2K Sports has announced the patch details for NBA 2K10.

"Hey 2Kers,

Just an update to let everyone know that we have completed the Xbox 360 version of the patch. As promised, you will find the patch details below. The items in bold are items that have also been addressed in a new version of the PS3 patch (I've updated that thread with the appropriate information).

To answer a question that I have received many queries about, these patches do NOT require you to restart your Associations and My Player careers. Good luck with your players and teams!

SimBaller"

even if you put lebron at 100 drive, 100 attack and 0 pass out. he will still pass it.
its hardcoded in the game.
and they really need to lessen the frequency of it.

i totally agree with this post & will be annoyed if this gets over-looked. we should definitely start a thread to bring this to a devs attention if it was missed... we shouldn't have to go in & edit everyones aggressiveness if they are a star & that shouldn't be yet another tedious task pushed on all roster makers.

it eliminates all the work that the devs put in in the first place to make the "stars" seem more like "stars" and everything have it's own signature.

It just boggles my mind that this wasn't at the top of the list regarding gameplay fixes. If this is addressed, then we can officially call NBA 2K10 the best basketball game ever created. Hope this is corrected b/c i'm all about authentic gameplay.

Wow. I don't even want to try and find out. The updated list gets posted and we see "but what about this?" posts. Reminds me of the sweet 16 shows where a kid gets a Lexus and they wanted a Mercedes only to throw a tantrum.

I'm not trying to belittle your point, but good grief fellas. I'll see what I can find out.

*grumble*

# 225 Goffs @ 10/23/09 12:27 AM
the problem is that those kick out passes are so damn accurate for the CPU...whenever i do the same thing it ends up in the stands >:O

# 226 rspencer86 @ 10/23/09 12:32 AM
Wow, just saw they added lead passing in the paint, selectable quarter length in My Player, and auto double team & help D tweaks.

Awesome. I'm starting my Association as soon as this drops, and will likely play for a long, long time. Thanks SimBaller and other 2K devs.

People are complaining that the game was released "broken", and we paid 60 dollars to beta test the game for the developers. What is so wrong with that?

Look at it this way...you are basically being afforded the opportunity to highlight what aspects of the game you want fixed and have them fixed in the process. With games on other consoles, there was no option for an update once the game released. I remember a ton of games along the way that have been "broken" out of the box, but we couldn't do anything about that.

Now, with the developers posting regularly on these boards, we are able to directly interact with them and let them know what needs to be fixed and what is working perfectly. You should be honored that 2K and EA have representatives that scour these boards looking for any inkling of information that will improve their product. It never used to be like this, and hey, they could be looking through IGN's boards, which is littered with posts regarding correct wristband colors and accessory issues.

At the risk of being flamed, I think we should all just take a breath and look how far video games have come just since PS2 and XBox. We can now fix things that are wrong in the game the SAME YEAR that the game was released.

I know that we constantly harp on aspects of the games that we feel developers need to address the following year, and they can never seem to get it right. Just remember, these guys are employees of 2k and EA. Not only are they limited by the resources being afforded to them, I'm sure that they really don't make a ton of money when all is said and done. This is a passion of theirs, and they would probably do it for free. But, they have worked hard and been able to progress in life to the point where they are able to do this for a living. So, I congratulate them because their hard work paid off. But don't be naive to the idea that these guys are basically getting paid sh*t, and they continue to get paid sh*t no matter how many times their product is bashed on these boards. If they could do something about it, I'm sure they would, but they don't make the business decisions for these companies, so their hands are tied...to a point.

Also, please remember that these guys have families and friends that they want to spend time with as well. I would get pretty damn upset if someone flamed me to no end after I just worked a 10-hour shift because they perceived my output as crap. Hey, they need to spend time with their wife and kids, too. I'm pretty sure the last worry that they have when they go to bed at night is "I hope I got Hakeem Olajuwon's right wristband color correct for the '90's All-Star Team." And, it shouldn't be a concern at all for them.

I can appreciate that people who post here are very passionate about their sports games, but please try to remember that we don't have robots producing these games. I consider it a privilege that I don't have to wait until October of next year to buy the next version of this game only to see that some of my biggest complaints were addressed.

It seems like the video game community, myself included, has developed an entitlement complex that is really beginning to affect the way that we see these products that we are buying. "We need perfection for $60" - NO, you shouldn't expect and you do not deserve perfection for $60. Remember, you are only paying $10-$20 more for next gen games than you were for previous gen games. You are getting little to no loading times, a chance to play other people from around the world online, much larger saving space for individual games (so that we can play as all 30 NBA teams), a chance at patch updates, and better graphical representations of the sports we have grown to love.

I know this is a long rant, but I had to vent, and I thought that if I reached at least one person with my thoughts, then hopefully somebody smells the roses like I have in the past couple of weeks.

We are in a technological time period where we should consider ourselves very fortunate to be able to enjoy games that are updated throughout the course of the year. This wasn't possible on previous systems, and to me, the opportunity to voice my opinion on a game and have problems that I find fixed once that game is already on the shelves is well worth the $60.

This is the way I, personally, look at the situation....

I would much rather pay $60 for a game that is fairly complete out of the box and be able to play endless amounts of games on it, report problems that I see, and have those problems fixed in a timely manner....than to pay $50 for a game that developers "feel" is complete, I think it is a piece of garbage, and nothing can be done about because we don't have the ability to release update patches.

To me, I would rather know that there are opportunities on the horizon for the game to get better rather than playing the game for 1 hour, realizing it's broken, and then take it back to GS for half of what I paid (if you're lucky to even get that). There's much more value in a $60 "beta" copy for me than there is in a $50 "retail" copy that does not afford the opportunity to be made any better until the next version hits retail shelves the following year.

I look forward to reading other's opinions on my musings, as I feel like constructive criticism makes us all smarter, more intelligent human beings.

Take care!!!!
Good read. I agree with you 100%. Its a breath of fresh air when a positive + well thought out post makes its way onto these boards. Its good to be gamer these days. strat -o-matic was the king of sports games when I was a kid, that was with cards, dice and my imagination. we have come a long way baby!!

Well, 360 dunks should be fixed, that's for sure. Also, it's annoying in My Player that two players wear #21 concurrently and I cannot change either... players change their numbers all the time in that mode. Al Harrington #44? Joe Alexander #45?

We just like to complain... but still, there are important things being skipped.

I am pleased to hear a lot of the fixes, though, and I can hardly wait for the weeks to go by and we can download these.

Did they mention the pc patch?

# 232 BlueNGold @ 10/23/09 06:59 AM
Wow, amazing job 2K. That patch list is massive and fixes pretty much everyone's problems. Damn, now I need to buy this and I still haven't got NHL 10 and GTA: Ballad of Gay Tony is coming out this week, lol.

This patch should be coming out around the first or second week of November right?

# 233 KLima878 @ 10/23/09 08:43 AM
I'm confused. does this patch fix the sim stats in association? With everyone editing the rosters/tendacies should I still download a roster or will this patch fix those issues? Thanks

# 234 J-Unit40 @ 10/23/09 08:55 AM
^ Fix the sim stats? There's really nothing wrong with them.

MY PLAYER

- Fixed an issue that would cause a clone of the user’s player to be created when changing teams at the end of the Summer Circuit. Existing cloned players will be removed with this patch.

- Users can now change quarter length in My Player to any amount of minutes between 5 and 12.

- Tuned the substitution logic such that users should no longer be substituted out only to be substituted in at the next dead ball.

- The logic that determines whether or not you get an invite to Training Camp, make the NBA team, and get an invite from an NBA team while in the NBA D-League have all been changed to be a little more forgiving.

- Resolved an issue where the 2K Insider was not informing the user of his/her contract status at the conclusion of a 10-day contract.

- Animation packages will no longer be reset to the ‘best’ package every time a corresponding attribute is upgraded.

- The user’s ‘Drills Remaining’ value will now be properly saved as new drills are accumulated throughout the NBA/D-League season.
Thank you Thank you Thank you

it's not a deal breaker for me but i can see how people don't like this. when's the last time you saw lebron drive the line, and pass out to someone with a laser-like precision bullet pass 9/10 times? plus, in order for the roster guys and everyone else who wants realistic tendencies, the only way to partially fix this is adjusting everyone's ratings and slider adjustments.

^^Also, check how many minutes the players are playing in your association. I have seen players with 41-42 minutes a game and I had to lower their minutes. Realistically, Dwade averaged the highest amount of minutes a game last season and that was around 38 min a game.

maybe change the sim minutes to 10 or 11 and that should fix the stats being high.
