It's the same with operating systems. You start with a base platform OS. and they slowly release updates to the OS to make it better. But eventually the time comes, when you need a completely new OS.

My BIGGEST gripe right now is that after watching football through the post and into now the reg. season is that the grass looks NOTHING like that of in madden. madden's grass textures are all over the place. Lions stadium, patriots stadium are about the only ones i can stand minus maybe st louis. for some reason the grass has to be more od a one solid color of green not patchy or detailed... Overcast games make the grass in madden look better though but at other times forget it.

THATs what i wish a patch could fix...GAME ART

hey guys i need a lil help

does anyone know how to download the patch?

does it automatically load when I start the game or is it downloaded like the roster updates?

I tried both and don't think I got the patch downloaded

So you're sure you don't have the patch? Easy way to check is to see if you have the Broadcast camera option in your settings. Are you connected to Live prior to launching Madden?

I didn't check for the broadcast cam but I did check out Farve and he didn't have his career stats and I heard people say the career stats for Farve and Vick were patched though.

And yeah I did connect prior to launching madden.

With 360 users, there's a bug with the patch and AFL DLC stuff. If you haven't downloaded the AFL DLC then you won't have Favre's and Vick's career stats in the game, as well as the 49ers helmet fix. It's annoying and it seems like you have to pay for the patch. But it's a bug/glitch, and the only way to have their stats and the 49ers helmet fix is to download the AFL DLC. Once you download the AFL stuff, then you'll see the Vick/Favre stats and the 49ers helmet will be fixed. Again, it's a wierd bug/glitch and it's only an issue with 360 users.

An easy to way see if you have the patch, is to go to the main menu and see if there's an option that says "AFL Legacy Mode." If you have that option in the main menu, then you have the patch. If not, then try clearing your cache and rebooting Madden to see if the game prompts you to download the patch.

Hope that helps.

I know Cedric Griffin is not exactly a speedster and is known to get beat, but WOW. At least 4 of his catches were for over 50 yards. I run alot of zone D, and it was like my guys didn't have a clue...at least 2 of his 80+ bombs were ones where he was COMPLETELY uncovered. Weak. His 25 yarder was due to me running an all out blitz, so that was cool, but c'mon! Granted it was just one game, but the Rams never seemed to even attempt to run the ball. I ended up losing an OT game on a fumble by Chester Taylor and the ensuing field goal(which made the game fun anyways) but I will grow weary of this crap if it happens with any regularity. Anyone else see anything like this?
My first game was against the Rams as well. I was the Bears. Bulger was hurt in my franchise but Jackson tore me up. 8 catches for 101 yds, 2 TD, and he had 107 yds rushing on 20+ carries. Their longest pass on me was maybe 25 yds. Regardless, I got served.

I have my issues with the game, but the use of the RB was quite prevalent in my game. Maybe you need some slider tweaking, or maybe it was just one of those games....hopefully.

Yep...for me its on the plays that go up the sidelines.

Well one thing I noticed for sure is the kickoff/punt returns. I started my franchise with the 49ers and Rossum had 7...I repeat 7 kickoff return touchdown in 4 games.. I mean, I'm a decent gamer but I had no problem getting those kickoff returns for a TD. Don't know if anyone has seen or experience this, but my setting for rushing is on 20.

Pursuit angles STILL blow...Everything else seems to be tuned pretty nicely

EDIT: I'm playin this guy online. He has the Vikes and AP is able to run in a U. YES! A whole darn U. He is exploiting the hell out of it too. Gettin ready to ban playin the Vikes too. Already stopped playin the Titans for this reason.

Neither can the coaches in the real-life NFL. Sorry, but I'd rather have some realism to the game so that I can get incomplete passes in ways other than the passes being tipped. Not every pass in the NFL gets caught and not every pass in the NFL is on the money.

I can understand drop passes but drop passes all the time.. its annoying. ok I know not every qb is dead on with there passes in real life but its atleast somewhere in the area of the WR. I throw passes in the middle of the field where my wr is on the far left... Come on man! If i was playing with J Russell then i can understand but not with peyton or brady...

peyton and brady throw lots of passes of the mark, but they are masked by the excellent receivers that surround them.
another thing this game lacks is the ability for the receiver to make adjustments and to go get the ball thus bailing the QB out of a bad toss or a toss that is of the mark.

I've never seen a pass thrown way off like that, maybe its just you.

If you're seeing such off-the-mark passes, I wonder if you are perhaps holding the L stick more than you realize. A few things:

1. If you try to lead your receivers by holding the L stick prior to hitting the throw button, you will often trigger a "throw on the run" type animation or throw (and quite likely cause more governance form the corresponding rating...something likely to impact all QBs, but more negatively effect the likes of more pocket oriented passers like a Peyton Manning).

Watch closely to see if you are doing this. I caught myself doing it while shuffling around in the pocket and leaning on the L stick while I was passing.

2. If you are leading the pass after the throw, then you may just be applying too much pressure. It's especially easy to do on the 360 (for me at least) as their seems to be a dead spot before it's effect is felt on the stick. This causes an instinct to mash the button to whatever position you're trying to lead, and ends up putting too much influence on the throw...often times causing complete misses of your target.

3. If this is something you've mainly noticed post-patch, then it could simply be the change to slider effectiveness showing through on whatever sliders you use. It may be time to revisit them, if you haven't already. That's assuming you mess with them at all. If you don't, it may be time to play around with the Human accuracy slider.

I haven't run onto your issues, so hopefully some of this helps out. I personally think they've got the accuracy balanced better than ever (for the Madden series, anyway). Might not be for everyone though. Try some of that out if you haven't already, and see how it goes.

EDIT: As for dropped passes, I agree it's a bit more difficult to get a proper balance. I don't think it's that bad, but it's something that could probably still use some future tweaking.

madden 10= shtty boo boo

this game is a slight inch better than 09 but i expect greatness from the only football game out.

the flat coverage on this game is horrible, i can hit the flats ANYTIME!!!! they are ALWAYS and i mean ALWAYS open. i hate how EA comes out with the patches to help tune the game but instead make it worse.

I feel like this game is getting more and more like head coach. EA, how hard can it be to make a game where strategy(playcalling, subs, gameplan, etc) + user ability are equally important???? the user ability in this game has been greatly diminished and all these OS bums like it because they have no stick!!!

I am absolutely raw at this game!! just as good if not better than i was on 09, and i making a lot $ playing this game, but i am slowly becoming fed up with it and ready to hang it up.

thank god for NBA 2k10
