NBA Live 10 News Post

The second patch for NBA Live 10 is now available for 360 and PS3 owners. Please post your impressions here.

This quote from blackflash83, NBA Live Community Manager.

Quote:
"The second title update will address a lot of the bugs that came from the first update as well as address the three point issue that has been plaguing online play. The online fatigue issue will also be fixed as well.

It will also look to address some of the freezing issues that some of you have run into as well."
EDIT: Adding what the patch addresses:

-Addressed goaltending issue to ensure that when a goaltending foul is received while blocking a dunk that the correct points are allocated.
-Addressed an issue ensuring that Ranked Online match forced to have fatigue set on.
-Fine tuned 3 point % completion rates to reduce the likelihood of successes to more realistic values
-Addressed an Injury Removal issue, where adding inured players to the starting lineup and attempting to sub them off was unsuccessful.

With the three point issue, the team worked to make the three point percentage more realistic based on tuning the shot release, defender proximity, player skill and distance from the basket. This was a key issue that the community asked be addressed and the development team took the extra time to ensure that three point shooting is more realistic.

Are you a PS3 or Xbox user??? If you have an Xbox then you don't need the new patch since Xbox users got the 2nd patch right and complete.

Does that mean 1.02 for my R3 game is already the correct patch, and only NA users will get the 1.03 fix?

Dynamic Season is really really fun.

I play this at least as much as franchise.

Just a smidge more depth in presentation/customization for '11.

The difference in (help) defense between CPU and User strikes me on All-Star level. When I try to free a player (via plays), a lot of times the CPU will stick to my players. When the CPU does the same, they seem to be able to free a player very easily.

Same for steals: CPU gets more steals than me (by intercepting passes). Manual steals by pressing the steal button very often result in a foul, even with great players like Bryant.
There is no way that the help defense on All-star is the same for CPU and user, not in 100 years.

Fouls: all the CPU has to do is go the rim and very often a foul is called on me. When I go to the rim, the shot is contested but a foul is called a lot less for the User. Conclusion: the CPU has a clear foul advantage on All-Star level.

Forgot to say that I'm in a franchise with the Lakers and I've seen these things against teams like the Thunder, the Knicks and the Pistons, so we're far from talking about the elite CPU teams.

Conclusion: not only do I still have a lot of work to do, but I have the feeling that some things simply are not fair. I do think that the CPU FG percentages are more fair now due to the sliders, but some things that I mentioned above are not fair (or not as fair as the "default" sliders for CPU and User seem to indicate).

Which is why I said this game was made more for online player or Hum vs instead of taking the single player into account

The game between user and the cpu is just far too imbalanced

Well, finally i got my chance to play with the second update and i'm loving it already, what i've noticed first is that player movement, footplanting has got better in a way, 3pt glitch has gone away, and also i've seen lots interceptions in the paint which is new i believe, and also it's amazing how dna improves day after day unbelievable; i've watched D.Howard do everything he does in real world, working on boards, taking ball to the rim in every possible way he can all the time and and Magic trying to get the ball to Howard first and then working around to find a better chance; all those things that i've seen them doing was awesome, i don't care if i lost all the games like that you know, i still have fun with it; amazing.

Pretty good job EA, hope you go on the same direction.

For me the most important thing with this game is that i believe i'll be able to play it after 2-3 years of time you know.

I just started playing online, and it's quite clear that the 3 pt cheese fest has not been fixed online. 90 percent of the people I play on ranked games are Cavs cheesers who just jack up 3's with mo williams all game long. They just give the ball to Mo, run to the 3 pt line and jack up a 3 - and it goes in about half the time - total garbage - fix this trash EA. The game rewards people for playing like morons. I seriously don't think defense even affects 3's in this game. My opponent will make crappy contested 3's all game, but when I work the ball around to get an open 3, my player misses the wide open shot. This is some B.S. This game is a 3 pt cheeser's wet dream.

I don't know about online, but I do know when you aren't on a run, the CPU does make a lot of contested shots with not so great players. It's better now with the new patch, but I still see some eye rolling things. Also, the CPU, without really dribbling, seems to be able to run past you or through you (?) too easily when you try to stay in front of them.
I think that CPU defense is pretty great and challenging on All-Star (and beyond), but the CPU offense tends to do unrealstic amazing stuff too many times.

Mmmm...I agree and disagree.

I think the one thing that still galls me about playing the CPU:

Althugh I can pretty much match or exceed the CPU at the free throw line now; I still see the CPU controlled players do things that I just simply cant get away with..it seems like they are able to flip a switch and say "These contested and contact shots are going in, and that is that."...While I cant get away with this, even though Im trying to pull off the exact same move.

The CPU is allowed to Euro-step..drop step with Duncan, and you are not. things like that.

On the flip side, this is by far the best head to head game I have ever played..on superstar in the league I am in.

My only gripe about online is that the control responsiveness isnt where I believe it should be.

Most of your foul line problems are user error.

Check out Ehh's blog.

If you are using the lakers, you should be able to get to the line with Kobe alone, 10+ times.

Kobe is a bad, bad man, drawing fouls.

But yeah, the CPu has its cheat moments, no doubt.

Thats common in just about all sports games.

Sports game designers seem to insist that higher difficulty levels means that the CPU needs to jam you up with a broomstick, instead of just mearly playing cleaner, cripser, smarter ball.

I am loving this game now. Seems like the CPU is more realistic. Yeah they get some ridiculous shots but that's NBA Bball. Loving it after this patch.
