses. And the pick and roll seems like it is an easy play to get points. Once the game and control is figured out by users especially online, I'm predicting it will be very easy to score.

Wow, just noticed the refs just standing there. I never even paid attention to that. Hope this gets fixed as well.

If they fix the refs and adjust the height of players jumping this could be a really good alternative basketball game. And if in the next few years they can make each player play like their real life counterparts they can compete for the number 1 spot.
If the ratings work like that did last year that should be easy to fix by changing the vertical attribute.

Overall this game looks it will be what Live 10 could have been if it didn't have all the suction problems. Because the controls for a lot of things were there last year its just that the suction didn't allow it to happen all the time.

Next year the game will probably be more sigged up and look a little more lifelike. So in some areas Elite definitely took a step back but in others it will probably be a step forward.

I can see this one being a lot of fun against the AI because there defense will probably be able to keep you in check better. And if the real AI works properly teams will attack you like they would in real life. So that alone can cover up that huge hole in the CPU AI of past Live's.

For online play it looks like the highest difficulty is probably going to be the best way to go. This way the CPU defenders are playing the best D they can (ie enforce the paint better, interecept more dumb passes, rotations should be improved, etc.). For the user it should make shot timing a lot harder and force them to play more under control because of the improved D.

I think I'm going to like playing this game as long as the controls are not too hard to pick up. And it should be a lot of fun in the coming years too as the devs polish it up and add more to the arsenal of controls on both defense and offense like they did with NHL and other games like that.

Reminds me of a old college basketball game that when ever you took a jumpshot this circle came up on the screen and all you had to do was release the button when the basketball went inside the circle and you made it everytime. forget the name of the game, it was for PS2.

I agree. Let's just hope they build upon what they have properly.

is double teamming the post automatic still?? because in the past the post would get doubled automatically whether u wanted or not or even warranted.. but i do like that kaman recovered 4 the help and defended the shot

Admiral I could be wrong but it looks like a better implementation than the old one. After one of the patches last year they added some of the old post mechanics including something similar I believe. Just looks a bit better to me. Could be my imagination Though.

Was for me at the event

Looked much better than the last few but the same game

That 2 handed dunk looks cool and it is initially, but its not something different between emeka and lebron

Not much to say i like or dislike myself...

The speed looks just like ours and for the same reason, its recorded off screen

Really? Interesting. Did the speed seem adequate though while playing it live? Because it looks to fast in the this video.

For sure the best one of the three so far...

1. Pick and Roll is definitely too easy to score, I think this is USER VS USER right? Maybe thats the reason, hopefully when I play against the CPU, the pick and roll won't be so easy to use, I see the big man rolling to the basket can get an easy layup or dunk almost everytime...??? Gotta work on that!

2. The dunks, WAY too many dunks, this is only a 5 mins gameplay but there are like 8 dunks or smt liek that already, way too much, turn it down, make the big man do more tapping backboard kind of layup will be perfect man...

3. The players all look the same, hey man, not all the black guys are equally black, Paul looks same as Okafor, West, I can't even tell the difference man other than by comparing their height, live 10 player models look much much better...

4. AND LAST QUESTION, is it true that if you master the shot you get 100%??? This is really scary to hear...and how come ALL PLAYERS SHOOT THE SAME WAY, WHERE ARE THE SIGNATURE SHOTS?????

Thats it for now...

I think this vid is a ray of the sun for some people here. I hope they got rid of the skating to the extent that it is not so noticeable.

My quick analysis, post up moves looks awesome. I hate the lack of variety between players. Everyone seems to be on the Atkins Diet. IMO offense looks way too easy and that's with the devs intentionally trying slow the pace down most of the time. Now for my biggest issue, players move around with no apparent indication of weight. Everyone seems like the can skate and turn on a dime. To fixed this issue a little loss of user control will need to be sacrifice. A crossover by Eddie House can not be as effective or as fast as a crossover done by Derrick Rose. And to close out I don't see how you are going to prevent cheesers from abusing the game. With so much control, this is going to be like a Cheeser's Utopia. I'm not saying that having control is a bad thing but it does open up a ton of new issues. I guess i wont be playing this online.

You don't need to make excuses. If it's difficult to play defense, then it's difficult to play defense. The guy has a point, and it does show some bad signs for players who play online.

Either way, this game has a good base, in my opinion, and should improve as a part of its 3-year plan.

A perfect example of how broadcast views make sport games look better no matter what.

Your right its still the same game. But I think what everyone is thinking or seeing for that matter is it looks like it plays better on broadcast. Now yes it haas a long way to go but this vid was a step in the right direction. Peace guys off to watch TCU vs Oregon ST.

Another issue I have, developers have to find a better way implement ratings in regards to user control, b/c whatever it is is not working. Okafer is looking like Hakeem out there. It also looks like, at least for the most part, if the ball hits the rim it going to be a miss.

I never see the CPU plays a zone defence against me, it is 99% man to man, also I don't see the difference between great defence team like Boston vs. Clippers when I played LIVE for the past decade, those excuses are terrible, I am sorry, but all I gotta say is ELITE needs to work on the defence against the pick and roll, the help d, the switch, the going behind the screen, all those gotta be looked at again, but I see lots and lots of great stuff in this video...ALSO hate the amount of dunks man!
