Well I absolutely loved the freak'n commentary and overall presentation is beautiful! But the gameplay is terrible to me, it's 2k9.5 or should I say 2k9 with draft combine speed. And LB23 looks like he 60 years old, not digging the faces at all and Kobe still looks bad as well.

Overall the game just looks stale and looks like they've done nothing new - I think they got too comfortable and Live has added all of the things that 2k should've thought of.

These 2k videos just look so stale and sluggish compared to what I've seen of Live. And this is coming from a 2k guy. I am just being honest.
Just ridiculous. What ISO moves are you looking for from DEREK FISHER!!!! When was the last time you seen him cross someone over, his whole thin is protecting the ball and I saw him do that. Granted there were some things here and there that didn't flow but most of that was on the user's end. For the most part the CPU played very smart.

I am so sick of people talking about being able to do all these dribble moves like this is f'in And 1. In the NBA you don't see crossover non stop, people use speed and a 1st step to get by defenders and I see that all the time in the Combine and this gameplay wasn't long enough nor did it posses the people to show that particular part of the game off.

If you think Live is a better game this year then you are crazy, Live feels a little better but is not even close to 2K in anyway, unless of course you are looking to dribble the whole game....RIDICULOUS, this is the damn NBA, not streetball.

The game plays like a much improved, better polished and better looking version of NBA2k9.
look guys this is from 9/11 if you were in the last category then why are you still here? 2k10 obviously isnt for you

Ugh. I buy this game every year because Live is trash, but Im getting sick of this gameplay. Its the exact same thing over and over. Someone point me to ONE new animation or gameplay element or anything. Its not there. What the hell does 2k do with there basketball team .. nothing has changed for 2 years.

The ONLY thing about those videos that made me realize it wasnt 2K9 was the scoreboard location. Money well spent.

Again, this was a little disappointing.

One thing Live did great this year is add signature DRIBBLING moves and crossovers - players in Live actually MOVE like themselves - looking at these 2k10 vids, all the players pretty much dribble the same and like I said there are no size-up moves or one-on-one moves AT ALL. 2k completely lacks the 1-on-1 game. 1-on-1 play is a big part of nba basketball, but 2k has completely ignored it for years.

hahhah, 2k had all this in their game two years ago. size up sig stance is in 2k9. 2k just doesent need to give it a name, it's already in the 2k games because its suppose to be there.

i question everything your saying right now....sorry\\

Very hard to gauge the game on this video.

1. Who knows what difficulty it is at... (Looks like Rookie)
2. User doesn't appear to know how to play the game.

So I don't think there's any reason to panic for 2k fans.

my thoughts...

+Commentary's great.

+Nice variety of animations around basket. (don't know how it is compared to 2K9 though, didn't play it that much)

+Awesome atmosphere for Shaq's put pack.

-Passing looks awkward (Note: Live put a lot of effort in this area and it shows, sorry to bring Live into it.)

-Pau's baby hook at :40. Has no one between him and the basket and still uses an animation as if he is shooting over someone. This has plagued bball vidgames for years. My thanks will go to however is the first developer to fix it.

Nice to finally see some gameplay, but impossible to make a definitive opinion on it though.

LOL you saw 3 minutes of bad gameplay.. dear lord what do you expect, every freaking animation in the game? You saw a new put-back dunk animation, there's ONE!

# 29 DW3 @ 09/22/09 12:16 AM
wow....i will say im less excited about the game. i see why they have been so hush hush. Are there under the hood improvements? Of course there are, but is it enough to warrant 60.00? That is the question. Unlessl i play the demo and i see and fell the improvements, this will be a Black Friday pickup for me

Overall 2k just feels very slow and sluggish to me - the animations are too slow and unresponsive. The nba is full of amazing athletes with lightning speed, but I wouldn't know it by watching 2k - they all move like they're old geezers and every just looks unresponsive.
i didnt realize you played the game already....too slow and unresponsive...you got all that from just watching...amazing

id hate to see what you will say when you get your hands on the actual demo...this place is just too funny

well this is going to be a fun week here in the forums....if its too sluggish for you just wait till KonsoleKingz streams the game on Friday! i guarantee you wont see any sluggish gameplay there LOL

anybody else find this annoying? "ive been a 2k'er since dreamcast days blah blah blah now Live has stepped up their game blah blah im jumping ship and letting everyone know that in the boards" LOLS

I have to give mad up to the intro, it will be sick on my 60" Samsung and Surround sound. & User Videos never shown anything good unless they play as sim to the real NBA Counterpart they are controlling and The Team style. D-Fish doesnt do moves. But Poohdini Does. Lebron Does, Kobe does. Not 1 player on each team actually tries to break down their opponent. Lebron is being denied by user control. As for the Faces, I like them I think they are better looking then last year where they had Lebron looking like a 19 year old with no facial hair practically lol

Kobe/CPU No hesitation to Pop Jumpers

-'s
Too Quick of passes
maybe too much dribbling
AI awr ( User player doesnt help the cause either
USer play plays like a fool lol
Not Quick enough decision on ISo (really cant tell but they take to long to decide how they are going to ball on their defender)

it discuss me every year people with their rookie eyes. EVERY YEAR. this "game looks the same every year" is a REMIX of the same song

lisen, was 2k6 like 2k7???? was 2k7 like 2k8??? was 2k8 like 2k9???

because as far as im concered, and history is concerned, every body seems to have their own thoughts and ideas on EACH game...am i WRONG??? comon now, this is a OS site.

it's funny but from my p.o.v. if its 2k9 but a little more POLISHED, i'd be happy. I didnt play 2k9 enough because it was so bad, so I just may be happy with this product. A skewed perspective, so i may stay away from the forums come launch as I wont relate with many.

# 34 i c u cant stop me @ 09/22/09 12:26 AM
ill have to wait for a demo...i loved 2k for years and have brought it over live but this year i might have to go with live...it looks like and feels like a more polished game and that was just the demo with so much more missing out of it. 2k just give me a demo at least i wanna give you guys a chance.

# 35 Fr3shPrinc3Nyc @ 09/22/09 12:30 AM
i'm still anxious to see how this turbo bar thing works and how it can stop cheesers. gameplay vid was ok but i'm def. feeling the presentation. I really wanna see some user vs. user gameplay vid though to see how much the gameplay has really change

# 36 Goffs @ 09/22/09 12:32 AM
i want to know what situation music you can change....i have NHL2k10 and they have quite a lot that you can customize....

well the videos disappointed me

Positives
  • Presentation
  • Commentary
  • Facial Expressions
  • Smooth Animations
  • Improved Jumpshots
  • Mismatches were taken advantage of
  • Player tendencies
Negatives
  • Graphics werent really improved
  • Still some sliding and ball warping
  • The net is way too splashy
  • Gameplay looks almost identical to 2k9
  • Lebron's face
  • Shaq's two handed dunk was a canned animation and it looked like the defenders couldn't do anything

Maybe the demo will change my mind on a few things but there's my honest opinion.

# 39 SacKings1999 @ 09/22/09 12:39 AM
I think I speak for a fair % of people when I say that I am not impressed. At all. As someone else said, it looks like 2k is playing it too safely. The commentary is nice, but that's not worth $60. However, it's silly to base my impression off a 3 minute video created by non-sim-ballers. I'll try and be level headed and not say anything about 2k10 until I play it myself.

# 40 XenoZograscope @ 09/22/09 12:41 AM
If the same issues keep reoccurring in the game year after year it makes u kind of wonder if 2k is really addressing the issues.
