"Hey 2Kers,

Just an update to let everyone know that we have completed the Xbox 360 version of the patch. As promised, you will find the patch details below. The items in bold are items that have also been addressed in a new version of the PS3 patch (I've updated that thread with the appropriate information).

To answer a question that I have received many queries about, these patches do NOT require you to restart your Associations and My Player careers. Good luck with your players and teams!

I just want to add my thanks to the developers for fitting so much in this patch. While I wish this was all in at release, I appreciate that it is able to be patched and this ability is being taken advantage of by the development team. If all of the items in the patch list work properly, this has the potential to be a truly great sports game.

Well, my one complaint about the patch was solved. Thanks 2K for listening to your customers and making My Player minutes customizable.

However, now I have to sit and wait and hope the PC patch is the same, or at least similar to, the console patches.

You should stop being so naive. This is the makeup of sports gaming today. You're not on some small message board; You're on the biggest dedicated board to sports gaming. You should really post as such.

Food for thought: Just because something wasn't listed in a "Patch info list" in ANY game does not mean something wasn't fixed.

Dessert: Had 2k not listed all those things, people would complain their communication is terrible.

These one liners are getting really old. They make this community look really bad. From someone who has been here since 2003, no less.
Look kid, The fact remains the same no matte what genre of games it is. This is thr only 2k I haven't picked up th first week of release. Why is that you ask? Because my friends told me that the game didn't seem finished. Didn't believe them so I went and played it, noticed some irritating things then they showed me most of the bugs that I ended up reading here. This wasn't a quality release plain and simple. I'm not saying it's like 2k4, that game just sucked. This wouldve prob been the best in the series had they just tested properly that's a fact. I hope this Patch fixes everything but this "well fix it later thru patch" attitude isn't a good thing for games in general.

I kind of agree with what he said. I think 2K Sports rushed it this time making the game not as complete as it should've been. You don't have to be so rude as you've said, you are not on some small message board. Show respect to others who are entitled to their own opinions.

Doesn't seem like it's practical to beta a sports game that's released on a yearly basis. And even if a company did... all they'd be doing is attempting to mimimize the number of problems a game has. There would still be people complaining that this or that isn't what it should be.

One problem I have with the community is some people aren't capable of articulating a view so they go to an extreme - it's ridiculous to see so many people ******ly throw around the terms "unplayable" or "broken". Nor should all games be grouped together when it comes to patching, although pretty much every game is patched nowadays. We should be thankful that game experiences can be improved with the technology available. Yet somehow it's being made out to be a bad thing.

Agreed. Pared, I enjoy reading your opinions and appreciate what u contribute to this community but that seemed a little offside. Every one has the right to say what they want that's what os is here for. If you don't like someones opinion it seems like ignoring it instead of flaming it would be more suitable. I just think ur better than that dude.

I didn't know that, please fill me in on this.

I'm loving the way the patch list is looking. Now when i play my friends, they don't have to look at me crazy for loading up human vs human sliders.

Not too big a deal, but i hope they patched the trophy into the jerseys durring the finals.

# 290 boldinfan18 @ 10/24/09 04:05 AM
is there any way possible to add lobbys in a patch update? I just loved having lobbies to look at the person style of play and record before I play him. It's kind of weak imo to just enter a game never knowing if the player is cheese, sim good record etc.

But the patch looks great I was just wondering if any nba2k10 offical test member could let know if lobbies will be included anytime in the future? Thanks

did they say anything about adding a post up button?

Nope. It's really not that big of a deal IMO, though. The more you play, the more you get a feel for the auto-post up.

I came home to some great news.

That list is awesome, should make the game even more enjoyable.

I haven't had a "Wow" moment in a sports game in years..I play Uncharted 2 and I am literally amazed every time I play it and couldn't be more pleased with the purchase. Pefrect? no..Fun? yes.
Well, to use your Uncharted to Uncharted 2 comparison... There were several years between those games. I think if you were to compare NBA2K10 directly to NBA2K7/8 you'd see a more noticeable difference also. Same with all sports titles imo. I'm no fan of the job Tiburon's done w/Madden, but there's going to be a noticeable difference comparing Madden 07 to Madden 10 long as the developer is somewhat competent. If Uncharted were to release every year, there'd be a much lesser discernible degree of improvement in that game - and to be honest it's not like Uncharted 2 is some reimagining of the series. It's an enhanced version of the first one.

I think these year to year releases have tons of under the hood improvements that aren't always immediately noticeable so they don't get the credit deserved for improving the games the way they do. I especially think that about 2K10 obviously because I think the game improved a ton in comparing one year's release to the next.

Like Sonicmage said, until Madden changes its cycle, no game will

... PS3 wasn't out 7 years ago....LOL

the game came out in 07 or 08

I personally would like a release every 2 years. It would give the developer time to make a complete and new game. All these games are, are slight upgrades with generally the same graphics. Uncharted which was great graphically upgraded its graphics to GENERATION levels as well as game play. IGN gave it a 9.5 and nobody gave it under a 9... It shows it got better. IGN gave Drakes Fortune a 9.1 which was still high but you can really see the difference from the other rating it got in other places.

1) Watch the kid thing.

2) While you have a point, what sense does that make posting it here? You're not some fool off the street, are you? You just admitted that it's the same no matter what genre it is. You make the comment as if no one here knows there are release dates these companies must abide by. As I mentioned before, all the professional sports groups set a release date and these companies must abide by them. You know that, you're an informed gamer on OS. Yet, you'd like to make that comment as if you really don't know any better.

3) These false acts of ignorance are what really degenerate this community. You know this is the makeup of sports gaming that we are in today. And if you feel that you need to get on that soapbox, you should do it elsewhere. This isn't the thread.

That goes for everyone. People are doing it in the Madden forum, the Live forum, the MLB game forums... and it continues to just ruin threads.

If you have an issue with the makeup of the sports gaming industry, make a thread in the Console Talk forum and go crazy. There are plenty of individuals who feel the same way you do, and certainly want to have a discussion on it. Hell, I'll do it for you. [EDIT: We're going to discuss this more at length, but expect something to come of it]. But we're not going to sit back and let guys continue to ruin the forums for others because they feel the need for an outlet of their frustrations.

This is music to my ears and I'm glad the mods notice that this happens in just about every forum.

? I said several years ago, which was why I said compare NBA2k10 to NBA2K7/8 and you'll see a more noticeable difference. If Uncharted came out every year, I'm sure there'd be less discernible differences comparing one year to the next. If you're going to compare yearly sports game releases to other games, a more fair comparison is comparing a release to a release a couple years before it. Not the previous year.

The sports games usually do improve a lot between releases. But expecting some reimagining of a series every couple years just isn't practical imo. You look at any title that's been around for a while, like Halo, GTA, etc. It's not like the games are getting away from what they are at their core. You get improved visuals, enhanced AI, more gameplay options. I'm not saying I'm against bi-annual releases btw
