Thanks for the reply, Russell.
First off, thank you and your colleagues for putting out, year after year, the best baseball game ever. It is without a doubt the best I have ever played. Respect.

Thanks for clearing things up.
But why advertise it, then? It is clearly misleading. I pre-ordered as soon as I read the fact sheet on that Canadian online store. I have honestly never seen a game advertising a feature that is not included in the game, but will be later as DLC.

Can you imagine a big game such as (sorry for the comparison) MW2 being advertised before release as follows?:
"MW2 will offer 4 multiplayer maps never seen before.*

Not necessarily included in the game*".

Again, I mean no disrespect. I just think it was obviously misleading.

I see it all the time.

They did announce DLC for MW2 before MW2 hit, DLC for Dragon Age, for Mass Effect 2, etc etc.

And there was just as much confusion about the Dragon Age one.

It happens, that is why we now got answers.

# 23 rodperezto @ 01/25/10 02:41 PM
Yeah, maybe in an interview they announce it. Granted.

But in the game features they send to the stores? I doubt it. And if that's been the case with those games too, then that's also misleading.

EDIT: Anyway, sorry all for the complaining and for cluttering the thread. I know things won't change. I still think, and I don't think anybody would convince me otherwise, that the information was misleading. But, case closed. Thank you all for your replies.

Dragon Age had it as a feature to stores and on Steam. People were all sorts of confused.

Anyhow... update on how to get them without pre-ordering.

The stadiums do actually exist in the game, but you need to achieve Platinum Status in the game, aka acquire all Trophies in order to unlock the stadiums. We decided to make it easier for many people who already love The Show to get them earlier, all for just pre-ordering the game.

^ Good luck with that, lol!

I honestly don't see whats so misleading about it. It said it was available. Never said anything about it being free, included on the disc, or if you even had to pay.

"available on the PS3" doesn't equate to in the game. All that statement says is that its available to the user, which it isvia DLC. A mis-interpretation by a customer doesn't equate to misleading. If that was the case, I could mis-interpret a lot of things and then claim the marketing was misleading.

Wow...not paid DLC. So its either pre-order or obtain all the trophies. As Nem said....good luck with that...LOL

any recommendations on where to pre-order? Ive never pre-orderd The Show because I am one of those crazy people that drives all over the night before its realease date to see if a store has shelved it....but I would like to get the stadiums, so I think this time I will, I just dont want to order from a store that is notorious for putting the game out like 4 days later!

any suggestions?

^^^Best Buy or Gamestop

Gamestop is notorious for not having the pre-order vouchers for you.

Best Buy usually has them on the shelf in a box well before the game comes out, so you are guaranteed the codes.

Amazon will email you the code.

Never pre-ordered from Wal-Mart or the other stores.

But that is just my experience. They all guarantee street date availability. Wal-Mart most likely being the iffy one in that regard.

I hate content already being on a disk and needing a code/paying to unlock it.. BUT the fact that you can get them by playing the game is more than a makeup..

Now to see what they do down the road in later versions.

# 32 rodperezto @ 01/25/10 02:54 PM
Ok, now that we know that the stadiums ARE in the game and we have to unlock them, it isn't misleading. (Heck, I really would have preferred buying them! )
Don't take me as not wanting to pre-order. I preordered last week and I did it because of the info. We'll see what can be done about that.

# 33 Skyboxer @ 01/25/10 02:59 PM
I've never had an issue getting my pre-order vouchers from Gamestop.......

When you preorder from gamestop do you get the voucher at the time you pick up the game I'm assuming?

not always but a majority of the time...yes.

The reward for getting all the trophies(which I understand is nearly impossible!)...should be getting an invite to the next focus test/community day. That guy HAS to know more about The Show than anyone else.
Unlocking the stadiums through getting all the trophies!!? I'd be playing until the 2025 version and still not be in the Polo Grounds!

Unfortunately there is guides for 09 that got the process sped up to get plat. And threads where people would grind the trophies for the league ones.

Doing it legit in 09, definitely would take a long while.

I hope they are not as bad in 10, considering the whole stadium thing.

# 39 countryboy @ 01/25/10 03:16 PM
according to Russell's first post(its been edited) you can purchase the DLC at a later date, with release date and price to be determined.

Does Amazon send to Canada? Or do you have to order from a Canadian one?
