Our second NBA ELITE 11 gameplay video features more 5 on 5 action with NBA ELITE Gameplay Producer Novell Thomas taking on a CPU controlled Oklahoma City Thunder. The game is played on a pre-final build on All Star difficulty. Check out REAL AI in action as Kevin Durant attacks the basket with sequences that he recorded himself. You will be seeing more of these videos leading up to the demo.

Seems to me EA has engine trouble. Both NBA & Madden characters have a slightly cartoony look & jerky movements. I'm no expert but it's the same engine for both games right? I remember back on PS1 they took a yr off to get Maxden right. The yearly release schedule has to hurt development. I'm looking forward to the demo. May blow everybody away!

Hey rEAnimator you are the man. Like some others have already said you are a top notch developer to come on these threads and be so honest and face the heat of some ridiculous posts. I was already planning on buying the game because I am a believer in what the EA team is trying to do with RTP, but your class act has made me want to purchase it and support you even more.

So much disdain? Im not the one talking about graphics and animations looks so terrible or it looks like a ps2 game. The only thing i have said about live had to do with getting stuck in animations. That was my biggest gripe about that game. But i still loved the gameplay overall. And even if i didnt like it if i wanted to buy it then thats my problem. I dont know why you would find it funny.

With elite and the videos I have said things that i liked and things that i didnt like about it.

Hey rEAnimator here's some questions I asked a while back that were never answered:

We apparently were told that 2 player animations were responsible for all the sucking and pulling felt while playing D, something I too hated about Live 10. My question is when I deleted the patch the suction was gone but the game looked the same, so what's the difference?

I remember all the complaints about being able to stay w/your man when Live 10 was released, the patches came out, and that problem was solved. Isn't the truth about the defensive suction is that it was installed as a defensive aid and not a direct result of 2 player animation?

I do realize there were other suction sequences like during lay-ups and other drives to the basket but if the suction could be implemented and reduced w/code without reducing the animations can't the layup ones fall into the same category? Is the suction not simply caused by the threshold that's programed into the game to trigger the animations?

I am not really addressing the other benefits or losses affected by total control only the notion that suction is a direct result of two player animation, when it seems apparent that the event and it's threshold that triggers the two player animation to play out is the real cause of suction. Will you clarify this for me? Thanks in advance!

Also I appreciate your efforts and thick skin during this barrage from critics like me. In my case it's not about bashing your efforts only our common interest in the best game possible.

First, I wasn't talking about you having disdain for Live. It's pretty obvious you don't. What is obvious is your disdain for 2K. But it really doesn't matter. It's OT and that's why I deleted. I could care less really and I don't know why I posted it. I just thought it was funny. You've expended a LOT of energy defending Elite from MANY people that are actually fans of Elite. Yet, in your ignorance, you pass them off as 2K fanboys. I thought it was funny. But then I saw it's annoying 23, so I deleted my post. Sorry that I was too late.

When i look at the video the good outweighs the bad for me. It looks fun to me

Some look bad...others looked good to me...one of the spin moves actually looked user controlled and not a canimation...

You insult the other game every chance you get, saying you buy both games every year does not give you a free pass you do know that right, it's always funny as soon as someone says they buy both games on a particular forum it is then followed by how inferior the other game is.

and your point is. When you have 2 games then one of them is most likely better then the other one which is why im here in the elite forum. I play both every year cause they both have different things to offer. people are stating their opinion about the videos they saw they have the right, it does not mean they prefer the other game they just want the best game possible and acting like the videos we are seeing are perfect just because the game has a certain brand on the cover does not help make the game better, it is clear that there is a disconnect with EA and a majority of their consumer about what makes a NBA game, that is something worth discussing with out certain people giving blind praise and responding to other peoples comment like they work for EA.

I am also stating my opinions about the video but to tell me i have disdain for a game and im lying has nothing to do with the game. If you think i work for ea orwhatever more power to you then.

And once agian. Everyone including me has said thins they dont like about the game. Nobody has said its perfect or that they love the game cause its ea. Go through the entire post and read every thread before saying things like people give blind praise cause i sure have said what i dont like about the vids

Honestly, there's a lot in that video I like. No joke.

The blocks still have the same thing I've been complaining about in the recent gameplay Elite videos.

Check out the contest animations at 0:33 secs and 1:00. The pump fake and blow by animations at 1:07, the tip-in shot at 1:27, the back down animation at 2:18, the 1-handed push shot near the rim at 3:03. The blocking foul/charge at 4:00. Honestly guys, check them out.

I can give you the low down on that because I worked on that part.

If you pro hop or do a running gather directly into someone who is between you and the net you will get called for an offensive foul.

This is tuned based on the angle between the players, the angle you're moving in the hop and how long you've been in the move (short time means more likely a foul).

Initially this was causing there to be a lot of fouls in the game, so it was tuned back a couple of times.

Not sure where it finished off in the end, but the effect is definitely still going to be there to keep it from being an exploit.

So that will definity stop cheesers from using that but who know. Cheesers always find a way to cheese lol
