Interesting theory with the goaltending and the score showing wrong...that would explain why when you were losing by 1 they were fouling you...maybe in reality you were UP by 1...and the games ending in a tie yet getting credited with a win...was there a goaltending call in those games where the user did not get credited for 2 points?
From here on out, everyone who ends in a tie should keep track of whether there was a goaltending call or not...that would explain why some people who are testing this are going to overtime and others aren't...
That has to be it. Reading the through the thread after posting my impressions... something is getting screwed up with the score.
No one is lying about the no OT thing... too many people have experienced gaffes for this not to be a problem.
After the 2nd OT, I lost. Just too frustrated to stay mentally in the game and got run out of the building.
But yes, goaltending on a dunk... can you guys verify, like you bballguru, if this happened in the games where you had no OT?
That could be screwing things up.
It could also be a certain range of numbers. My scores when I had to play OT:
-CPU definitely is more efficient in their half-court offense. What I liked, at least thru 2 games, is that you notice a difference between teams like the Bulls and the T-Wolves. Chicago looked to get its scorers the ball early in the shot clock, while Minny would move the ball around and wait until the shot clock got under 10 seconds to initiate any kind of scoring chance.
-I actually missed a dunk and layup, which I don't think ever happened to me pre-patch.
-I feel more in control of my players, especially on defense. All that sliding and momentum would sometimes push me way out of position, pre-patch.
-Is it me or does it seem that running plays on offense is more difficult now than before? I was using the Celtics and I'd call a play and the red circle would only pop up about 50% of the time.
I think enough things are popping up though that another patch should be issued : )
Honestly... this shouldn't even be a consideration. Enough is screwed up with the score tallying that it's a must.
I wouldn't expect anything otherwise. Hell, seems like they tightened up late game AI as well in the game I played last night.. but the score keeping and not being able to know for sure if you have the right score is downright frustrating.
I wanted to break the disc. It's always something late in a close game with this damn series for me.

Im just waiting for confirmation of a fix..
Not even touching those DNA rosters either... its a hot mess
1 in the morning, muscles sore from working out and a game forcing me to play OT when I "won" twice was not a good combination for me last night. I made sure not to jump on OS... I would've let it rip here in the thread.
Decided a night's sleep was the smarter thing to do.

So you are saying you WENT to OT when the score showed a 1 point lead for you? Hmmm...that wouldn't match up exactly with the goaltended dunks in which you should be awarded 2 points of course...
Here is the video. You can see the time left in seconds, as well as the score and the period.
You can see... OT, the start of it anyway (300 seconds left?) with me up 53-52. The AI reacted accordingly by letting me dribble out the clock instead of fouling me.
I was livid when this happened as I chalked it up to another bad late game AI scenario until I realized that I was forced to play OT. I was the Heat playing at Portland.
Again, there was a goaltending on a dunk and I think that may have screwed up the score tally somehow in the background. But you can see that I still have the correct score, even here, with me up by one point.

Right. I just added a video.
I couldn't pinpoint exactly what happened with the goaltended dunk. I just remember thinking that the game didn't credit my score correctly. There was no way I could go back and look at the score, since Portland's in-game scoreboards were not visible in replay mode.
I would've taken a pic of the final score too. Thank god it's in the replay information.
There was just no way I could figure out exactly how I got screwed. I did try for about 5 mins.
Petition or not, I don't think it will matter. They aren't in any position to create any more ill-will from the community.
They will have another patch to correct this. I'm sure of it. I doubt we need to do anything. They will respond accordingly, and I see them fixing the online fatigue as well.

Just my opinion.
Yup...they've been very responsive up to this point...there will be a patch #2...
I just want the patch for the PS3 to come down. I keep turning my Live 10 on and off to see if it has finally come down - No dice. I'll try again during the day.
