Madden 2010 News Post

Check out the Madden NFL 10 blog, which talks about the preliminary details of the 2nd title update.

Quote:
"In this second title update we focused on some of the more debated topics from our loyal and passionate fan base. We appreciate all the feedback so please keep it coming! In this update you will be happy to hear that we have tuned our Flat Zone assignments to cover the flats more effectively. Defenders will not chuck a WR if another receiver is running a route towards their zone. This will help the defender be in better position to react to a quickly throw flat route and allow him to make a play. The flat zone defenders will also play the ball better if a pass is thrown behind the line of scrimmage as well as taking better pursuit angles after the catch to prevent the ball carrier from being able to get around the corner. This has been one of the top complaints that we have heard about and realized it was definitely something that we needed to address."

I would bet Tuesday or Wed AM

It's probably gonna be Tuesday, which is VERY annoying I really want to start my new franchise and I hate waiting. It's been long enough.

That's a possibility. But maybe because the patch wasn't delayed 93493489 days last time? If I remember correctly it was pretty much all on schedule.

It would be nice to get the whole story about why this took so long to get out from the Dev team themselves.

I think if it's releasing next week, based on this old post from Phil from the Friday before the first patch, then the folks at Tiburon know it already and probably would say so. Maybe not, but if they knew last time, why wouldn't they know now?
Well next week is thanksgiving. Therefore I don't expect that we get the patch info next week.
My guess is that we'll get the patch info on 30th of November and the patch will drop 2 weeks later.

Ugh. What sucks is that I can totally see that being the case.

This has gotten pretty ridiculous...What would your estimation be of the amount of people on this forum that are upset with how Madden has gone this year? I really think that this/potential other sites could be the place to try and send a message to EA. What if we in fact DID NOT buy madden on its release date, a wait and see approach..of a month?

Part of the story from Ian was that there were some hiccups. Don't know anything beyond that.

Yep, they had some unforeseen problems. I'm guessing problems from the changes of the patch just like in the first patch. The foundation of this game seems sooooo flawed, we'll never have a great Madden game on this generation of game consoles.

Unfortunately the casual gamer still outnumbers us.

I am just pissed because I bought Madden and now I can't afford NBA 2k10 which is by all accounts the better game. I will probably find some solace once this patch finally gets out, though.

Not to take this off topic......but I seen in the NBA 2k10 forums that Walmart will have the game for $25 (NBA 2K10) on black Friday.

I'd rather wait for a good patch, then get a patch early that has tons of bugs. NBA Live 10 did this and it almost destroyed the game. I just need the flats to be fixed and this game will be amazing for me.

# 494 toychri @ 11/20/09 06:26 PM
Dude, seriously? What percentage of people that own Madden do you think are waiting for detailed patch notes, 1%? And that's a high estimate.

# 495 TreyIM2 @ 11/20/09 06:35 PM
I think way too many of you are drama queens. For the record, Ian tweeted, as of last week, that the patches are OFFICIALLY with Sony and MS and he also said that this new patch caused more issues. If you don't believe me, find Ian's tweet. Take it down a thousand notches, ok, people? It will be out soon.

I think more than 1% of people would like to know what's going to be fixed.

That would put the number at, what, roughly 40, 50,000 people-ish? Let's pretend that the OS community that cares is at 5000 people. Where are the other 45k who a. even know a patch is forthcoming and b. care what's in it?

# 499 HolyCrap @ 11/20/09 07:26 PM
I don't think this patch is ever coming out..the game is to broken to fix with a patch. need a complete overhaul but EA is unwilling to do so.

EA should just have another company do the production and the making of the game and then just slap the EA name on it cuz EA can not make a decent football game at all

# 500 H1DR03L3KTRIC @ 11/20/09 07:55 PM
Roughly 3,000,000 copies sold, sixty dollars a pop $180,000,000 x.01% = 1.8 million dollars. In this economic climate that should be enough for a patch.
