Check out the Madden NFL 10 blog, which talks about the preliminary details of the 2nd title update.

	"In this second title update we focused on some of the more debated topics from our loyal and passionate fan base. We appreciate all the feedback so please keep it coming! In this update you will be happy to hear that we have tuned our Flat Zone assignments to cover the flats more effectively. Defenders will not chuck a WR if another receiver is running a route towards their zone. This will help the defender be in better position to react to a quickly throw flat route and allow him to make a play. The flat zone defenders will also play the ball better if a pass is thrown behind the line of scrimmage as well as taking better pursuit angles after the catch to prevent the ball carrier from being able to get around the corner. This has been one of the top complaints that we have heard about and realized it was definitely something that we needed to address."

I played a game yesterday and got the same. It (obviously) isn't the patch so I wonder what the update was for...

What system are you playing on? I see the guy below you who replied to you that was prompted with the same is on the 360. I'm on a PS3 and haven't played my Madden in a while.

Thank you for not starting a new thread that says "I think I got the patch" and making all of us go into panic mode and rush over to our 360's, only to get nothing.

Really? When I turned mines on yesterday I got prompted to an update and when I was sent back to play the game a new online terms & conditions that was dated November 16th, 2009 was shown.

But yeah... weird that you didn't get it.

A dumb question, probably, but will they release the full list of fixes before the patch is launched? Or could the patch launch at any time?

I guess what I'm asking for is are we waiting for the patch to show up on its own or is there another step to this process?

That's a good question. I think Live's patch dropped this year and after it did they released the patch notes here.

Your opinion could be correct, but Ian stated that someone at EA was working on the blog for the patch notes. I'm sure you know the drill, they put it together and it needs to be approved by marketing.

So likely no patch today then? I really want to start playing this game because I like it pre-patch and I am hoping that it gets raised to a higher level post-patch. Especially because I am an offline franchise guy.

I'm pretty sure there's a 0% chance of the patch being out today or tomorrow. They usually announce the release of the patch at least a day before. They wouldn't just leave us to be pleasantly surprised.

so 0.1% of it being released today or tomorrow
