dm...

You can acquire them through one of three ways(putting aside the outside the U.S. issue)

1. pre-order
2. purchasing
3. getting platinum status.....you don't need platinum status to buy them....it is a totally independent thing.

Dave...its available via DLC at a later date as well as on the disc.

I typically get my games early, so I won't preorder the game for the voucher. I'll just wait for it to become available on the DLC and then pay for it. I'm not going to be using the stadiums much outside of exhibition games anyways.

I'm not going to be using the stadiums much outside of exhibition games and recreating playoff series in them by using Knight's classic set providing he does one this year.
Oh...I'll be doing MORE than one.
With the ability to injure guys on exact dates and for exact lengths of time....it's time to do a single season recreation....time for a little revenge of the 2000 season against the cross town rivals.
Subway Series 2000 recreation...here we come!

I'm a little suprised they didn't just have these set up like they do on the ps2, where you get points rewarded for things you do during games and then you can unlock the stadiums in the shop with those points you earned. Then again I'm always for things that avoid you having to go online to get certain things, because I don't like connecting my system to the internet.

watch the DLC be an outrageous price like $19.99 or something.

If you are not connected online, will the voucher code do you any good? In other words, if I'm not online, will I not be able to get the stadiums? Thanks.

Correct. If it's like every other pre-order bonus ever done for the PS3, you input the code into the PSN store and download it (or a small file that unlocks the on-disc content) from there.

I don't understand why scea wouldn't just include the stadiums first hand. Best buy is 45 minutes away; the gamestop here is full of pathetic workers who don't consider the customer as their first priority, as also it is the worst store you can possibly walk into with all the little brats begging their moms to buy every game in the store. I love to get my games from target, as I actually feel decent giving my 60 dollars towards their efforts. I would get it from Amazon, yet the chance of me receiving it March 2 is nearly impossible with the shipping. I really hate this new approach with these "pre-order deals", scea should know by now the game is so good people like me will buy a ps3 JUST for the show. I can see "the other game" being desperate to try to draw in more purchases, but cmon scea, the integrity of the company shouldn't have to look at this direction...

I'm not so sure about that...the voucher contains a code that you enter into the PSN store. You have to be online to get to the store.

I've done a bunch of these pre-order and beta downloads and they're all the same.

And just for reference, that isn't CPE info - just general knowledge of the PSN.

You read my mind, Knight. I was thinking yesterday about the possibility to do this with a classic season. This along with the new (or maybe I should say "old") stadiums is going to be great. I'm going to be anxiously waiting for this year's classic rosters once again!

Edit: Knight, are you going to do multiple single seasons or will you do one single season and then one similar to last year's? If you do multiple single seasons, how about a year that would be in the period of the classic stadiums we'll have? That would be sweet! (I don't want to derail this thread, so feel free to PM me if you don't want to clutter the board with your reply.)

I doubt it, I would guess no more than $5-$10.

It is just for an unlock key code (1-200KB in size) to get the stadiums right away. EA/2K has been doing this with their games for a while now, and they were not insanely priced.

Gladly pay for the classic stadiums, does anyone know what the process was in determining which stadiums would get picked? I like the ones that SCEA chose, but was a little disappointed about no recent stadiums i.e. Tiger Stadium, Candlestick, etc...

I was just curious how these stadiums were picked, anyone know?

Well, I'm just going to go to Best Buy and get a very long stretch of ethernet cable (and my pre-order voucher) so I can get these puppies. I need to do it anyway so I can download NCAA rosters this summer. This was just the kick in the pants I needed.

These stadiums that they included are the ones that have been included on the ps2 version for a while. So they didn't choose any different stadiums to create, just recreated the ones that they had on the ps2 for the ps3.

FYI: Apparently Canadians are in luck after all.

I did see the MLB 10 pre-order bonus on Amazon.ca.
