Ok, cool.....but mods can we end that particular subject right here? or move it to the "other" forum to discuss? I dont want to go through 10 pages of this.....especiall since this thread is on Live 10 patch impressions...
Leon Powe is still a FA when he should be on the Cavs. Also I hope rookie appearances will be updated, it'll be annoying if they have to play in real life before that happens.
Post patch i've seen much of a change in the fouls, and they're almost all contact shot animations, some from situations where the resulting animation was impossible.
wasnt speaking directly to you btw stumble....Jano, i was seriously debating reverting back....but i guess you cant really do anything without the update...
I don't know if this is new or I just never noticed it before but when playing the heat in miami I can see the light reflect off of the numbers on their jersey as they run up and down the floor. Its crazy. Like I said I don't know if its always been like that in that arena with those unis but I never noticed it.
I heard some people comment that the lighting was better though.

Yeah I didn't think you were..
Thanks for mentioning it... I responded without thinking of the ****storm it would probably cause... no sense getting this massive impressions thread locked when that could be discussed elsewhere.
As far as the patch, I played my friend online last night and I thought the game played better than before, specifically passing and blocks. I like the "protect ball" stance and the steal fix as well as the "push LS towards ball-handler to apply pressure" mechanic -- just seemed as if it was easier to engage on defense, including in the post. And yeah, of course the post-up button is a needed and welcome addition -- it seems as if they also turned the auto-post and made it more responsive/sensitive... don't really like that since we now can trigger it ourselves.. found myself backing down more than I would've liked.
I noticed playing the AI last night what people have mentioned re: defenders cutting off lanes easier. It's kinda frustrating to feel like you have the step on them and then they get back in the way (not necessarily sliding, sometimes it's actually your player running back towards them slightly), but I'll live with it. I don't like how many teams were basically walking down the court and chucking the shot up (especially slower teams like the Heat)... but I did like that any stagnancy led to the ball-handler attacking instead of just lobbing up a shot before they get a shot clock violation. Several times when the play was slow to develop, the ball-handler just improvised and attacked instead, which is a good change.
I played a game of my fantasy drafted dynasty, and yes, the patch changes do carry over to your dynasty mode, for those who have been asking.
I love the changes for the most part. I was able to get to the line double digit times, when i broke the CPU down, or caught them late on a rotation.
It wasnt cheap stuff, and it felt much fairer.
On the flip side, it took me nearly 3/4 of the game to get used not being able to sell out on every contest, as almost fouled some of my guys out!!!
I almost blew a double digit 4th qtr lead because of this lol. that and fooling around before I accepted that pump fakes werent as simple to pull off.
They fixed the quick post up set play, thank goodness..and I also noticed the movements were more deliberate. I was able to run off a screen, and do a senseable plant and shoot, much easier.
I'm not sure if this is a one game anomaly or not, but I think the slightly more deliberate movment, has changed the timing on the shooting releases.
i did notice a little bit of clipping on some drives. Nothing crazy, but it was noticeable only because I saw virtually none before.
didnt notice any crazy CPU AI. In fact, they seemed to run their offense much smoother. No PG brain cramps.
I just started a new dynasty & tested for overtime using 2 min qtrs on rookie level & yes overtime is still there. Maybe the issue has to do with previously saved dynasty settings not getting along with the patch?
Good news. Maybe it was just a few people. Doesn't sound like a widespread thing if a big problem at all. I haven't had a chance to test. Looking forward to some good DNA to start a dynasty.
The CPU shooting and offensive rebounds need to be tweaked for allstar difficulty. I played against the cavs and gibson shot 100% 4 of 4 3 pointers with 3 of them being contested. Mo williams shot 61% for 34 points...
Its like if you do not block their shot your body presence means nothing. Mind you the majority of this hot shooting was in the 4th quarter. I think there was a 9 - 0 run, then after a timeout another 10 - 4 run. The game played great for 3 quarters then with about 8 minutes left in the 4th the cavs erupted. I got beat by 20 points. I was using the celtics.
The offensive rebounding is not fair. The cpu rebounders are like dennis rodman compared to your players. Also im still noticing the cpu getting more foul calls. At one point every trip down was a foul for them while my team could not buy a basket or foul.
I was able to win some nail biters on allstar default difficulty but it was when i had an elite team vs an average team. As soon as i started to play the elite cpu teams the hot streaks were unbeatable.
Its so demoralizing to play great for 3 quarters only to get destroyed in the 4th.
