NBA Live 10 News Post

The second patch for NBA Live 10 is now available for 360 and PS3 owners. Please post your impressions here.

This quote from blackflash83, NBA Live Community Manager.

Quote:
"The second title update will address a lot of the bugs that came from the first update as well as address the three point issue that has been plaguing online play. The online fatigue issue will also be fixed as well.

It will also look to address some of the freezing issues that some of you have run into as well."
EDIT: Adding what the patch addresses:

-Addressed goaltending issue to ensure that when a goaltending foul is received while blocking a dunk that the correct points are allocated.
-Addressed an issue ensuring that Ranked Online match forced to have fatigue set on.
-Fine tuned 3 point % completion rates to reduce the likelihood of successes to more realistic values
-Addressed an Injury Removal issue, where adding inured players to the starting lineup and attempting to sub them off was unsuccessful.

With the three point issue, the team worked to make the three point percentage more realistic based on tuning the shot release, defender proximity, player skill and distance from the basket. This was a key issue that the community asked be addressed and the development team took the extra time to ensure that three point shooting is more realistic.

The first post stated what the patch addressed. This coming from someone who demanded them as well.

If it isn't to your liking, fine. But there are those looking for impressions.

You're more than welcome to start a new thread on the issue if you'd like, but going back and forth on this in the impressions thread is not the way to go about it.

Ok, you've already posted that you don't think it's fixed. If it is, you're still not happy with it.

However, we're at the point that you've gone on and on regarding it. Even as far back as HERE, where you and others went on for about 4 pages.

Well, based on this vid, it's still too easy to jack up 3's.

I don't know if it's hot spots causing this crap or what, but it needs to be fixed.

Part of the problem is the the CPU doesn't really adjust and defend you closer after you hit a bunch of shots. The CPU kind of stays back and gives you space. After hitting a few 3's, the CPU should step up its defense and try to get in your face, but it keeps giving you space to shoot every time.

You're showing a video of you against the CPU chucking threes and hitting them.

The CPU isn't pressing up on you. All that video is showing you exploiting how the game relies heavily on DNA to dictate user shot success.

People know that already. If it's not fixed to your liking, might as well move on. Seems like there isn't much they can do at this point, and I doubt you'll see another patch. But no sense in arguing back and forth over the point.

MVB, cut it out. He already told you it was the CPU defending.

Pared, what we are discussing relates directly to the patch and what the patch was supposed to address. I don't see how it's unrelated to the thread topic.

Some of those shots were contested and shouldn't have gone in. I think all of this is being caused by hot spots or something.

The video also shows that the CPU defense AI needs to be improved so that the CPU will guard you "tighter" if you are hitting a lot of shots. The video still points out a flaw that needs to be addressed. Basically what can be learned from this vid is that it's still too easy to shoot 3's and the CPU needs to adjust and play better D.

That's fine, if it stays within that realm in discussing it, it's fine.

But if it goes back to the same back and forth garbage that populated this thread early on... as long as we don't have that again, we're good.

He also said he see this online...plus he could be playing on rookie mode..

There you go.

Let's leave this to discuss impressions. I know guys don't want to have to wade through bickering.

I just played a Dynamic Season game as the Sixers and I noticed the CPU utilizing 2-3 zone. Did this happen before?

I've noticed that the CPU (Superstar) is now more aggressive especially in transition. Transition game is smoother now.

The overall game is smoother now and there's a little improvement on the AI logic.

But still players like Dampier are still doing ridiculous shots like fadeaway turnaround jumper.

Well I just went through roughly 5 pages looking for impressions regarding the new PS3 patch. I'm not an online gamer when it comes to B-ball games so I was looking for other impressions. Looks like I just have to try it out for myself. Peace!!

That 2nd vid Joker posted was a pretty nice sample of the improved CPU offense. Couple fadeaways but things looked really good overall.

Played one game post patch, Knicks/Clips. Biggest thing I noticed was what loadleft mentioned that you don't get sucked into contact animations anymore. I definitely need to tweak my sliders now because it's too easy to get to the rim because I had the Help D slider lowered to try and cut down on the contact. Very good news.

Really digging the game right now but I think the DNA's progression/improvement has way more to do with this game getting better than patch 2. For the first time since release week I'm really, really pumped to play this game and semi addicted to it.

As I said before, if you can't accept the flaws of the game by now, you should just stop playing. You are only making yourself upset.

I know player will attempt these shots. I just have to be disciplined enough to make them miss enough times to get the win. This is where the reality of a video game steps in. I know it shouldn't happen, but, if I want to play this game online...i need to figure out a way to stop it. Or I will never enjoy myself while playing. It's just something you have to accept until the next version of the game.

Can we get some more impressions on fastbreaks ???

Can you actually get a transition basket off a missed shot now ??

I was only really able to run a fastbreak of a turnover at the top of the 3 pt line.....(pre patch # 2)

Dunno, I was always able to do this. What camera angle do you play on? Using baseline high I can see up the floor find and hit an open man easily. On other cameras this is much more difficult obviously.

I have yet to play post 2nd patch as i haev been in online franchise wonderland in madden.

Is the floor spacing and off ball movement of teammates, back to their pre patch level for both the user and CPU

Played my 1st game of Live 10 online and was able to see for myself what guys are talking about gamers using Bibby and jacking away 3's.

I lost by 6 or 7 but the guy kept shooting 3's with Bibby. He was 7 for 17 just from 3 pt land. When we started and he picked Atlanta I kind of knew what was coming.

Overall it was a fun game. Just no way in hell a player should be able to do that and not tire. He would have done better but I switched to double team and tight D on Bibby and thats probably why he shot under 50% from 3. If EA can find a way to fix that I would play this game online a ton. Peace!!!
