First game against the Eagles after the patch, McNabb still had an uncanny ability to get rid of the ball just before being sacked...
Noticed that the CPU is much better at running the ball and CPU defense is much better at stopping the run. Pre-patch I played as the Panthers against the Eagles and DeAngelo Williams lit them up for 200+ yards. Post-patch I barely squeezed out 100 yards, the CPU tackling seems much more consistent.

I only played one game, but cpu clock management seems to be better. Usually when the cpu gets the ball inside 2 mins they start running the ball and then burning timeouts and then running again. Now they actually go into a hurry up offense

I need to know if they fixed the man align,it never worked the right way and I'm tired of my SS having to cover the RB out of the backfield and being way out of position,a simple man align should move him over the RB or switch the SS over the TE and have some1 closer to the LOS cover the RB.
Interesting. I've read the last four pages here and was pleasantly surprised to see almost all positive feedback for the 360 patch. I thought for sure the reviews would be consistent with the PS3 feedback, which seemed about 50-50 at best.
I actually had the game tuned to my liking with sliders before the first patch, which was an unmitigated disaster (I didn't think it was possible to make a game worse with a patch, but leave it to EA).
Anyway, for the first time in about five years I'm actually pumped about an NFL game. Looking forward to downloading it tonight. Although, I'm having so much fun with NHL 10 and NBA 2k10 that I'm not sure when I'll be able to work Madden into the rotation.
If it weren't for that atrocity of a baseball game released by 2k, this would have been a monumental year in sports gaming on the 360.

Played one online game.. I played a healthy does of cover 3 on purpose, but I didnt feel like the guy I was playing, was that good at reading D, so i cannot tell if he wanted to swing it out to Chris Johnson, and couldnt..or if he just wasnt that good.
He tried the usual Chris Johnson counter to the outside prostitution out of jumbo sets..and my LBs did seem to take better angles.
I did complete a pass that I rarely complete though...deep corner to the slot WR...usually this is warp INT or super LB deflection territory, but I was able to get the throw in there.
Small sample size, but I did feel like I didnt have to constantly manually jump the flat routes.

Man I am loving the patch right now. Played three games so far, and it was great then I realized my fatigue was set on the old patch standards and the game became awesome. CPU can run, the flats are open only if the play u call doesnt cover them and even then they flow to the ball pretty quickly. I was going to wait for the roster update tomorrow to start my franchise but Im so excited about the way the game plays Im just going to do it tonight. Only thing, is anyone else not getting replays on touchdowns?
I really don't understand all of the "it's impossible to sack the QB" posts... are you using the right stick to perform moves? I've never had trouble getting to the QB. I was playing on all-pro but switched to myskill because I get WAY better games.

Nothing really different that I noticed. A little more of a competitive game but many things remain unfixed. CPU QB's are still deadly accurate, pass rushing is almost non-existent, MANY user drops and now they fixed the sack animation so the QB doesn't just throw the ball up as much. However, I had a few where I was getting pressured I tried to throw the ball and it almost magnetically fell into the hands of a defender. This was pretty unrealistic and terrible, I can see it happening maybe once or twice a SEASON. But it happened twice in a game. Pretty inexcusable for that to happen...
Quick questions:
1 Are there any links that show what actually the patch addressed?
2 Does the patch work with Franchises (Offline) that were already started? I'm in year 3 now, dont' want to have to start over.
3 How does the patch affect current sliders?

In all of my games so far that I've played, I've never seen a gang tackle be ruled down on forward progress but I just seen it after the patch. Pretty neat.

This blog has links to the older blog updates as well (franchise and game play tuning).
2. Yes...no need to restart.
3. Someone else will have to answer this with details. People have mentioned pass rush, speed threshold, reaction time, and overall game speed being different to name a few.
There are already a bunch of post-patch slider sets, for whatever that's worth.

Good first impressions here from the patch.
The flats definitely feel like they've been addressed, and I got some more intelligent run blocking than normal.
I was very pleased with how the game felt on the whole.
To my mind, if the swings and the PA FB flats are taken care of by more consistent defense, then it was well worth the wait!
Excellent job.

Something else I've never seen in all my games of playing... Don't know if the patch has added this stuff but I like it.

I've seen the gang tackle animation before, less than 10 times though. And the missed pitch? Maybe once...can't remember. Patch may have addressed frequency or something.
*Sim stats impressions*
In my first season sim, I only had 1 Rusher (Turner) run for 2000 yards (2048).
Second leading rusher was Ryan Grant with 1769. 4 guys averaged 6+ ypc but Peterson and Grant were the only ones to run for over 1500 yards of those bunch.
24 guys ran for 1000+ yards.
4 QBs threw for 4000+ yards, McNabb through for 5001 yards 48 TDs 11 INT. Heh.
Definitely not as bad as I've been reading in some of you guys's franchises. I can live with this.

Love the patch already! The gameplay is so much smooth, and the game is more defensive. I've basically gotten rid of my sliders, and changed to My Skill and a few CPU adjustments. First play of the game, Fitzgerald tried to snag the ball with one hand, tipped it to himself, but couldn't come up with it. I loved it. The flats are fixed, but it is still possible to throw it to them, which has been a part of my gameplan for a while now, and now I wont be called a cheeser if I do it. I am a big sim stats guy, but for some reason I am not very mad. I guess it's because I don't care much for yardage but care for TDs. TDs are as realistic as it gets right now, and I don't have a problem with the sacks (Highest was 20, and OLB were in the top 10). Least I know my running back won't easily make the pro bowl this year.
BTW where was this Backtrack thing? It is awesome!!! I love Collinsworth analyzing, showing me the defense, my play, and what I did wrong. Simply awesome.
Also on another note, first defensive play of the game for me, I decide to see any different in the blitz. I control Rodgers-Cromartie, and do a corner blitz. Rodgers-Cromartie comes off the edge, untouched and forces a fumble. Awesome! I can finally go through the line untouched with disguised blitzes, without a nano blitz. Defense is awesome now!

Do punters still play as offensive linemen? Don't know if the patch addressed that.

I'm not sure if this is new, but I was trying to throw a pass and Cutler wound up to throw and the ball just popped out of his hand, almost the exact same play that happened last season when the Broncos played the Chatgers and cost SD the game
