2K Sports has announced the patch details for NBA 2K10.

"Hey 2Kers,

Just an update to let everyone know that we have completed the Xbox 360 version of the patch. As promised, you will find the patch details below. The items in bold are items that have also been addressed in a new version of the PS3 patch (I've updated that thread with the appropriate information).

To answer a question that I have received many queries about, these patches do NOT require you to restart your Associations and My Player careers. Good luck with your players and teams!

SimBaller"

Maybe they are just the same. Not sure.

Does anyone know what the difference in the two patches are?
I was looking over there for the same thing. There was no update in the initial post so I was wondering if the 360 info was somewhere in the thread but I wasn't going to look through 70 something pages to find out. It deserves it's own thread, that one is already unreadable.

I didn't mean to confuse you. I'm not trying to defend the ****** consumer at all. Everyone who buys this game falls under the umbrella that I described in my post.

I can't work around any of the issues I have with the game, because I'm only playing My Player, and that mode isn't able to be customized. I also can't work around any server issues, but hopefully that will be patched. Regardless, that isn't something that I complain about. Like in this thread, I'll mention it, but it's within the context of the discussion, and not within the context of a complaint.

I don't think anything I've written on these message boards has redefined me in any way.

I wasn't here during the Inside Drive days, so I can't speak on what old school members have done versus new school members. If you think people are out of line, all you can do is moderate. I don't recall ever personally telling a developer what to do.

On the one hand, you have to remember that you are privy to more knowledge than most of us here. If you hadn't mentioned the defensive fixes, no one here would know of it. If people haven't read your post, they still might not know. So if someone is complaining about defensive behaviors in 2k10 after reading about the patch, they are not being redundant from their perspective.

In any event, I'm not condoning nor condemning the comments made by any or all of the community. Some people take things too far, and some are right on point. My post was to address the issue of entitlement, which has a few more dimensions than which you originally described. If I wasn't clear to you, I apologize, but I'll do my best to boil it down to the empirical:

Customers are entitled to some things and not others.

Not to minimize your point, but the comments throughout the forums show some individuals don't feel the same way.

Either way, it's beyond the scope of the thread at this moment. No need to belabor my point.

MY PLAYER
Quote:

- Fixed an issue that would cause a clone of the user’s player to be created when changing teams at the end of the Summer Circuit. Existing cloned players will be removed with this patch.

- Tuned the substitution logic such that users should no longer be substituted out only to be substituted in at the next dead ball.

- The logic that determines whether or not you get an invite to Training Camp, make the NBA team, and get an invite from an NBA team while in the NBA D-League have all been changed to be a little more forgiving.

- Resolved an issue where the 2K Insider was not informing the user of his/her contract status at the conclusion of a 10-day contract.

- Fixed a rare case that would cause a hang during the offseason following a My Player season.

- Animation packages will no longer be reset to the ‘best’ package every time a corresponding attribute is upgraded.

- The user’s ‘Drills Remaining’ value will now be properly saved as new drills are accumulated throughout the NBA/D-League season.
Disappointing.

PARED,

Could you shed any light on the differnces between the xbox and ps3 patch?

Also, could you use your 2K insider connection to find out if the patch will have effect on our current association?

I am sure that the game play parts of the patch will work. What I am concerned about is player progression/moral/contracts and shot tendencies.

Just don't want to get deep in the association if these patches won't apply to current.

Thanks brother.

I believe it was mentioned already that you wouldn't have to restart your association or MyPlayer mode.

The only difference I can think of would be the Custom arena sounds.

From my understand there are many more fixes than were listed, hence the "and other fixes" comment.

It does seem apparent they read a majority of the complaints on the forums.

Wow, quite the list of fixes. Great to see that they're fixing the alley-oop issue. Kind of amazing that they missed these many things during the QA/testing of the game prior to it hitting the presses.

2K10 is about to get a lot better.

Something along those lines. But i know EXACTLY why they dont and Madden can..... its called competition.

And unfortunately for us it forces 2k to Limit community interactivity during the game making process.
I find this actually comical. Anyone that's been here and contributed over the years KNOWS that 2K is (or was) WAY more involved in the community than EA.

I'm not poking at your stance specifically. I just think that part is weird. Maybe things have changed, but I don't feel that. It's clear that guys like Pared and Momentus have a direct line of communication to 2K. We also know that they post here.

But you are 100% correct. THere's no way 2K could have given us hints of a new mode like My Player for fear of being copied by Live. It's the right decision. But, I'm sure that if it's clear that changing minutes wouldn't HURT the mode, they would allow it. So, we just have to trust them on this one.

That's great to hear! I really hope I don't have to restart my association and especially My Player.

I'm surprised to hear that with them changing how the progression/regression attributes work that we wouldn't have to restart a franchise for them to work. Usually when they make very specific association changes a restart is required. I'll take it as good news and hope its true.

Yes, its been released, there's a thread on 2K's forums. Not much difference between the two patches for the PS3 and 360 except maybe custom soundtrack fixes. Im just glad they posted the defensive stuff they've fixed in the game, especially the autodouble teams and tuning the help defense slider. Im curious about the Other Stuff that was fixed or adjusted that wasn't posted that Pared mentioned... if he would be so kind to tell us.

# 195 thmst30 @ 10/22/09 04:32 PM
That new list is even longer. I just don't understand how they fixed ALL that so fast, but they couldn't fix most of those exact same problems over the course of a year. I hope this lives up to the hype, but I admit I have serious doubts.

Sorry this is basic, but how do I download the patch? If I connect my 360 to an ethernet cable, how do I get an image on the screen? Do I have to hook the screen of my pc to the 360?

Thanks dopeboy. Do I have to log onto anything? My PC is in a different room than my 360, so if I disconnect my 360 and bring it to the room, will I have to connect my monitor from the PC?

Also, if I wait 2 months to buy this game, will the new disks already have the patch?
