2K Sports has announced the patch details for NBA 2K10.

"Hey 2Kers,

Just an update to let everyone know that we have completed the Xbox 360 version of the patch. As promised, you will find the patch details below. The items in bold are items that have also been addressed in a new version of the PS3 patch (I've updated that thread with the appropriate information).

To answer a question that I have received many queries about, these patches do NOT require you to restart your Associations and My Player careers. Good luck with your players and teams!

1. Let's be thankful the game is so customisable. We can change it to how we want. I got this game and saw teams bury 20 3s on me. Now I see them driving at the rim and breaking me down off the dribble.

2. Some of the complaints are just garbage. This isnt noticeable on OS, but I swear the average age of the official 2K board is about 15.

3. Patches are pretty new. The notion that a game is dynamic is still amazing to me. Growing up, the game was what it was when you took it out of the box.
I have to correct tbarney though: based on what we know AT LEAST about 2K, those guys work MORE than a 10 hour day. Some dudes sleep at the office. Some are there every minute and only go home to sleep and get cleaned up. This is common in the games industry.

I don't know about it being the "right" decision for the game. it's just the popular choice and it would seem that they are listening to the vocal community against their own judgment. No one can complain about that I guess. If the user wants to "break" his/her game, why not let them.

LOL. You're right - you like to complain. But you are wrong about the "skipping" of "important" things. I'm sure there is a MUCH larger list of issues that they know they could fix IF they didn't have to move on to 2K11. But considering the promptness of this patch and the list, they've done more than enough. Every item on that list is "important" for many people. That list, in my opinion, takes the game to another level. I'll live with the remaining issues frankly and throw them on the wishlist for 2K11 if they are not already there.

i remember when beta testing was free...... say what you want but but we didn't get what we were promised out of the box. i don't think anyone asked for a perfect game but we did want an enjoyable decent game to me thats not what was shipped . it doesn't matter how far we have come in the gaming industry. to put it bluntly i dont just have 60 bucks to shell out for a game that doesn't work like I have been told it should work (and they hyped this game for many months before release) i work long hard hours to earn my money and i have a family to support (so i have to save up for my gaming money because 2k isn't the only game that i buy)I am happy that 2k is doing something about it but hey if they want beta testing done ship out a few free copies to the community and get feed back from true dedicated 2k players! thanks for the patch 2k! hopefully we will see it in 3 weeks !

[quote=Pared;2040358648]This has to do with the profile. Delete it and you'll be fine.

Hey, could you explain this? What do I do next, and what about other profiles on my XBOX, if that one's still there is MY profile still going to be messed up.

I have Association ADD, I NEED to have multiple Associations going at one time

You have got to be kidding me. All you saw every single day in this forum were people complaining the 2k did not market this game. People being melodramatic, saying they would not even know the game was coming if it wasn't for OS and some other non-sense.

Now, less than a month in, and 2k hyped the game for many months before release?

Hype is Ea's style not 2k.

I hate to be the pessimist here (lord knows there are enough of those in forums these days), but I have to ask the question. How many of these "bugs" did 2K know about before they released the game? I find it extremely hard to believe that all of these things slipped by their QA team before the game was released... mind you that this will be the same QA team responsible for reviewing the patch.

So what gives here for 2K? Did they knowingly release the most bug-filled sports title in years just to hit the street date or is their QA department REALLY this terrible?
IMO with the one year dev cycle the decision (from all companies) is to release it in a playable state with known issues and patch it later. I dont believe the dev's want to do it this way however with thier shorter schedule some guy in a suit doesnt give them much of a choice.

Just go to the Load/Save section for Profiles IN NBA 2k10. Delete any there and start over. That's it.

The licenses don't give them much choice. And this goes for MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, etc.

Release dates are dictated by many of these groups now, not the companies producing the game. If they delay the game, they do so at the risk of losing the license in the future.

That's financial suicide. All to please cornboy534 on a message board when he will still get the same experience one way or another.

Another valid point, I have accepted that its how it is in the day and age of patches being available I just hate to see people blindly toss all the blame upon the dev team when there are dozens of other factors involved as to why XXXX is bugged / glitched or whatever the case may be.

Honestly the one that really strikes me as a "wtf how did this not get caught" is the arena framerate problems in the few that have issues. I would love to know what the actual problem was with them.

This thread has gone from great to really sad. I guess it just goes to show you that you can't please everyone. IMO the list is a great list that I don't believe left off anything. The sheer amount of things that are on that list is mind botteling.

I am confused about the minutes for my player mode. Everyone is saying it will be locked to 5 minutes, but the patch post says this:

- Users can now change quarter length in My Player to any amount of minutes between 5 and 12

Am I missing something?

Originally it was locked and the at the last minute (per our requests) they added the ability to change it.

OK, thanks for the very quick reply. So, since I don't want to delete my brother's profile and destroy his My player progress I will just wait. I'm assuming this bug will be fixed with the patch because I feel it's a pretty big deal, especially if it gets to where I can't even play a quick game. Do you know what is causing this problem and do you know if the folks at 2K know about it?

I don't know if they were able to pinpoint it.

And I believe you can delete the profile without it effecting your MyPlayer save. I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like that is the case.

I am reading that Free Agents in Association mode are not showing up on your roster even though they have signed with your team. They just remain in the FA Pool for the season.

I have not gotten that far in my association. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Nothing in the patch addresses this.

You're full of it. On both counts. You've NEVER been able to beta test console games. I've never seen a beta of a sports game. No one promised you anything. And the game is STILL enjoyable out of the box.
