Once again this just all goes back to difference of opinion. You would rather see it look nice, and I would rather be in control of what i do when certain things happen.
Can I have both?

Lol that's what I'm saying, I want the total control but I want it to look nice too.

If the game is going to look THIS generic even in year 3 of this plan then its not something I can fully support.

I'm hoping that isn't the case though..

The main problem with Live/Elite over the years has been the animations. All they really had to do was add some good animations. Also improve player models. Wish this would have been there number 1 concern this year but unfortunately not.

Of course i want both to. Who dont? But to me live has been the better game and im saying that after buying both games every year. Neither game has fully delivered on both the graphics part and gameplay part at the same time imo. So if i had to pick one i would pick gameplay.

I know i havent played elite or 2k11 yet but after the things im seeing i believe elite will be the better game imo .

Im not a dedicated nba live/elite only fan. I buy both games every year. But you telling me that i cant ask him why he is here on the elite forum if he is obviously a 2k fan cause i surly got a warning for spammed advertisements for talking about 2k in an elite forum so telling someone to go buy 2k here is ok?

But in basketball you want to always be able to change directions, even when you come into contact with someone. With canned animations if you try and drive past someone thats what you get stuck doing ands have to wait till the animation is over to try another move, change direction, or do anything else.

Dude, if you think about it really nothing wrong with canned animations seeing as how just about every sports ever created (including backbreaker) is still using them to some degree. The key is being able to break out of those animations at the appropriate time which will still give the user some form of control. This is basically what 2k11 has done this year, and elite probably should have done the same.

Well if they can do that then im fine with it. I just dont like being stuck in an animation where i cant do anything. This is what they have done so im ok with it and think its better then what they have had in the past

Im tired of this completely.

Not one of you people have reported any kind of TOS violation as far as I can see. You got a warning then it was for a reason, point blank

...and I just told you why he's here, he's on a discussion board, its not a restricted zone. I could care less if he's an NBA 09 fan, you dont question the posters here about why they're here.. just stay on the subject and off of the posters

So what does 2k have to do with this video but sir yes sir you are the boss.

Back to the video. There was not a intro at all. Was that cause they didnt start recording until after it finished?

The same thing it does with you deciding you're the one that can tell people where to post because of their preference.

Its getting real old

Right, because only "kids" play the "other game." The reason why there are so many crazy comments is because a lot of people were taken back by how awful those videos looked. Personally, After playing nba live 10 a lot, I was shocked by how dated this game looked. Obviously no ones played the game yet so you can't say it's a complete failure, but let's just say it doesn't look good right now.

Sorry but by "kids" with quotes I mean that most (if not all) of the useless, immature comments come from fanboys of the other game...if it is anything like last year, once the games are released there were many critical yet constructive commenting going on around here...it was actually a great experience...

Wow, I just played a game of Live 10 last night online, and I can tell you one thing. I can't wait to see what it feels like to have total freedom on the floor.

I was trying to play defense and I was getting sucked and pulled all over the place, It was like having 2k's defensive assist option turned up to 100.

Trying to attack the rim and having it go into a 'lose your dribble animation' even though I beat the defender. trying to drive base line then my player starts to stumble out of bounds, and wont let me pass or call time out.

Freedom, and control. I'm interested more then ever right now to see how this feels.

I never told anyone where to post. I simply asked him why he was here. I dont know anyone here so i dont care what you like. Once again i received a spammed advertisement warning for comparing 2k to elite so i would expect what he said would not be allowed in this post.

And maybe cause you are simply just reading it and not having a face to face conversation with me it came off the way it did but i did not write it to sound as if i was telling him to leave
You're allowed to bash the games in their respective threads, but you're in no way allowed to compare or Bash 2k in the Elite forum and vice versa.

Am I right???

yessss this im waiting to see how that feels to. Im just worried about that hop step thats user controlled, like someone else said looks like it can be abused by cheesers. I just hope a defender being in front makes a difference somewhat in what u can do as a user.

# 278 Jano @ 09/03/10 06:25 PM
^ The freedom in control was one of the first things I picked up on when I played. Defense was so weird to play without all the animations to help you out though.

You really have to stay engaged and aware on D or you can get blown by pretty easily.

Same hear man I would really hate to see that becoming an exploit.

I think the Hop-Step will be a strong move for the offense as it is in real Life. You're able to steer the hop step this year (if I remember correctly), so deciding to hop around your defender is going to be a strong move.

I just hope it isn't too effective and players aren't doing it every time down the floor. Even though I have played ball with some one in real Life who would literally hop step every possession and we couldn't figure out a way to stop it. It was annoying but I couldn't say anything.

Yea I get everyone talking about the graphics. But those animations was the biggest problem i had with 10. You could tell you were going to lose to ball as soon as the animation started and you couldnt do anything about it. On rebounds you could tell who was going to get the rebound.

Im not saying elite is going to be a total sucess but seeing the video i could see that things are not pre-determined by the animation
