Pre-order the PS3 version of MLB 10: The Show at any of these retailers here: Best Buy, Amazon.com, WalMart, GameStop, Buy.com and JR.com
Can you preorder in-store at Best Buy or WalMart?

I'm just trying to stay away from GameStop

PS. The classic stadiums? .... look AMAZING

So it isn't just Gamestop....at least that complaint can be put to rest.

Would this be available through Canadian retailers as well?

Bad news for us outside the US

Will this be the only way to get these? I ask this because some Gamestop's are notorious for being clueless about these vouchers, and/or never getting them in. (never got my pre-order cars for the PSP Gran Turismo, they acted all clueless to it, thus I wont shop in store again for these incentives, more frustrating than it is worth)

Granted there are other retailers, but I would assume Wal-Mart would be just as unreliable for the voucher codes.

A 100% lock would be ordering online since they email you the codes, but some people cant wait and want the game on day one.

do you have to preorder online at walmart.com or can you in store?

# 8 countryboy @ 01/25/10 01:52 PM
judging simply by the wording of this(and Russell saying in an earlier thread the stadiums would be available to everyone)...I am thinking that you must have the voucher in order to get the parks for free. If not, its going to cost x amount of dollars to download.

Great news.
We SAID we'd pay for Classic Stadiums.
SCEA(as usual) gave us a way to get them for free if we want.
I don't think you can ask much more than that!

Stadiums look great.

One thing that's funny is the MLB.COM sign in left field at Griffith Stadium which stood from 1911 - 1965.

It must have taken forever to download highlights on mlb.com in the '60s!

HAHA!

Yeah...Kolbe and I went through the stadiums one by one and came up with a bunch of changes that MIGHT get implemented.
-manual scoreboards(they were digital)
-signage being era specific(in a couple of the stadiums they were as you mentioned.....modern.
-Kolbe went as far to saying he didn't like one of the stadium backdrops and was going to see if that could get updated.

This will all come down to how much crunch time was left.

Russell, my only issue is this:
Why was it then advertised as a feature of the game in the fact sheet? (And, many retailers have it listed as one of the new features of the game). It clearly said that the classic stadiums would be included in the game. I quote: “New Stadiums (PS3) – MLB 10 The Show will offer 11 new stadiums. In addition to all current MLB stadiums, five new Minor League venues are available, as well as classics parks now be available on the PS3 for the first time. The classic stadiums include Forbes Field, Crosley Field, Polo Grounds, Shibe Park, Sportsman Park, and Griffith Stadium.”

I am sure I am going to end up getting the DLC at some point. I'll find a way to buy the pack off the US store, but that's not the point. A mistake has been made and it must be acknowledged and (something I know won't happen) sony should stand by its word and include the classic staidums in the game.

it doesn't say they are included in the game, only that they will be available on the PS3. No mis-marketing here. The word "on" signifies that its not necessarily included "in the game" itself.

it says "MLB The Show will offer 11 Stadiums". 5 new minor league stadiums, plus 6 classic stadiums makes 11. PLus, why mention this in the game's features if it'll be offered as DLC? I took that quote from a canadian online retailer, which isn't mentioned among the pre-order stores.

# 18 bengtc @ 01/25/10 02:18 PM
has anyone ever preordered at a walmart store?

the Show does offer 11 stadiums. You just have to either a) get a voucher or b) pay to d/l the historical stadiums.

Again, there is no mis-marketing here. They never claimed that the historical stadiums would be offered for free on the game disc. They said that its "available on the PS3", which they are, via DLC.

The fact sheet stated the game will offer 11 new stadiums didn't say how you would obtain them
